Hey Guys!

I've configured gameex to use game filter list and not show roms like prototype, hack, german, brazil etc.. but I still see these games in my rom list :( I don't know why.

look at the screenshot to see how I configured it..

am I doing something wrong?

any help would be appreciated

Hi Querschnitt,

Please go into GameEx and retrigger the gamelist to build itself again (so the log.txt file captures the build activity). Then, post your gameex.ini file from the CONFIG folder and the log.txt file from the LOG folder. These files will give us some background on your setup. Thanks.

Also, are the mohjong, casino, and "naughty" games filtering out successfully?  :)

How can I update my list? I know there should be a button somewhere, but I can't find it anywhere. and no. i didn't enable "hide update list" in the enable/disable features tab

I don't know if it works for casino or mahjong games, because I don't know the name of these, so I haven't realized yet if they've shown up in my list or not

Not sure if whether you realize it or not but you just provided the answer to your problem in finding the option. If you want to click on the option to "Update List" then you have to disable "hide update list" in the enable/disable features tab.

Of course, you could help those trying to help you by attaching copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files when asking for assistance as was requested by RedDog.

@Querschnitt There is an option called "Hide Update List" under "Enable/Disable Features". Set it to "No" and the next time you run GameEx, you will have an extra option in the Mame list called "Update List".

@Draco1962 Thanks for the backup, but take it easy on Q. I gotta give him credit. He was actually trying to follow the steps I suggested. Sometimes it's like pulling teeth while herding cats while carrying a hot potato uphill both ways...bah you get it...   :D

Hide update list IS disabled! I set it to "no" but I don't see update list anywhere. when I have updated my list, i'll provide you with log file and ini file

If you don't update (within the GameEx interface, not setup wizard) then the filter will not function properly.

Also, set "verify" to no or else it filters out all sorts of titles that are quite playable, just not perfect.
