When will we see the updated DB so we can add Contra, Half-Life, Deathsmiles, etc.?

Just finished testing the more obscure ones. Some problematic:

Far Cry doesn't get past the 'searching for dongle' screen

HL2 - runs great but in 720p - i.e. just floats over desktop - can't get to run fullscreen

Silent Hill Arcade - won't run above windows 7. Read you can run on a virtual machine, but beyond the scope of this app.

Pop n'Music - couldn't get past boot

I'l buy you a pint, Draco if you can get any of those buggers working...

HL2 is set in stone for the display resolution so nothing much you can do about that, but still good to have for those that are Half-Life fans.

Far Cry - YGM that may or may not get you closer to getting it working. Not much can be done about SH.

@Lamaman1971 - hi - recognise you from byoac. Guessing you found the alpha links

There's a brief overview in Help>Next Steps.

It relies on specific modified game files which aren't distributed with TypeXtra itself. You'll have to source these.

Thanks for trying it out and let me know any difficulties.

Hmmmm... OK

So tested this in the wilds this holiday season (read: tried to get it working on my main rig).

On the whole it's tickety-boo, however, one thing reared it's ugly type-x head... Windows placements on multi-display setups...

For those who don't know, Type-X exes often change the resolution of the main screens and move around the windows. This left me with the problem of GameEx coming back on the wrong display!

I've got the display arrangement/resolutions etc covered via multimonitor.exe, but I'm left with the problem of Type-X games re-arranging windows on screens and not putting them back again! One work around is to use the disable display feature in TypeXtra, but, well ya know me... if it's worth doing...

So in the middle of a class to record and restore all the window states either side of the TypeX launch.

Sure some of you guys have experience of this - any tips?

I haven't encountered that but I only have a single display at this time.
