Tom Speirs
I'm out of the loop on the customized versions of XDMD out there so it may be worth disabling your real dmd and see if that is causing issues.
xagesz
Turned it all down. To just 1 system . VPX. Then to just VP. Then to just FX3. I can get the system to crash on each one in the exact same manner. However my crashing in the event viewer is what this is showing me. All 3 the same error codes
Tom Speirs
hmm. I think its something external. Odd that it shows .net version 4 as it runs under 2/3.5. It could be xdmd or something. Again, I am out of the loop on the custom versions.
xagesz
Hmm. I am out of ideas.. I reinstalled pbx again. So its using your xdmd and its doing the same. so one less thing on my list of possibilities. What all is different in terms of needs between 2.65 and 2.67? 2.65 works just fine. but .67 crashes. How many things could be different?
Tom Speirs
It looks like you may have disabled some services on your system including windows error reporting. If you turn windows error reporting back on it may give some more info.
Tom Speirs
The DirectX API library was moved to SlimDX and videos were to moved VMR9 hardware accelerated. Its quite possible it could cause issues for some folks.
xagesz
Is it possible for me to disable hw acceleration?
Tom Speirs
No. VMR9 is always hardware accelerated.
xagesz
Just now, Tom Speirs said: No Just trying to find a way to test specific differences.
Tom Speirs
But you had issues with the earlier release right which is before I changed the video rendering. so it may be something else. The exception is also unhandled which indicates something external.
xagesz
I used to have issues months ago before I standarized all my video containers. 2.65 works flawlessly... just a bit slow. No crashing. no problems.
Tom Speirs
Well, Ill be fixing things but keeping the changes. Did you try the latest Lav?
xagesz
Made sure Lavs were uptodate. Updated Video Drivers. Reinstalled PBX and VPX AIO for DX and .Net. IS your collection 600 strong on the cab like mine? All 4K videos. All less than 3mb avg is my guess after aquick look
Tom Speirs
Its not that big. It could be the problem. Maybe you can troubleshoot with a smaller list?
xagesz
When I tuned down to just vpx, fx i had 300, 100, 200, 50 models all crashing.
Tom Speirs
I didn't realise you were using 4k videos. That gives me something to test.
xagesz
Sorry lol. My bad. Yes I am running EVERYTHING at 4k. Static images for Backglass. But 4K Playfield. Also... I have issues getting custom dmd videos to play with my pin2dmd. but thats not as important to me at the moment.
Tom Speirs
Well, all I can really do is test 4k videos at a 2k res. That all seems okay to me so far. Hopefully some others will chime in.
Tom Speirs
Its also worth checking LAV is actually getting used by running PinballX in windowed mode and checking. You could have some other codecs on your system.
Tom Speirs
I did find one issue. Here is an exe to try. PinballX.zip
xagesz
No change for me. HOWEVER>>> I can't find any sign in my windows process tree that PBX is running LAV Filters. If I open a video through windows media player I can see them running though. Ideas?
Tom Speirs
I'm not sure where your looking but I'm not sure you will see anything in task manager. I certainly can't. You should look at the lav video settings and run PinballX in windowed mode.
xagesz
If i run lav and pinballx. I get no videos at all for the most part. They are hit and miss now.
Tom Speirs
I'm not with you, sorry. What exactly are you doing. Did you enable the tray icon? Is it showing up? Just enable the tray icons and see if they are showing up.
xagesz
Tray icon is enabled. Before my videos acted as such in the video in dropbox. Now i just get black screen. Occassionally a video plays in the screen for me to see. Lav Video Settings is open on my backglass to watch for anything.
