rxd
Since I have updated to the latest version of PinballX it now keeps showing the PinballX animation on my RealDMD. I don't card about that one way or another but the DMD used to tuen off for tables that did't use it. Now it just freezes in the middle of the animation. Is there a way to get back to the older behaviors of turning off the DMD display when it isn't being used? Thanks
Tom Speirs
Which version did you update from and do you have the hidedmd turned on for each table in Game Manager?
rxd
I think I was on 3.37 and now I'm using 3.40. Hide DMD is checked on all the tables.

Tom Speirs
I think I found the issue. One more thing, please post the log file so I can see if you are running 64 or 32 bit.

rxd
Beats me. I deleted the old log file then started PinballX again and got this: 15:12:23.3 5/13/2019: PinballX - Version 3.40 15:12:23.4 5/13/2019: Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 64-bit (4GB) 15:12:23.4 5/13/2019: Loading Settings 15:12:23.4 5/13/2019: Initialize Component 15:12:23.4 5/13/2019: Initialize Display 15:12:23.5 5/13/2019: Testing Flash engine. 15:12:24.5 5/13/2019: Loading PlugIns 15:12:24.6 5/13/2019: Created DirectX BackGlass Window 15:12:24.6 5/13/2019: Looking for startup images 15:12:24.8 5/13/2019: Hiding Cursor 15:12:24.8 5/13/2019: Hiding Taskbar 15:12:24.8 5/13/2019: Getting GPU and CPU Information 15:12:24.8 5/13/2019: CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670 CPU @ 3.40GHz 15:12:24.8 5/13/2019: 4 cores, 4 threads 15:12:24.8 5/13/2019: GPU 1: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 15:12:24.8 5/13/2019: Displays: 2 15:12:24.8 5/13/2019: Load Game List 15:12:24.8 5/13/2019: Loading Database: Future Pinball 15:12:24.8 5/13/2019: Loading Database: Visual Pinball 15:12:24.8 5/13/2019: Loading Database: VPX 15:12:24.9 5/13/2019: Initial load gamelist took: 78ms 15:12:24.9 5/13/2019: Finding and matching artwork and videos 15:12:26.5 5/13/2019: Took: 1638ms 15:12:26.5 5/13/2019: Loading Game Statistics and Scores 15:12:26.6 5/13/2019: Real DMD Initialized 15:12:26.6 5/13/2019: Main display running full screen windowed. 15:12:26.6 5/13/2019: Loading Surfaces 15:12:26.6 5/13/2019: Finished Loading Surfaces 15:12:26.6 5/13/2019: Initialize Audio 15:12:26.6 5/13/2019: Set Keyboard Controls 15:12:26.6 5/13/2019: Initialize Joystick 15:12:26.7 5/13/2019: 1 Joystick Attached 15:12:26.7 5/13/2019: Started 15:12:27.4 5/13/2019: Starting Real DMD Thread 15:12:34.7 5/13/2019: Exiting 15:12:34.7 5/13/2019: Showing Taskbar 15:12:34.8 5/13/2019: Unhiding Mouse Cursor 15:12:34.8 5/13/2019: Disposing Plugins 15:12:34.8 5/13/2019: Saving Settings 15:12:34.8 5/13/2019: Bye
Tom Speirs
Please replace this file and let me know the results. You said you upgraded from just a few versions ago. Are you saying it is a new issue or has it been around a while? XDMD.zip
rxd
I have never had this issue until I did this last upgrade on Sunday. With that new DLL it now works like it used to most of the time. Not all of the time. But it is definitely a step in the right direction....
Tom Speirs
hmm. really not sure what has changed in those last few versions. Has anything else changed on your system?
rxd
No changes at all. I played some tables and it was all normal, noticed the message that there was an upgrade available, installed the upgrade and immediately noticed the difference. I was all Windows updates disabled so that can't be it either....
Tom Speirs
I hear you. Just hard to track down as I don't clearly know what version you upgraded from.

rxd
Not to ask a stupid question but is there a way to just turn the whole RealDMD off in PinballX? At this point those little animations are more problems than they are worth....
Tom Speirs
Just change or delete norealdmd.mp4.
