Once again, very impressive program and support. I noticed you can sort games that use light guns and multiplayer games but how about being able to sort games utilizing trackballls or spinners. That way, you wouldn't have to search to find out what kind of controller is used for a specific game. I think that would be a nice enhancement. -

What a program you have created! It's the centerpiece of the cabinet I'm building. Well worth the donation. When I scroll through the list of Mame games I have, most games feature a nice text description that tells you about the game. I am wondering if something like that could happen for visual pinball. It'd be great if the text file for the table's rules could be implemented in a similar fashion as mame. And what about being able to categorize pinball tables by genre, year, etc. I guess these ideas could work for other emulators too but pinball is my angle. Thanks -
I've got it working. But the problem is when I quit playing most tables, GameEx vanishes and I am stuck. A control-alt-delete shows that the program is still running but I can't figure out the problem. Also, when the program doesn't hang and I exit GameEx, a multitude of VPauto icons are residing in my system tray. I've seen this posted many times before without a definitive answer. Latest version of GameEx and Pinball installed.

I've searched the archives and haven't found a definitive solution to the problem of exiting a table and ending back at the Windows desktop but upon a control alt delete, it shows GameEx is still active. Like many people have written already, once set up, Vpinmame runs great with the help of vpauto.exe (menus bypassed), but we get shut out of GameEx when exiting. I've tested this out a bit and noticed a couple things. About half of my table collection go back to GameEx and the other half go back to the desktop. Upon further research, I tried creating Snaps of my collection and the offending tables when closing brought up a window saying that "Visual Pinball has encountered a problem" and the standard send error report message followed. I needed to click don't send report or the box would show up as part of my snap. GameEx still continued to switch between tables flawlessly to create the snaps even with the message active. Since this is a Windows, message, maybe vpauto.exe can't bypass the message? And maybe this message is trying to pop up when vpinmame is terminating, causing a conflict. Could this be the culprit for this problem?
