  1. OK thanks for the reply. Any idea if something like this will be supported in GameEx Evolution?
  2. Is it possible to setup a theme to run on dual screens? I created a new theme using the default media center theme, set the pixels to the total resolution of both screens as configured in Windows. However, it only displayed on the primary display. I tried enabling the "use secondary monitor" option in GameEx settings, but it only displayed on the second monitor at that point. I am looking to setup all the artwork on the second display (title, snap, video snap, cab art, etc.). I'd like for it to show the artwork on hover over the game title as it does with the single screen themes. I think theming is the only way to accomplish this. I know gameextender has an artwork option, but it seems there is only one artwork option available. I found the marquee magic program, but I haven't tried using it yet - but I was hoping to keep the configuration as stock as possible. Thanks!
  3. I'd like gameextender to be able to render animated GIFs as part of a second screen while in the menus and during gameplay. The idea is that you can use a tool like imagemagick -convert to generate an animated GIF from snap, title, banner, etc. and have it rotate on a second screen. Thanks, Jonathan
  4. I'm not sure I understand all of that response. I have gameextender settings menu to say yes to custom images. Then in the individual emulator menu I have a path set to a directory that has the animated .gif files. Each emulator gets a different directory path. If I hover over a title in the emulator game list, the .gif file shows on the second monitor. It also shows when I click on the game and during the gameplay. Would the animation be fixed in the gameplay only part instead of the menu, or vice versa (or am I mis-interpreting completely)? Thanks, Jonathan
  5. Hello all, I recently setup a second monitor and am able to get GameExtender working correctly. I created some scripts to take the artwork and merge them together as an animated GIF using imagemagick -convert. The GIFs loop properly when viewed in IE, but using GameExtender in GameEX only the first static image is shown. I thought it would be neat to have it loop through the cart, advert, snap, title, etc. while in the menus or while playing the game. Is there any way to get this one added to the requests page? I realize it's a fairly odd request. Anyways, keep up the good work. Regards, Jonathan

    Reset View

I started trying out different views by clicking change view. However, when I went to one of the views - something (perhaps a video) is not liked by GameEx and it's crashes everytime I open that emulator. The view setting is saved, so I can't ever go in and change it. Is there any way to reset the view for a particular emulator (or all of them) to default (in a text file)? I'm on the default theme. Any help would be appreciated - thanks. 18:53:56.1 6/19/2012: Not Restoring Emulator Database From Cache: 4 18:53:58.7 6/19/2012: 21 Consecutive Exceptions Occured 18:53:58.8 6/19/2012: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. 18:53:58.8 6/19/2012: at Direct2D.Direct2d.Surface.Draw(RectangleF DesRect, Rectangle SrcRect, Byte Alpha, Byte Red, Byte Green, Byte Blue, Single Rotation) 18:53:58.8 6/19/2012: at Direct2D.Direct2d.Surface.Draw(RectangleF DesRect, Rectangle SrcRect, Byte Alpha) 18:53:58.8 6/19/2012: at Direct2D.Direct2d.Surface.Draw(RectangleF DesRect, RectangleF SrcRect, Byte Alpha) 18:53:58.8 6/19/2012: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.a(Int32 A_0, Int32 A_1, String A_2, Boolean A_3, Boolean A_4, Int32 A_5, Int32 A_6) 18:53:58.8 6/19/2012: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.i(Boolean A_0) 18:53:58.8 6/19/2012: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.f(Boolean A_0, Boolean A_1) 18:53:58.8 6/19/2012: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.du() 18:53:58.8 6/19/2012: Trying reinitialising the display after sleeping for 4 seconds 18:53:58.8 6/19/2012: Exception count will be dropped to 15 18:54:05.9 6/19/2012: --**-- 18:54:05.9 6/19/2012: 21 Consecutive Exceptions Occured: Exiting 18:54:05.9 6/19/2012: Closing database connection 18:54:06.0 6/19/2012: First Exception: 18:54:06.0 6/19/2012: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. 18:54:06.0 6/19/2012: at Direct2D.Direct2d.Surface.Draw(RectangleF DesRect, Rectangle SrcRect, Byte Alpha, Byte Red, Byte Green, Byte Blue, Single Rotation) 18:54:06.0 6/19/2012: at Direct2D.Direct2d.Surface.Draw(RectangleF DesRect, Rectangle SrcRect, Byte Alpha) 18:54:06.0 6/19/2012: at Direct2D.Direct2d.Surface.Draw(RectangleF DesRect, RectangleF SrcRect, Byte Alpha) 18:54:06.0 6/19/2012: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.a(Int32 A_0, Int32 A_1, String A_2, Boolean A_3, Boolean A_4, Int32 A_5, Int32 A_6) 18:54:06.0 6/19/2012: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.i(Boolean A_0) 18:54:06.0 6/19/2012: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.f(Boolean A_0, Boolean A_1) 18:54:06.0 6/19/2012: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.du() 18:54:06.0 6/19/2012: Last Exception: 18:54:06.0 6/19/2012: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. 18:54:06.0 6/19/2012: at Direct2D.Direct2d.Surface.Draw(RectangleF DesRect, Rectangle SrcRect, Byte Alpha, Byte Red, Byte Green, Byte Blue, Single Rotation) 18:54:06.0 6/19/2012: at Direct2D.Direct2d.Surface.Draw(RectangleF DesRect, Rectangle SrcRect, Byte Alpha) 18:54:06.0 6/19/2012: at Direct2D.Direct2d.Surface.Draw(RectangleF DesRect, RectangleF SrcRect, Byte Alpha) 18:54:06.0 6/19/2012: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.a(Int32 A_0, Int32 A_1, String A_2, Boolean A_3, Boolean A_4, Int32 A_5, Int32 A_6) 18:54:06.0 6/19/2012: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.i(Boolean A_0) 18:54:06.0 6/19/2012: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.f(Boolean A_0, Boolean A_1) 18:54:06.0 6/19/2012: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.du()
  7. Thanks - that did it! Specifically, because it's a thread linking to another thread, this is the instructions I followed: http://www.gameex.in...dpost__p__57408 In case anyone comes across this in a search. Thanks for pointing this out to me.
  8. ...crickets...bueller...bueller...bueller... Is there any more data I can provide to try and troubleshoot this? It's clearly a gameex.exe crash - not a misconfiguration. Let me know - thanks!
  9. Hello all. I'm trying to configure D-Fend Reloaded with GameEx (latest version as of this writing). I have a successful confguration within D-Fend Reloaded. I generated a shortcut within D-Fend Reloaded, and I can run this from Windows 7 64 bit fine (by double clicking it from Windows Explorer). I then setup the MS-DOS emulator, with the rom path a directory with my shortcuts in. I am using: ""[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"" as my command line. When I click on run this game from within GameEx, it starts, then I get the following GameEx error / crash. Dosbox continues to run (just not full screen). This particular game runs a cd-rom as well. The shortcut target command line is: "G:\D-Fend Reloaded\DFend.exe" Kings Quest VI - Heir Today Gone Tomorrow Any thoughts? Thanks.
  10. I happened to check and the 007 shark v 3.40 codecs are out now. I uninstalled the old x64 version, then the 32 bit version. Rebooted. Install the 32 bit version, install the 64 bit version, and right clicked run as administrator the codec settings icon. I changed my mpeg2 playback back to ffdshow in gameex. I have the latest gameex, and (cross fingers) I haven't seen the crash problem. I ran it about 5 times and it has been working ok. I'll keep everyone posted here on the stability if it starts to degrade again.
  11. Yes, per my original description, I've tried all the combinations of Shark007 and Klite. Namely, just 32 bit and 32 bit and then 64 bit on top. I'm using the default options. I've tried modifying the settings, but I don't really know what I'm doing and it seems to have little change in the crashes. Also, videos play fine in Windows Media Player. I can run the emumovies.com movies fine (avi, mp4).
  12. Here's my procedure. I deleted the log file. I ran GameEx until it crashed. I posted the log file. This was the same procedure for both log file postings. I noticed that there is no entry in the last line that indicates a crash of any kind. However, in the event viewer, you can see the application crash details. As I mentioned in the original post, I'm almost certain this has to do with the codecs - if I disable MPEG2 all together, I never get any crashes (or any movies). I have no idea how to troubleshoot this more.
  13. That log file was right when it crashed. To be clean, I just deleted the log file, started GameEx, and ran through a few menus waiting for the crash to occur. Here should be the cleanest log file I can generate:
  14. Made the change. It still crashes (although, it may just be me, but I made it through a few different emulators before it crashed. Let me know what else might be wrong if anything else to try. Thanks. Log.txt 2 Windows Application Logs:
