firestarter44 Posted November 2, 2015 Share Posted November 2, 2015 Hopefully I'm posting this in the correct place; new to GAME EX, very familiar with Hyperspin and Max Arcade but this was the best touchscreen FE I could find, so I paid for it and it works very much how I'd expect. I am having a few issues, the first one is that I have 2 casino games (hoyle casino 2011 and 2012). At first I was able to launch both from GEX, but now only 2011 works, I will post my RUNITGAME.BAT so you can see what's happening. On the front end, it just tries to run it and then closes right back into the FE, not sure how to fix this or if there's an issue with a setting I tweaked. Please help....Ok, so I apparently cannot upload that file, so I will cut and paste... chcp 65001C:CD "C:\Program Files (x86)\Encore\Hoyle\Hoyle Casino Games 2012\" "C:\Windows\Installer\{5E831AA8-13CD-412A-B39A-042AC369C33F}\NewShortcut4_670D3434D05C40C08AFFF5A8B814D531.exe" Casino 2011 (working) looks the same, but the first line and second line are the same. tthurman Posted November 2, 2015 Share Posted November 2, 2015 Welcome to the GameEx forums firestarter44You actually had this in the Convert-IT software suite support area, but no biggie, I moved it over to GameEx general for your support question.Personally I don't use GameEx to launch PC games, but it is commonly done. Someone with more experience with this than I have will probably chime in soon, in the meantime you may want to check this thread, as the solution will likely be similar to that discussion. Sorry in advance for any confusion that may cause. I would try setting up your windows games as tthurman suggested in the link he provided. This may alleviate the errors you are running into. It ends with them saying they closed the application and now it magically works. I've closed the app hundreds of times and after restarting it nothing is different. There isn't a solution in the thread.You're correct that there isn't a exact detailed direction given that shows the solution in that thread, but what it does show is how GameEx can be configured to play PC games by using the same principals employed to launch emulators. It's a bit out of the box, but once you've been exposed to it, it will make much more sense to you. I read through that one, it's not rocket science it seems, but even when it's configured properly my hoyle casino 2011 and spot the diff game work fine with all my settings, but my hoyle slots 2012 and hoyle casino 2012 all seem to have this problem. No matter how I configure it. Since they are "Full screen direct x games" I even went through the options and found that the "hide windows" option shouldn't be turned on for this, I've toggled it every different way I can figure out and still these two games do not run. The games run fine if you jsut launch them from the shortcut, I've tried new shortcuts, tried creating a .bat file and using the section for external applications, nothing seems to work. It seems to autopopulate for these two games. Just added another windows game, works just fine like the others. Just these two dx games. If it was working before, then something has changed in your environment as there haven't been any recent changes to GameEx that I can think of that would contribute. I allowed the game ex arcade (add 3000 games etc) and evry time I try to run one, it just opens with a broken flash icon at the top left. It's best to keep troubleshooting threads separate from one another due to this, otherwise it makes things incredibly hard to follow for those that might happen upon this thread with something they have a quick solution for, but instead see the topic suddenly changing, and instead decide not to chime in.Please stay on topic with this one, and open an additional thread for other issues unrelated to this one.Lots of people into this hobby, and so there are many different goals based on each users on preferences.
