[uS] Lives: 3 Bonus Life: 20000 Difficulty: Hard * Special Rules: This is a Single Player ONLY variation! NOTE: In MAME 0.106 the dip switches are backwards for MEDIUM & HARD. Please set your dip switches to MEDIUM as this will be the tracking for HARD difficulty. This only counts for MAME 0.106. Being an old version of MAME you probably just have to set your dip switches to HARD as stated above. # you can change your Mame dip switch settings by following this guide > link # you can make a printscreen of your hi-score screen by following this guide > link # general rules for submitting you hi-score > link # the above settings are the default Twin Galaxies settings > link The first created "Hi-Score Competition - Mario Bros." - thread unfortunately wasn't setup according to the rules we finally agreed upon. Post #1 didn't have a summary of the gamesettings which have to be used. A few scores were submitted but which settings were used is not clear. That's why this new Mario Bros. thread is created. The old one will be blocked for new submissions. Hoping for your understanding. Please submit your new Mario Bros Hi-Scores to this new thread and use the above settings! Only these new submissions are valid and will count for the Leaderboard. Good luck and have fun! GC * p.s.: I have chosen for difficulty "Hard" because this is - by far - the most used setting at Twin Galaxies.

  3. Welcome to our GameEx Hi-Score Competition !! Because we want everybody to participate in a fair Hi-Score competition there are some basic rules we would like you to follow when submitting your Hi-Score. Don't worry, it's pretty straightforward To make it even more easy we've also created a few guides: # Guide > Making sure Mame is using the correct settings # Guide > Take a snapshot of your Mame Hi-Score Screen or use Adultery's Hi-Score Snapper tool (recommended) # Extra Guide > Use a Customized Hi-Score MAP File; this MAP file is for use with GameEx which allows you to have a customized version of the ROM list displaying ONLY those games included in our competition Rules for submitting your hi-score 1) Use the correct (dip-switch) settings when playing your Mame-game Look for the Hi-Score Competition-thread of the game you want to play and read post #1 for the settings you have to use when you want to submit your hi-score. 2) Only use 1 credit per game || Continues are NOT allowed * 3) Submit a screenshot of your hi-score screen 4) Be honorable and play with no cheats or hacks 5) You're allowed to submit as many hi-scores as you like ** * When continues are not available (e.g. Donkey Kong) the use of more credits are allowed but we still prefer the use of 1 credit . This prevents us having to check each game for the availability of continues. ** In post #1 of each Hi-Score Competition thread a Hi-Score Table is shown with the top hi-score of each player. You're allowed to submit as many hi-scores as you want. Your personal best score will be shown in the Hi-Score Table. This will prevent having a 'top player' populate the entire hi-score table. In other words: you can beat your score and we will update the table showing your personal best score. # Please read this short walkthrough before submitting your hi-score: 1) Use the correct settings and play your game a. Look for the Hi-Score Competition-thread of the game you want to play b. Read post #1 for the (dip-switch) settings you have to use when you want to sumbit your hi-score c. Start the Mame-game of your choice and follow this guide (> link) to make sure Mame uses the correct dip-switch settings d. Play your game and make a screenshot of your hi-score screen * * We have also made a short guide (> link) on how to make a printscreen of your hi-score screen (thank you Hansolo !). This method prevents having a black image after pasting your printscreen. It uses Mame to capture the screenshot while it's playing a game without needing to use any extra software (e.g. Fraps) or special mobile devices. 2) Submit your hi-score Reply to the Hi-Score competition-topic of your game and add the following info: > Your score > Settings used of post #1 (please add this comment as a confirmation you have used the correct settings) > Version of Mame used (Example: Mame 147 compiled) > Screenshot of your hi-score The settings being used for each game are the default settings Twin Galaxies uses. Twin galaxies is an organization that tracks video game world records since 1981. A fair competition is created as everybody uses the same settings. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and send me a PM Have fun playing Mame and setting hi-scores ! Thank you, ~ Hi-Score Team tgts.pdf
  4. Hi everybody, we would like to welcome you to our new GameEx Hi-Score Competition ! We are very happy the Admins / Mods have given us a dedicated Hi-Score subforum This gave us the possibility to create an even more interesting competition Do you love to play Arcade / Mame games like Donkey Kong, Galaga, Centipede and Mario Bros.? You're more than welcome to join our competition ! # New Hi-Score games Because we would like to add games to our hi-score competition - which YOU love to play - we kindly ask you to cast your vote in our Polls. Game of the Month Poll Each month we have a Game of the Month Poll. The most voted game will become "Game of the Month" and will be added to our hi-score competition. You can still cast your vote for "Game of the Month - June" > link Extra Games Poll We also create additional polls to add new games to our competition. In this poll everyone can choose their 5 favorite games and the top 5 voted games will be added to our hi-score competition. Please follow this link to cast your vote. # Hi-Score Leaderboard Your hi-score position on each game will earn you points for our newly created Leaderboard. You can now choose to not only compete for one specific game but you can also try to become our best Hi-Score player A newcomer to our competition has the same chances for a good leaderboard-position as someone already playing our Hi-score competition for a while. Each hi-score game can be played constantly and your hi-score position on each game determines your Leaderboard total. A Hi-Score Game of the Month has the same rules and points scoring system as any hi-score game. However, after each month the results will be published in our Game of the Month Winners thread and the winner will also be rewarded with a 'champion banner' to add to their signature. After each month the previous "Game of the Month" will become a regular hi-score game and can be played constantly. You can check - at any moment - your leaderboard total by simply adding up the individual points of your current hi-score game positions. # Joining our Hi-Score Competition When you want to join our competition and submit a hi-score we kindly ask you to use our default game-settings (see post #1 of each game-thread), only use 1 credit per game and submit a screenshot of your hi-score screen. And of course: be honorable and play with no cheats or hacks Helpfull links / guides: * Rules & settings thread; this includes a short walk-through for submitting you hi-score * Making sure Mame is using the correct game settings * Making a print screen of your Mame Hi-score screen Please leave a reply if you have any questions Happy Hi-Scoring, GC and Han
