  1. The saga continues! Since changing the folder to english, the game now crashes. So I guess what I'm really asking is how do I write a batch file with japanese in it?
  2. You can delete this. The japanese was the problem (I didn't even see it until I posted). Which sucks, I have like 60 doujin games I'm doing this for. Bleh.
  3. Hey, whats up? The noob questions continue! I'm trying to run a game called Vanguard Princess through a batch file. The game has to be run through AppLocal because it's a japanese game, and I can run the game through applocal just fine. I've also created a shortcut for the whole process, so I can just double click the shortcut and the game loads. But I'm trying to run the game through a batch file and I can't get it to work. Right now my batch is this @ECHO OFF start "" "F:\Games\Shortcuts\Vanguard Princess.lnk" for the shortcut and @ECHO OFF start "" "C:\Windows\AppPatch\AppLoc.exe" "F:\PC Installers\vanpri107c\New folder\ヴァンガードプリンセス\Vanguard.exe" "/L0411" for just trying to run it through Applocal. I've been at this for a few hours, I have it saving in Unicode instead of Ansi, but before I go changing the japanese out for english (if that's even the problem?), I figured I'd ask people who are way smarter than me...which is you guys. So yeah...what am I doing wrong? By the way, this game is awesome, especially for being a one man team and I highly recommend it.
  4. Thanks for the idea, PimpDaddyStu. I'm going to play with this today and see if I can't get it to work. That remote looks slick and I'm pretty sure I'm going to order one today. Those assignable keys on the one side would be perfect for this whole exit thing I'm working on, I can't help but thinking... I gotta figure this out.
  5. Ok, here's my dilemma and here's what I'm thinking. I may be going about this all wrong, but bear with me. When I turn my computer on, GameEX loads. Then, if I want to watch a movie, I launch XBMC from inside GameEX. I have XBMC set to use VLC as my media player. This also happens with music apps, xbmc apps, etc etc, not just vlc. And all of that works, but I'm having a hard time getting out of everything. If I want to stop my movie half way through, I've got to use my mouse, which I'm really trying to stop. I want all of this to be controlled from just my xbox controller. At worst, I could map it to say the esc. key or something similar and get a cheap remote control (which I may end up doing anyway) and be able to get out of stuff that way. So my question is, is there a way to map something along the lines of a task kill autohotkey (I think that's what I'm looking for) to a button on my controller. IE If I hit 6 definable buttons at once, it closes whatever the current program is that's in focus. This would be extremely helpful in a myriad of ways, so any help or info on which direction I should be looking in would be very helpful. Thank you in advance
  6. Er, sorry. It's been set to "no" the whole time. I started a whole new emulator slot (if that's the right terminology) after smd replied, just to make sure everything was fresh as I had been fiddling around and wanted to make sure I wasn't tripping myself up with some setting I wasn't seeing. Still getting as far as the "Select Rom" menu.
  7. I copied that exactly, still get the same thing. Just to be sure, here's my full config - [Emulator] Enabled=True System=Sammy Atomiswave Category=Arcade Emulator=DEmul Version=0.5.7 Rating= DownloadUrl=http://www.gamesdbase.com/setupwizard/emulators/download/DEmul.7z RequiredFiles=Atomiswave arcade system BIOS (awbios.zip) Website=http://DEmul.emulation64.com/ Info=Sammy Atomiswave emulator TitleText=Sammy Atomiswave StartPageName=[Arcade] Sammy Atomiswave (DEmul) StartPageLogo=Atomiswave Command=DEmul.exe -run=atomiswave -rom=[ROM] RomFilter= Database= ConfigFile=[Mapping Off] Exit (Process Close) MapFile=[APP]\Map Files\[Arcade] DEmul.map RomPath=[DEFAULTROMPATH]\Arcade\DEmul\Roms SnapPath=[DEFAULTASSETPATH]\Arcade\DEmul\Snaps TitlePath=[DEFAULTASSETPATH]\Arcade\DEmul\Titles BoxPath=[DEFAULTASSETPATH]\Arcade\DEmul\Boxes CartPath=[DEFAULTASSETPATH]\Arcade\DEmul\Cartridges ManualPath=[DEFAULTASSETPATH]\Arcade\DEmul\Manuals ControlPanelPath=[DEFAULTASSETPATH]\Arcade\DEmul\Controls WorkingPath=[DEFAULTEMUPATH]\DEmul MapKeys=True WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash=False ReplaceUnder=True Capitals=False RemoveBrackets=True ShowDesktop=True Debug=False AlsoLaunch= OLDatZip= LaunchBefore= LaunchAfter= ExcludedFiles= CustomBackground= PlayMusic=False DontShowInfo= PlaySelectionMusic=False SelectionMusicFolder= PCGame=False GamesIn7Zips=True PlayInScreenSaver=False ShowMostPlayed=True RandomMostPlayed=True CDCheck=False CDCheckFile=
  8. So, I just decided to jump into Demul for my Naomi/Atomiswave stuff. I can run everything just fine outside of GameEx. In GameEX, I can get it to launch, but I get to the Rom Loading menu and then it stops. For example, for my Naomi stuff, I get to the screen that one gets to if you do file>load naomi and then the list of all the games comes up. From there I can select a game and everything loads up fine, but surely there is a way to automatically load the rom from gameex without that extra step. My command line is - demule.exe -run=naomi -rom=[rompath]/[romfile] for naomi. Replace naomi with atomiswave for atomiswave. It does the same thing from command line, so I figure I'm doing something in the command line, but I can't figure out what, or I have to change something in Demul to autoload. Any ideas?
  9. I've been playing around with XBMC and it's all fancy and everything, but I find the emulation support severely lacking. How I've been doing it for a long time now is XBMC for movies and all that, GameEX for gaming. But, if possible, I'd like to get it down to one frontend, so I've got a few questions about GameEX that I haven't been able to find answers for, specifically this - in XBMC, I can have videos from RSS feeds that pop up in the "Video" section. News programs, The Daily Show, etc etc. Is this at all possible in GameEX?
  10. I got it figured out. I had to say no to the four way joystick question in the typex_config program. Also, just to put this out there for anyone who runs into this, I also had to tell Game EX to look for "ah3-fullscreen.exe" for Arcane Hearts 3 to come into focus and be able to exit when launched. It's the only game I've found that doesn't use either game.exe or launcher.exe. Just in case.
  11. What do you mean? I've got it set to the up, down, left and right keys, same as always
  12. I swear I do the dumbest stuff. A)I was setting an exit key in the typeex-config program...but I thought it was to get out of that program. So space bar exits every game. B)I had game ex looking for both game.exe and loader.exe, not launcher.exe. There is no loader.exe, and since I kept trying the same game that uses loader and not game, it just wasn't working. I swear. I have one final question. On Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, I can't do any diagnals. I can't just forward or backwards, and I can't do any moves like quarter cirle punch or whatever. Anybody else having this problem? I'm using a usb arcade stick through xpadder. If I set up SFIVAE to read either the stick directly or the keyboard, and if I use the stick with the keyboard or just the keyboard, I still can't get it to work. Any ideas?
  13. game.exe and launcher.exe. But I also can't get out of these games from PCArcade or whatever, either. I have to ctl+alt+del from that, too.
  14. So I've got all these games running and launching just fine (thanks in particular to Adultry's slammin guide), but I cannot exit these games without ctl+alt+del. ESC just isn't working. From what my little pea brain has gathered, this is probably due to not having the advanced config looking at the right processes, right?
