  1. I'm not sure where I got it from but I tried to load it on another machine a while back and I could not find it anywhere. It's been so long I can't remember where it came from. It was my favorite theme though...
  2. Finally got around to trying a different theme and that fixed the issue. I was using the Retro Box theme.....switched to default and the upgrade works. Switched back to the retro box with the upgraded version of Gameex and got the error again so it seems that there is something in the Retro Box theme that does not play well. Not a problem with me as I will use a different theme. Thanks for the help!
  3. No, the other machine is still giving me the directx error on update. This was a windows 10 machine that wanted to run the gameex arcade on.
  4. Copied the config folder over and it seems to work with no problems. Thanks!
  5. I'll give it a shot and let you know. Thanks!
  6. Gameex arcade looks pretty good! Is there an easy way to migrate a regular gameex install to it? Is it as simple as copying folders to the gameex arcade folder? I've been gone for a while and checked back in to see a lot of new stuff. You've got my juices flowing again
  7. I do appreciate you trying to help with this. I'm good with no updating. Someday I may upgrade the PC and a later version of Windows.
  8. No, nothing in the event viewer...
  9. I am almost afraid to try the directx reinstall because its windows XP. One thing I did try was installing a clean version of the arcade edition. It ran fine (bare) without configuring it. I copied over the folders from my gameex directory to the gamex arcade folder trying to avoid having to reconfigure it. It started with the same error.
  10. Just tried it with the same results. The file date of the working gameex install is 1-15-2016. Absent getting it to work I will probably let sleeping bears lie. I thought about reloading DirectX but it seems to run ok without updating so.....
  11. No. The only updates I have done over the years have been to Gameex. Up until this one gameex just updates and keep on Chugging.
  12. I've been away for a while too. I have a couple of working gameex installs on older harder running windows 7 and XP. Since they can be independent I'll give it a shot this weekend. Was curious about the keys. It has been a few years but I am pretty sure I purchased a couple of Gameex copies that came with upgrades. I'll have to dig out the emails but I think I can find them. Will those SN's work with evolution?
  13. So, my gameex copy on a windows XP machine has been running great for many years without issue updating. Recently I cranked it up and received a shut down on error message after updating. Luckily I had an earlier version of gameex and simply installed it to restore it. Posting my log file in hopes for some advise. I realized Windows XP is quite old but it simply works great and the PC specs is pretty dated. log.txt GameEx.ini
  14. Greetings all! I have 3 machines setup with Gameex running for many years now. I have been away for a while but have time now and would love to play with evo. What is the preferred way to play with Evo. Can I pull in the gameex configs so I don't have to reconfigure everything? I am pretty sure at least 2 of my licenses have EVO capability. Is there a way to confirm that?
  15. The exact same thing happened to me last week. I launched Gameex and it loaded a default theme....I thought that's weird. Upon looking further I noticed the time stamp on the config file was that morning and it was basically empty. After panicking I saw that Gameex backups the config file. I appeared to have a file date of 2 weeks earlier. I overwrote the empty one with that one and all is fine. Look in dir where your config file is and you will see a backup. I thought it was just me or my computer that screwed up because I was having issues with Windows 10 at the same time.
