  1. I downloaded the tapatalk app for free and I'm able to take a pic from my phone and instantly upload it. That works really well.
  2. I think it would be awesome to get this going. If it could be something just included in Gameex that would be awesome. It sounds like a great deal of work though… as far as programming and what not. I would not be the go to guy on that, believe me! Haha. I'm wondering if we don't get the interest level going and maybe get a few of us to post their top 10 MAME games. That way we can pick a game from the lists and ensure each person has the game that wants to play. Then just take a pic and upload it. Maybe we could even get a dedicated subject in the forum? Like I said, my friend and I picked Mario Bros. and we emailed scores to each other. I sent 72,800, but my friend destroyed it with like 114,000. This is all I send, pic below:
  3. I tried InstantSheller and really liked it. However, I use my cabinet as an entertainment hub too and I didn't like the way it switched back from Gameex to windows. A friend told me about the startup folder in the start menu of Windows 7. If you copy and paste the Gameex shortcut desktop icon into that file it'll just automatically load Gameex after starting windows. It works pretty well. Not sure if that's an option in XP.
  4. I recently refurbished an X-Men Children of the Atom cabinet for a friend. We started picking random games to have friendly hi score competitions. Currently, we are attacking Mario Bros. I know there was the online gameplay deal setup through Gameex a little while back. I'm wondering if anyone has ever thought of having a friendly hi score competition. Maybe pick a different game every month and post pics of our hi scores. I find that this little friendly competition makes me enjoy my cabinet even more. I used to love it a ton mostly when friends were over.
  5. I was able to ctrl+alt+del on the black screen and get into my task manager. From there, I started the Instantsheller program by way of a process. I then was able to 'undo changes' and I am back to full functionality within windows after a reboot. I still would like to use the instant sheller. Is there a way to use the program, but still easily transition to windows from gameex?? I have stuff on here that I like to use once in awhile, other than gameex (sorry Tom, haha). Is the sheller just an option for those looking to only run gameex? GameEx.ini log.txt
  6. I just downloaded and set up the shelled option to go right to game ex on start up. It works great and goes right into gameex. However, I cannot seem to find a way to get back to windows now. When I exit gameex, my screen just stays black. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong... Thanks.
  7. Well, I restarted the computer. Then I went back and restored default settings a second time. I then restarted a third time and it was back to normal. It appears more of a software (OPERATOR) issue than a hardware thing. Ah well, I'm thankful Andy over at Ultimarc is so accomodating with questions.
  8. Ok, so I just did some work on my control panel. I put in a couple of mag stik plus joysticks. I had to do some drilling to install these, as my previous joysticks had different hole locations. I decided to remove all the push buttons and trackball as well. That way I could put on some polycarbonate, which looks fantastic. When I put it all back together, everything works great. EXCEPT THIS ONE STUBBORN PUSHBUTTON!!!!!! Basically it only seems to register when the button is released. I'm using the iPac4 to wire the control panel. I have the stubborn push button wired to the NO and ground (ground looped through whole panel) on the switch. This is the same wiring setup I used for every pushbutton. I tried a new switch, which did not fix the issue. I then tried to rewire that specific push button, which did not fix the issue. It's the player 2 button 2 push button. I reset the default settings for the ipac 4 and then reprogrammed the controls I switched, that did not fix the issue. It's starting to drive me nuts!!! Has anyone else had this issue?? Thanks!
  9. Nope, not yet. I was just thinking to check here and see if anyone else was having the issue. I'm also not totally sure if its something I did wrong or screwed up. I'll check with them too. I'll look into the file names first.
  10. Well, originally I downloaded it all myself. I am assuming most of my files are from doing that. I always add a game here and there as I find something interesting or remember something I liked back in the day. So, in the past I was downloading everything from emumovies and I had the life long membership deal. Now, I just allow it to auto download right inside gameex by checking the box or whatever it is in gameex wizard to allow that service. I had NBA JAM way before emumovies direct downloads were even an option in gameex. The NBA JAM artwork never had an issue before, none of the games had any artwork issues. Then all of a sudden I started noticing problems, where artwork and videos weren't lined up to the correct game. Maybe I'll just delete my artwork files, download them again from emu and just turn off the auto download option in the wizard. I'm thinking that might be easiest. I'd rather not start looking into all these files and renaming files.
  11. It's completely off. The video is for a completely different game, sometimes ones I don't even have. The one I can recall off the top of my head is for a background. When I select NBA JAM, it used to have the NBA JAM background. Now, for some reason or another it has a space invaders background. I have no idea why and I have not messed with my rom naming at all. The only thing I have ever done was use romcenter to fix roms or identify missing stuff. However, I did that way in the past and the artwork was working fine before that. I haven't really looked into the artwork folders themselves, but I'm not sure what would've changed there. I'm wondering if maybe something is off for certain roms in emu movies...
  12. I seem to having some sort of issue with my artwork and the direct link to downloading from emu movies. Some of my backgrounds and videos are off for certain games. I never had an issue before, but all of sudden some of the games are off. I don't think it would be a name issue for the rom.... I'm wondering if anyone can help or has had this problem. GameEx.ini
  13. Hey all, When I built my arcade, I did not have a great deal of knowledge when it came to 4-way and 8-way controllers. I loved fighting games back in the day, so I went with the HAPP Competition 8-way controller. However, the thing is pretty poor with games that utilized the 4-way model. I am wondering what you guys might recommend in regards to a good joystick that switches between 4-way and 8-way fairly easily and would be an under mount that fits a 3/4" thick panel. I found the Mag-Stik Plus over at Ultimarc.com. That one looks very nice and seems to fit what I'm looking for. I am just a little hesitant on the $35 price tag I guess. Any recommendations?? Thanks!
  14. Guilty as charged, I remember saying something about that. My apologies and I'll brush up on the rules. Thanks.
  15. Whoa, I'm sorry. I don't even know what I did to be honest with you. I am looking at my post and the only thing I can even seem to come up with is that I may have missed the o and hit the i in an above word, which I don't even want to write anymore. I love getting help and hints on this forum and I would never do anything to jeopardize my membership. Can you message me what I did? I feel terrible. Again, very sorry.
  16. Nice to see the iCade getting some love. I chose this as my avatar when I first joined and haven't changed it since. I like the look of this miniature dock, but you really cannot beat the experience of the iCade, unless I get on my full sized cab and play. The iCade is a nice one player option though.
  17. Config Looks like I need to work on some artwork paths.. that could be the issue....
  18. joeb180, Thanks for the kind words, especially from an artist. Be careful with the blik. I love them and they worked great. However, if you are putting them over a dark color you cannot really use all of them. I tried to put the mario ground/grass on the bottom of the cabinet sides, but the black bled through pretty bad. The others seemed to work just fine. The material just isn't all that thick, not even close to the laminate from gameongrafix. However, that stuff is pricey. I would still buy this stuff again and I love it. I just wanted to make sure you knew it was not that thick. You can remove it and move it around though, which is nice. I however cannot, because I have dogs and I'm worried the dog hair would get behind the sticker. GeorgeT Yeah, I was really happy when I found the plating. It was actually very cheap. I originally went to Home Depot and it was about $50 and needed to be cut down. I decided to shop around on the internet and came across Tread Ware. Here is a link if you're interested: http://tread-ware.com/ Here is a direct link to the kick plates: https://store.tread-...tegory_Code=420
  19. Sorry Draco, I'm aware of the log thing and that's my bad. I guess I'm just not sure it was an action that lead me to believe there was an issue with GameEx, although it hadn't happened before. Since we have one more with the screen flicker, i'll get my files posted. I'm on the tail end of four dog watch shifts, so if its not up tonight I will get it up Sunday. Thanks!
  20. I just pushed through the last few updates to gameex. I was in the process of painting my cab for about 2 weeks and nothing was connected, as to not get paint on everything. I updated everything when I got the equipment back inside. The program is still working great, so I don't think it's a bug or anything. I just have noticed now that at the beginning launch of gameex, my screen flickers a bit and goes black a couple times for maybe a second at most. I actually almost like it, as it brings the feeling of an arcade starting up in the old days. I'm just wondering if this is a known addition or just something I'm dealing with.
  21. Holy Batman, this whole thread has blown my mind. I have mainly been content to just have some roms not work. I have the .144 version of MAME. I have pretty much everything working, thanks to a wonderful item called 'romcenter.' Which basically fixes your roms. www.romcenter.com. However, I have tried multiple times to get KI2 and above, soul calibur 2 and above, MK4 among others to work without success. I also have not been able to get NFL Blitz to work without it basically looking like I am trying to play counterstrike via dialup in the 90's. As far as most go, I get the error that says sound and video are not 100% emulated for these games. They do not work and there is nothing you can do. I just took that as gold and stopped. You mean to tell me I can get NFL Blitz and MK4 working flawlessly somehow? I thought I was done with my cab!! haha. I ended up downloading the PS1 emulator to play those two.
  22. Cool, thanks for the info. nullpointer. The bottle opener has an old orange crush bottle cap on it. I found it on amazon.com for pretty cheap. The side art is actually just wall decals/stickers. I got the marquee and bezel from gameongrafix.com, but the side art was pretty spendy on their website. I found www.whatisblik.com while randomly looking at thinkgeek.com. They have an assortment of video game themed wall decals. The mario set was only $75 for 3 sheets of misc. decals. It was very hard deciding on which stickers to get. They had the old mario 8bit? graphics too. I thought this would look the best as side art though. Here's a link to the video game theme wall decals if anyone is interested. http://www.whatisblik.com/shop/explore?theme=77 Thanks for the kind words on the cabinet.
  23. Wow, I finally finished my cabinet!! The cabinet name is 'Metacarpal Madness.' Which was because I broke the 4th metacarpal in my right hand trying to drill out starter holes for the coin door. My wife came up with it. I think mostly out of mocking me, but it stuck! haha I think it turned out pretty good. I have a main power button on the control panel and also a bottle opener on the side. That was a must! The control panel can be removed for ease of moving through doorways. I can post more on it if people like it. I uploaded a few photos of the end result. I am now looking into some finishing touches. Are these things really ever done!?! They are a nice hobby though, that's for sure. I have always wanted to get a spinner and a couple of aimtrac guns from ultimarc. But, with my daughter in daycare our funds are a little tight. I already have a wii and 4 rechargeable wiimotes, which i actually use to play mame on my ipad at times. I am wondering if anyone can direct me to a site of reference where I can get a step by step guide on setting up the use of wiimotes in mame, as well as using them in the Nestopia emulator among others. In the end I think I will have a spinner on the control panel and purchase the wheel attachment at ultimarc. That way I can at least play a little pole position or APB without too much trouble. I put 2 USB ports on the outside of both sides of the control panel, in anticipation of the aimtrac guns and other USB items (ipod, etc) Max
  24. Naborneo, did you ever do a theme with these logos that can be downloaded??
