  1. Gizmo Drive looks promising by its description: Gizmo Drive v2.7.9 • Mount ISO, BIN, CUE, NRG files to a virtual CD-ROM drive • Mount VHD files, used with Microsoft Virtual PC • Mount password protected images to a virtual hard drive • Encrypt HD images using a passphrase • Protect vital files from hackers using encrypted HD images • Mount IMG files to a virtual drive • Mount and unmount files from the Windows Shell • Mount and unmount files from the command line • Support for compression and sparse HD images
  2. Have you considered any of the other free or open source alternatives? I saw a few at http://alternativeto.net/software/daemon-tools/ although I can only say that I have only ever used Daemon Tools Lite in the past.

    WHAT?!

Umm.. yeah. 500 Watts is way underpowered for 10 internal drives, CPU, GPU, fans, etc. If you are going to run a server with more than 5 drives, have you considered a rack mount system? Even if you bump up to a 1000+ Watt PSU, you are going to have way more heat in that case than the fans can safely dissipate. You need to get that thing cool, Mister, and I mean now! LOL!
  4. We will need to know quite a bit more from you. You may want to start by supplying us with a copy of your gameex.ini, log.txt files and a more clear explanation of the errors experienced when you attempt to change themes.
  5. Sounds like it may be a display driver issue. Have you confirmed that you have the latest video drivers and correct video settings for the new monitor?
  6. I believe they use a special EPROM and that there is no interface available except through the manufacturer. Might be able to Ebay it though for someone else trying to complete a Golden Tee cab.
  7. You can run the install from download and your current settings will be retained. Of course, if you want to play it safe, you can back up your gameex directory.
  8. Since you have room for 4, you can use the trackball and 2 spinners with 1 to spare.
  9. You are correct - keep in mind that it will be a separate keyboard combo that will need to be assigned to those controllers. Since trackballs and spinners are interpreted as mice, you would likely be restricted to those types of devices.

Have done that as well in addition to taking a screen capture of their screen (you really should lock your PC in the corporate workplace), hiding their desktop icons, and pasting the screen capture as their new desktop image. It is a wonderful combo.. first the mouse doesn't track, they discover the cause, but yet it still doesn't work when they click on their desktop shortcuts..
  11. Display Emulator Menus option is appearing below the Cancel Button under Options>Settings.
  12. The complete list, courtesy of Adultery, is included in the spoiler below. This will allow users to adapt images (edit/rename/etc.) of their choice to replace the stock images for further theme customization. The icons must be named as noted - Image 0.png, etc. - in order to work correctly.
  13. Yes, as Tom was polling the platform upon which GameEx was running upon. This poll was to see for what purpose (regardless of platform). Apples and Oranges, my friend.. but together make a great fruit salad!
  14. My understanding is that it will display for the individual emulator only when stand-alone, not when grouped. That would be consistent with the behavior you are showing. The group setting overrides the individual - much like a democracy. Then the individual screams not fair.. wait, this isn't the politics forum. Nevermind.
  15. Would you mind sharing a pic or two of your CP, Stu?
  16. I have not played many of the later fighting games, but would imagine that there are some that make use of more due to special combo moves. Most CPs that I have seen tend to be in the 6-8 button per player range (not inclusive of any flipper buttons for use with pinball games or player # buttons).
  17. Your setup will be similar to mine so far as the systems to be emulated (add Daphne, Future Pinball, the Game Boy/Virtual Boy and Game Gear handhelds). I have the X-Arcade Tankstick (Thanks, Santa!) and it has 2 joysticks,8 buttons per player, track ball (will add 2 spinners in the future), Player 1 & 2 Buttons, along with two "flipper" buttons on each side. A more detailed list can be found here under the GameEx Support section. This also covers default Keyboard, Media Center Remote, GamePad, and Hot Rod / X-Aracde / SlikStik / JPAC / IPAC configurations. Hope this is of help!
  18. The wife has agreed to a plan for my arcade/HTPC desires (money available, of course). Looking at the Xtension Arcade Pedestal at RecMasters for use with my X-Arcade Tankstick and a wall-mounted 1080P LCD in the 37" to 42" range. With a smaller form factor PC, the pedestal should be able to hold my original Xbox and 360, along with an Altec Lasing 2 speaker & subwoofer combo, misc. controllers, etc. I will likely need to mod the pedestal by installing some casters so it will be easily mobile when playing the arcade games (up close to a 37-42" screen just won't cut it).

Agreed. Although, I do miss "stealing" the balls from my coworker's mouse and listening to the yowling and gnashing of teeth that ensued...
  20. Since you are wanting to run WinUAE outside of Headkaze's WinUAE Loader, have you checked this thread?
  21. Happy New Year! 2012 will be another year of uncertainty and change - some good, some great, and some not so much. It is knowing that I have family & friends to share it with that make all of it worth while. I wish everyone a safe, fun, and prosperous 2012!
  22. Your log file looks fine - I don't see anything from a GameEx perspective (other than a possible transition between resolutions) that might be causing the flashing to occur when exiting Stella back to GameEx. DGringo was showing some errors in one of his log files that was DirectDraw/DirectX related. Can you post your gameEx.ini and Stella configs?
  23. I definitely like the later attempts better. Outlines are cleaner, more contrast between colors to make things pop. You are on a good path, my friend! If you keep this up, you are going to have to release your theme in multiple parts or packs just so the whole thing can be downloaded!
