  1. Hello, I've been using PinBallX for some time and wouldn't go any other way. I am a bit confused as to some of the folders in PinBallX. For example, the loading folders. I'm using Visual Pinball 10.7.2 as my only emulator. I put a few loading png's into C:\PinballX\Media\Loading Images, as the images do load it seems they load randomly even with the same file names. Their other media files load so I know I have the names right lol. I guess my question is can you have a loading screen for each table? If so how is this done? Is there some documentation on folders and subfolders in PinballX? Thanks for any info or help, Spacegoogie
  2. just for when the bug / problem / cause has been found with video's not displaying for first table loaded, I already created a loading video for my system it's 1920x1080 if you run in portrait i included the seperate images (1080x1920) to create a video (or first gif to convert to video online) in this zip file: loading.zip the video itselve (although rotated in 1920x1080 resolution) is included in the zip also. You can also use one of the images as a loading image Here's the preview. The dots change every second and it works well if the video is played repeatedly / in a loop (what pinballx does with loading video's) Do note loading video's in pinballx are not rotated so you have to create them as how you would see them normally without rotation so below's video is good if you run in landscape mode (270° rotation) they don't have to be in same rotation as playfield videos feel free to share your loading video's in this topic Loading.mp4
  3. We've got topics for loading images and loading videos so i figured we may as well have one for loading gifs following pinballx v3.76 (https://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/23261-news-pinballx-376/). Edit : there was a topic for loading gifs already! https://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/17042-pbx-206-animated-gifs/, check that out for a few more options. Loading gifs will be automatically placed in the centre of the screen on top of a playfield snapshot if this option is set under Settings; I've converted the DMD style image sequences i use for Loading Videos as pseudo semi transparent gifs for this use. Extract from the zip and save them to your PinballX\Media\Loading Images\ folder, Pinballx will pick one at random as an overlay on the playfield image during table load. If you want more flexibility but not straight out of the box options then you should check the Loading Videos topic. Two versions of the GIFs available, with the background lighter (more transparent) or darker (less transparent), try both and pick whichever suits your tastes best (or use both versions if you want). Gifs based mainly on DMD colourisation work; http://vpuniverse.com/forums/forum/138-pin2dmd-dmd-colorization-works-in-progress/ Please share your own! GIFs_Dark.zip GIFs_Light.zip
  4. Ongoing thread for the sharing of custom Loading Images. **NOTE: Backup existing loading.png file on your system (in another location). Rename the new loading image to loading.png and replace the original file. As Jannek states in the thread below., if you wish to use multiple images and have PBX randomly select them, simply add the extra images to the 'Loading Images' folder.
  5. Hi folks, I'm a newbie here and this is my first post (Hi!). Firstly thanks for PinballX, it's really cool. I set up vpinball and pinballx on a 3 screen setup and everything worked perfectly with: 43" UHD LG TV for the playfield (set to 1920x1080 until I get a better graphics card) 32" 2560x1440 viewsonic monitor for the backglass an old 15" LCD monitor for the DMD My monitors are setup L to R for playfield,BG,DMD in windows10, aligned at the top, 100% scaling with the appropriate resolutions, all good. The various screens are destined for a cab but at the moment they festoon my dining room :). My problem started when I had to replace my BG monitor due to dead pixels. I swapped it for an LG 32" 1920x1080 TV, and adjusted all the settings and everything is now almost perfect as before, EXCEPT that now when I select Play in pinballx, the screen that shows while vpinballx loads up (with white LOADING graphic on a black background) appears on the backglass monitor - sideways of course, since it should be on the playfield monitor. During this time the desktop is displayed on the playfield monitor. Nothing I can do changes this. What I have tried: Deleting registry settings for monitor setup and re-adding the screens one by one (I comprehensively purged the registry) Deleting and reinstalling pinballx Reinstalling the graphics card drivers Changing the monitor layout to be vertically stacked (with appropriate cfg adjustments) Turning off CEC on the BG LG monitor Using the mouse to focus the LOADING screen and pressing shift-windows-cursor_left which does successfully move it onto the playfield, but it doesn't stick and next time pinballx is started it is as before. As 6. but alt-F4 to quit the program after moving it Changing every setting there is, both via the setup wizards and hand-editing the cfg files Starting pinballx in windowed mode, with a view to dragging the window onto the playfield. When I do this I get a null pointer exception in the logs (or rather the CLR style "reference is not set to an object" exception). There is no traceback or anything else useful in there. everything else I always launch PinballX from the main monitor but the grey and blue PinballX splash screen (and LOADING screen) always now show on the backglass monitor. I know people like to see ini and log files but believe me, I have changed the ini file at least 70 times in the last two weeks so any submission would just be the ini du jour. What I would like to know is, what controls which monitor the LOADING screen appears on? Thanks for any advice!
  6. HI all I have a bastard of a problem. When using PinballX (great frontend btw) It takes 20 seconds too much of waiting time to do .... I donno From VPX(10.7) "file open" to the table appears it takes 4 sec. hitting play to I am able to play the table 15 sec. all together From PinballX (same table) from hitting start to I am able to play it takes 35 sec. exactly 20 sec. where one screen is either black og showing a loading screen. I tried to delete all in the: Pinballx\Media\Loading Images then is shows a black screen in 20 sec. Now it just a battle I dont want to loose :-) They are not gonna get me, but I need help before I format my PC :-) My conclusion is: It is not VPX that is the problem, but there is a delay on excatly 20 sec. somewhere in PinballX And yes I have tried the newest version of PinballX 4.32. I have not tried to "downgrade" perhaps?
  7. Been adding games with Game manager and not really used Pinball X that much, worked fine early on but stopped working a while ago. Get stuck at loading and from there I can't do anything except log off user Windows user to end program. Not seeing the problem in logs 20:15:13.2 2018-01-29: Started 20:17:29.1 2018-01-29: Launch System 20:17:29.1 2018-01-29: Waiting for threads 20:17:29.1 2018-01-29: Disposing display 20:17:30.0 2018-01-29: D:\Pinball\Visual Pinball\VPinballX.exe /play -"D:\Pinball\Visual Pinball\Tables\Scared Stiff (Midway 1996).vpx" Tried the line above from Run... works fine. 8. hi guys, little problem with FP... open pinballx, select FP table (ac/dc ledwiz supported) loading table... during loading some windows of FP appears after that start FP loading table page everything fine, table loaded but pinballx is over FP and controls don't work, work only Pinballx controls so: i've to press Alt+Tab to swap FP window and after FP controls works PinballX.ini
  9. I just found out about the Merge Sets option. So, I have turned it on for my Playstation emulator. (It works wonderfully, btw). But when I go click into "Final Fantasy VII", it shows a "loading" screen for about 7 or 8 seconds. It doesn't take that long to load on startup, or when going into the initial Playstation emulated games screen. I have verified that the loading is coming from the Merge Sets option being enabled. I can go into a game that has only 1 .iso file and no subfolders, and it will do the same thing. Disabling Merge Sets stops the loading screen from showing up. I'm just curious if the behavior I'm experiencing is normal, or not. If it's not normal, I can post up my .ini and log files. Just let me know.
  10. Hello all! I was very happy to see the new version of GameEx this morning, and all of its new features seems to be excellant! There is just one problem I am having though when trying to start up the new version of GameEx - It stops responding and Windows shuts it down. I have tried uninstalling it and then manually downloading it and reinstalling, but it still does the same thing. Is there anything in Windows that I have to update to get it to run correctly? I'm attaching the log file that was created after running the 12.71 version.- I've downgraded to the 12.65 version, lol its the only other version that was saved on my harddisk. Thanks in advance!! LC [EDIT] - Oh, lol, failed to mention before - I am running Windows 7. log.txt
