Nailz
I have gone through the posts here and changed everything that is stating would help speed things up, and gone through posts over at BYOAC as well with no avail. Maybe someone has a couple more ideas for me or could look at my ini? Thanks for the help, I am guessing maybe I have missed something easy. I have the latest .NET, I am using an AMD XP 2800 with 768 MB RAM, latest drivers on my Radeon 9800 Pro, with Windows XP, all my other front-ends seem to run pretty quick, but this is really the one I would like to get running.MartyGameEx.ini.zip
Quazl
At one time I had everything set right.I ended up reinstalling my graphic card drivers and reinstalling directx. This fixed it for me.The Games ran fine it was just the animated stuff that were in the menus that were really choppy.I don't know if you have done this yet or not. But it helped my setup. So maybe your log will shed some more log. Also make sure your running the latest gameex. There were some optimizations in the latest version. Tom Speirs
Hi Tom, yes, I went through the sticky, went through the GameEx FAQ, and the items posted at BYOAC. I am hoping I am just missing something simple and dumb, i'd love to use this in my cab. Please note in this log, I am using mameanalog, the results have been the same with the latest mame as well as version .62.Thanks for the help.I dont know if there things you tried to try anf fix, but you should NOT be using dont wait for blitting on your system. Also try turning on sound and the gamepad. Maybe a bug in GameEx means they need to be turned on. Other than that cant see much else. Are you running GameEx on a local drive, disk space etc OK?Could it be some kind of apps or spyware running on your PC? It might be worth running a few tools to check that.Make sure the PC is not accidentally underclocked. If its overclocked, it could be overheating and that would cause GameEx to slow down. The sleep setting should help with that. I have a laptop with a normal P4 2.4ghz not the mobile version etc. My laptop gets very hot when GameEx runs, the CPU then steps down and then GameEx runs slow.Honestly, GameEx should fly on your system spec. Nailz
Ok, I changed the things you stated should be switched and turned on sound and the gamepad. This is being run on local disk, checked for any funky apps and spyware and it is clean.Maybe there is just something funky with this PC, I will try it on my slower laptop, and see how that works. This isn't the PC I will be using in my cab, I am just trying to get the kinks worked out for the one going in, maybe there is some underlying issue somewhere else. The issue is less one fo being slow, and more like it is jerky. I use Pac Man (Midway) to test. Pac runs fine to the corner, then will freeze momentarily, then go normal speed, then freeze, repeat process....If you have any other ideas, i'd love to hear them, thanks again for the suggestions. Nailz
Another update, I installed this on my Dell Latitude D600 laptop with Win2K and it runs like a champ without me turning off anything....I have no idea what is causing the issue in my PC, it runs everything else I have just fine. I've seen weird stuttering problems like this when the jumpers are set wrong (you'd think the drive wouldn't work at all). Just something else to check.
