Saybruh Posted April 2, 2019 Share Posted April 2, 2019 Hey guys, I'm a noob to frontends, and am having trouble running GameEX Arcade Edition 15.56. My MAME .193 runs fine by itself, but after walking thru the install, during bootup I get this error. I've been searching for a soloution for weeks, any help will be appreciated! 13:16:54.51 4/2/2019: Manual Path is: C:\Arcade\Media\MAME\manuals 13:16:54.51 4/2/2019: Icon Path is: C:\Arcade\Media\MAME\icons 13:16:54.51 4/2/2019: Marquee Path is: C:\Arcade\Media\MAME\marquees 13:16:54.57 4/2/2019: Applying Language/Text 13:16:54.57 4/2/2019: Text/Language: English 13:16:54.58 4/2/2019: Loading Language/Text 13:16:54.60 4/2/2019: Loading Addins 13:16:54.60 4/2/2019: Using Version 3 Themes Animations 13:16:54.60 4/2/2019: Retrieving resolution setting 13:16:54.67 4/2/2019: Using General Font: HandelGothic BT 13:16:54.67 4/2/2019: Using Title Font: HandelGothic BT 13:16:54.67 4/2/2019: GameEx will try to reduce CPU usage 13:16:54.72 4/2/2019: Initialising Direct3D 13:16:55.24 4/2/2019: Setting Resolution to 1600x1200 32 bit color 13:16:55.28 4/2/2019: Creating Surfaces 13:16:55.64 4/2/2019: Warning: Display is running in full screen compatibility mode. 13:16:55.76 4/2/2019: Setting Resolution to 1600x1200 32 bit color 13:16:55.76 4/2/2019: Creating Surfaces 13:16:55.80 4/2/2019: --**-- 13:16:55.80 4/2/2019: Error: D3DERR_INVALIDCALL: Invalid call (-2005530516) 13:16:56.06 4/2/2019: at SlimDX.Result.Throw[T](Object dataKey, Object dataValue) 13:16:56.06 4/2/2019: at SlimDX.Result.Record[T](Int32 hr, Boolean failed, Object dataKey, Object dataValue) 13:16:56.06 4/2/2019: at SlimDX.Result.Record[T](Int32 hr, Object dataKey, Object dataValue) 13:16:56.07 4/2/2019: at SlimDX.Direct3D9.Device..ctor(Direct3D direct3D, Int32 adapter, DeviceType deviceType, IntPtr controlHandle, CreateFlags createFlags, PresentParameters[] presentParameters) 13:16:56.07 4/2/2019: at Direct2d.Device.NewDevice(Form FormHandle, Int32 Width, Int32 Height, Boolean Windowed, Boolean VSync, Boolean Display16Bit, Int32 DisplayNbr, Int32 RefreshRate, Direct3D _Direct3d) 13:16:56.07 4/2/2019: at Direct2d.Device.a(Form& A_0, Int32 A_1, Int32 A_2, Boolean A_3, Boolean A_4, Boolean A_5, Boolean A_6, Int32 A_7) 13:16:56.07 4/2/2019: at Direct2d.Device..ctor(Form FormHandle, Int32 Width, Int32 Height, Boolean Windowed, Boolean VSync, Boolean Display16Bit, Boolean SecondaryDisplay) 13:16:56.07 4/2/2019: at GameEx.GameEx.MainForm.a(Boolean A_0, Boolean A_1, Boolean A_2, Boolean A_3, Int32 A_4, Int32 A_5, Int32 A_6, Boolean A_7, Boolean A_8, Boolean A_9) 13:16:56.07 4/2/2019: at GameEx.GameEx.MainForm.a(Boolean A_0, Boolean A_1, Boolean A_2, Boolean A_3, Int32 A_4, Int32 A_5, Int32 A_6, Boolean A_7) 13:16:56.07 4/2/2019: at GameEx.GameEx.MainForm.a(Boolean A_0, Boolean A_1, Boolean A_2, Boolean A_3, Int32 A_4, Int32 A_5, Int32 A_6) 13:16:56.07 4/2/2019: at GameEx.GameEx.MainForm.a(Boolean A_0, Boolean A_1, Boolean A_2, Boolean A_3, Int32 A_4) 13:16:56.07 4/2/2019: at GameEx.GameEx.MainForm.a(Boolean A_0, Boolean A_1, Boolean A_2, Boolean A_3, Int32 A_4, Int32 A_5, Int32 A_6, Boolean A_7, Boolean A_8, Boolean A_9) 13:16:56.07 4/2/2019: at GameEx.GameEx.MainForm.a(Boolean A_0, Boolean A_1, Boolean A_2, Boolean A_3, Int32 A_4, Int32 A_5, Int32 A_6, Boolean A_7) 13:16:56.07 4/2/2019: at GameEx.GameEx.MainForm.a(Boolean A_0, Boolean A_1, Boolean A_2, Boolean A_3, Int32 A_4, Int32 A_5, Int32 A_6) 13:16:56.07 4/2/2019: at GameEx.GameEx.MainForm.InitDirectDraw(Boolean nodispose, Boolean reinit, Boolean DontLoadSurfaces) 13:16:56.07 4/2/2019: at GameEx.GameEx.MainForm.a(Boolean A_0, String A_1, Boolean A_2) 13:16:56.07 4/2/2019: at GameEx.GameEx.MainForm..ctor() 13:16:56.07 4/2/2019: 13:16:56.07 4/2/2019: It was detected you experienced a DirectX error. 13:16:56.07 4/2/2019: Please note the following for possible solutions to your problem: 13:16:56.07 4/2/2019: 1. Draco1962 Posted April 2, 2019 Share Posted April 2, 2019 Just a guess but since it is erroring right before logging your GPU info, this could be a problem with your GPU driver or the driver installed is not DirectX 10 or higher compatible. You may want to download and reinstall your video card driver from the card's manufacturer site preferable to Microsoft's default video drivers.
