Really? I never understood what was so great about the whole TV effect. Maybe that's just me. I was really hoping to see like SuperEagle or 2xSai implemented like it already is in MAME plus. I think it looks way more pimpin when it's not all "pixely", like it improves on my childhood memories.

I wish HD TV had scanlines for downloadable old school content on gameconsoles. 8-bit games dont look that bad but 16 bit and beyond look horrible on 1080p

most emulators do.I know that fusion does, and when i play genesis games on my 50 inch LED i use the scanline feature and it looks great.nestopia does too.so does bsnes for snes games.

Oh never mind.I just got what you were saying xD.and you are correct,ps3 & 360 should have a scanline feature for old school games they sell

Actually, 'pixelly' means progressive scan, hi-res image. 15khz monitors only drawing so many lines created a visual effect that is similar to a 'fabric pattern'. That, the shading of colors via phosphors, plus the natural rounding of 'pixels' that 15khz display enables make for a certain kind of 'depth' to the objects in the image that, especially if you don't remember seeing it back then, you won't have any idea of in comparison to hi-res monitors.
