Tom Speirs
Im not enjoying saying this but you will likely have to upgrade to windows 7 or 8/8.1 to properly resolve the issue. It runs best on Windows 8+ and Ive had no issues on any of my systems with various GPUs with VP, FP, FP + BAM and MAME but I have not used XP other than for testing for years. insx
That's a shame, looks like I might have to use Hyperpin. I can't even figure out how to exit VP with Hyperpin though!
Tom Speirs
Please try 1.68 just released and set the full screen in window option. Ive released most of the fixes from this topic in 1.
Tom Speirs
Also could you guys please confirm if PinballX ever worked without these issues and which version if at all.
tttttwii
Tom, the old revisions 5-6 updates ago worked like a charm. No crash. Since then you have integrated MAME, increased the number of tables to 347, updated the database feature & did some performance tweaking. I think that problems are coming from this updates. 1.57 was running stable on my Win XP 32 setup. Not a single crash! Regards Torsten
insx
I would be interested in trying an old version.
Tom Speirs
Like I said, fortunately I have SVN. I have the source and build for 157. I am just downloading it now. Hold on. This will determine if its caused by something else or not.

Tom Speirs
Here is 1.57. Full install. I don't like people using older versions so please help me fix it for the current release.Cheers.TomEDIT: I've changed the topic title. Would that be accurate?PinballXSetup.zip
insx
I'll try 1.57 tonight. The topic title is fine by me if this issue in only happening with XP and nVidia.
insx
Good news, I exited about 20 times without a crash. However, if I have to use ALT+TAB to bring the DMD to the front it will usually crash. This shouldn't be an issue for me when my 3rd screen is fixed. antonius1
I will try V1.57 and v1.68 tomorrow. I have WinXP and Nvidia too. I Use the Nvidia driver V.
clutester
I had the same problem. It was really frustrating because i knew everything worked beforehand. I almost went back to HyperPin. 1.68 fixed all my problems with crashing and DMDs on B2S tabes. Everything works as it use without a hitch. I really appreciate the quick turnaround for updates. tttttwii
1.68 is not working for me. With the ingame pause key I am not coming out ouf the table. Visual pinball return to the tables after setting playfield and screen for a short time to black. When I exit with "esc" the table quits to the desktop.Similar is 1.57. It first worked quite stable, than while going into ingame menu pinballx crashed.
antonius1
The same for me. With Ingame button i can't leave the table. Playfield and backglass are going black for about 0.5 seconds, and then the table returns. If i don't use the Ingame button, all seems to work perfect, i can exit the table with the ExitEmulator key, and i can leave PinballX with the Quit key. But once i have pressed the Ingame key then leaving the table with the ExitEmulator key will crash PinballX. I have now reconfigured my buttons. I try to use PinballX without Ingamefunction.I downloaded the V1.57 from above. This version seems to be V1.58. I have the same problems with it. insx
Oh dear, I spoke too soon. Fresh boot, PinballX started, fired up MM, exited MM with Exit Emulator button, played a 10 minute game on MB, exited MB, crashed to desktop. Version 1.68 that seemed to work so well yesterday. Draco1962
All - Please post your log files " post crash" along with a copy of your .ini file and any pertinent info such as OS and codecs installed. This is something we shouldn't have to ask for every time someone reports a problem, especially those that have been asked before. You may not think it is warranted or that the info contained is useful, but you are doing yourself and the author a disservice in trying to make things right by having to ask - wait - ask again.
