dwight
Hi,Is there anywhere I can go to find a description of which arcade games haveflashing buttons? I've found I had to turn the p1_start button on in the plugin myself before Dig Dug would flash correctly. I thought the start button wasn't ticked automatically possibly because of the colors.ini file I use? I'm still working through how this works.Any help appreciated.Regards,Dwight. crummy
Wow, this plugin is awesome. Took a little thinking to figure it out (I should have just read this thread) but it's very easy past the initial learning stage.Unfortunately, I seem to be getting no lights for MAME games. I set up profiles for my other emulators, so they work fine, but nothing for MAME. Do I need special ini files anywhere?Edit: Actually, when in MAME I just get whatever lights I've set up for the "GameEx" profile.Edit: Oh, and since the latest version of GameEx (released yesterday) I seem to get the "Welcome to GameEx" speech when I start gameex, even though I've turned that off (even if I change the text it doesn't help.) Just whatever I set up my GameEx controls to be.
crummy
I managed to the MAME keys lighting up, but I'm still having issues with the plugin configuration program.I'll load it up, hit the Profile Editor tab, click Dreamcast, click Ikaruga, make some changes (changing Always Active to False for a few buttons), click Save, click Exit, then go back in and my changes were never saved. In some cases I've reverted to editing ini files, but this is far from desirable Edit: This time it worked? Maybe it's related to me remote desktopping it (seems to save changes OK) vs editing via the machine itself.Regardless, can anyone explain the difference between "State" and "Always active"?
headkaze
Sorry I've been meaning to "tend" to this thread and forgot about it. Not sure why settings are not saving for you and I can't imagine remote desktop being the cause. When it doesn't save perhaps check the PluginLCD.log file for any errors."State" determines if the control is lit or not lit and "Always Active" forces it to be lit. "Always Active" is for profiles like "GameEx" so you can set things like admin buttons (Exit/Pause etc.) to always stay lit. In the "Mame" profile you might have Start and Coin buttons set to "Always Active" as another example.
Stub
You mention compatibility with BetaBrite signs. Do you also support the BetaBrite Prism signs? It is USB capable.
headkaze
You mention compatibility with BetaBrite signs. Do you also support the BetaBrite Prism signs? It is USB capable.I'm not 100% sure to be honest. It depends on a few things A) If it uses the same protocol as the original BetaBrite's and If they have a USB driver that acts like a virtual com port. In my experience devices like this that connect through USB do have a virtual com port driver for them. If the answer is yes to both of those then it should work fine. Tempest
I request that mention of this plugin to be made in this thread:User Submitted Plugins, Upload your plugins here.http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?showtopic=2704Just Do It! headkaze
Yes if you've moved your GameEx folder you will probably have to go into the PluginLCD config and set your Mame folders again.

Stu1983
Well I did see the bit about the Mame.ini and I thought it was a bit odd as I haven't changed any folders everything in my new computer is still installed in the same folder on my E: drive, and as far as I'm concerned my mame.ini has always been in the E:\MAME\INI\ not the root of the MAME folder, I also noted that in the lcd config file it seems to think my ini should be in an INI folder so I don't know why it's looking for it in the root. Anyway I also tried moving the ini from the ini folder to the root but it made no difference to the config utility other than when it crashed the log file did't complain about the mame.ini but it still had all the other errors.Stu

headkaze
If you delete PluginLCD.ini you will have to run the plugin configuration so it will create it again. Check PluginLCD.ini after thatAre your Mame paths correct? (it gets them from GameEx.ini the first time so if they're wrong there, they will be wrong in the plugin)Eg.[Mame]Exe=C:\Emulation\Mame0123 64bit\vmame64.exeCfg=C:\Emulation\Mame0123 64bit\CfgCtrlr=C:\Emulation\Mame0123 64bit\CtrlrIni=C:\Emulation\Mame0123 64bit\IniVersion=0.124aWhen you run GameEx again, if it's still not working, exit out and check the PluginLCD.log for any errors. headkaze
You definately should have Mame.ini in E:\Mame not in E:\Mame\Ini. I don't even look in any folder other than Mame's root folder for Mame.ini, so leave it in root that's were it should be.Secondly, this new PC, it is a stripped down version of XP or something? It looks like it can't find the Speech components. You need to install sapi51.msi and sapi51xp.msi. Hopefully that should get it running. Do I really need this as I don't intend to use this feature of your pluginStu
