It seems like it would be a phenomenal feature to have, but not sure if it's available and I'm just missing it. Is it possible to cancel screensaver into the game so that the timer stops and input doesn't drop you to menu so you can continue playing the game? That would be really cool, if only just for MAME.

I recently installed an SSD for the boot drive in my arcade cabinet, and reinstalled Windows 7 onto it. After I installed Gameex and copied over the Gameex folder to ensure the configuration remained consistent I noticed an issue with the background. I'm running at 1920x1080, but the theme is 1680x1050. But for some reason, one of the images I had tweaked is no longer stretched. It's a 1680x1080 file, which I was happy to have it stretch to the resolution of the monitor. I thought maybe swapping the theme might knock it around a bit, and it seemed to fix the MAME genre selection screen, but any other console, and even the MAME submenus, are still not stretched, so the boxes are all off. Any thoughts what might be going wrong here?

[RESOLVED] mame screensaver closes after 10 seconds or so

Your comment got me thinking about what could be providing button pushes, as everything else seems to be working fine, but then I remembered that I was using GPWiz40's for my sticks to provide for rotary functionality, and that without running roto-x, the rotary aspect seems to be sending button commands, where I believe the roto-x software intercepts them and interprets them differently to the system, when activated. I hadn't configured Roto-x on my new box, nor started the service, but soon as I did, it appears to be stabilized. Thanks for the responses, I believe this is resolved. -

I pondered that too, but I would think that would stop the screensaver instantly. Isn't there a settting to make it less sensitive to movements in screensaver mode? I seem to recall something like that. -

Unfortunately, a reboot has not fixed the issue. Also, I received the PC for my cabinet this week, and transferred over the configuration from the other machine where the problem originally showed itself, and it is still happening. Thanks for any ideas on what may be causing this. Happy Holidays. -
I ended up just going with AVI files...those are looking great. Thanks all for your comments.

I am trying to figure out why GameEx no longer cycles through games when idle. I decided to try and just run the screensaver manually, and it starts up and loads a game, and plays it for a few seconds, and then the screen goes black and then back to the menu. I have it set to cycle through games every 2 minutes and to go into screen saver every 1 minute idle. Thanks for any thoughts regarding this.

I thought it did, but only because I saw this in my search for a resolution to this issue: http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?showtopic=6829&st=0&p=50970entry50970 But, since I know that gameex is able to play FLVs manually, I'd assume it can play them any place within the app. I am not having video played externally, as far as the setup is concerned, so I believe the GameEx engine itself is managing the playback through whatever codecs are on my system.

FLV video snaps I downloaded from EmuMovies aren't playing in GameEx...while I can manually find them under the multimedia viewer and they play fine. On the other hand, I downloaded a couple of AVI video snaps, and they work like a charm. What seems strange to me is that I know that GameEx can play the FLVs, as they play when invoked manually, so it makes me wonder if there is a basic setting I'm missing here. Any thoughts? I'm running the latest GameEx on Windows 7.
