randr
I was super excited to try this!!! but still atleast for me does not save. Tom should i try without clear script with this version or just the nvram saving?
Tom Speirs
I am not sure. The thing it does different is close the player window. In my testing I can see the window is closing but maybe that is not enough.
Tom Speirs
The attached waits a bit longer after closing the window. I think this is the right direction but it might need tweaking. It should exit the "player" and return to the editor cleanly at least. I would have thought that should be enough.PinballX.zip
Tom Speirs
Here is another one with a crazy long delay just to prove the concept.PinballX.zip
randr
Will try them tonight after dinner with the wife! Thanks tom!
randr
neither helped. funny thing is even the super long delay still did not allow VP to clear dmd or ledwiz outputs like VP direct run. I know that NVram saved back in the first few releases1.50 days as i changed a lot of tables to 5 ball while running through pinballx.... could it be related to having VP and vpinmame installed in program files folders? I do have admin rights on everything full rights on all security on all the folders...I could try and "move" VP and Vpinmame to root to see if it fixes problem but would need to image my hard drive first or you think thats not it?BTW everything else has been perfect! the strange crashs are gone for some time now! runs great!!! Tom Speirs
I don't think its a security thing if VP is actually closing but I know despite file rights PX does need to run as admin with recent versions of VP as VP requires admin.Could you test running PX and VP in a window and see what happens when the player windows closes or if it does? Tom Speirs
Just did some more testing and if the popup exit window is visible in VP it won't close the player window. So if your exit key is set to escape what I did won't help. I will look into that but try and provide me some more feedback based on this and my post above. Tom Speirs
Do you not see the player window close and then the editor in the background?
randr
I see the pause/quit/debug resume window then vp closes
Tom Speirs
Yeah I think that is the issue when the exit key is set to escape. Try setting it to something else. Not sure if you can set the menu to another key in VP but that would also work.
randr
Strange thing is no matter what I use to quit emulator it always gas that resume window at exit
Tom Speirs
hmm. Try the attached. This sends a space key to resume the game.PinballX.zip
randr
TOM!!! i found a way it does work...thanks to the loafer.map pause to whatever exit is, brings up PX pause menu then select exit game and NVRAM then saves! why would that work?
Tom Speirs
Which version of VP are you using?
Tom Speirs
Again, try the latest exe above. When using in game/pause the VP player window is minimized, that is probably why.

randr
tried your latest test and still not working.put pause back to e (same as exit) and by pausing then quiting it does indeed work every time.

Tom Speirs
Not sure why it is not working. Did you switch back to fullscreen? That could be why. Please try the attached. Id like to hear what others experience too.My VP is a bit behind so I may need to test with the latest.PinballX.zip
Tom Speirs
Latest version of vp I can find is what I am using, 9.15 or 9.21 at vpforums. If your using some kind of Beta its a bit hard for me to work with that.
randr
I'll need to try it in morning...the wife will kill me if I walk to cab one more time today! Lol!!! Should I try this version windowed or full?
Tom Speirs
It shouldn't matter with the above but again not sure where VP 932 is!
Tom Speirs
If its not working I think its the version of VP. If you tell me where to find 932 I will take a look. maybe something to do with a move to Direct3D. Not sure.
