How are you exiting GameEx when you get the blackscreen over it? Unless you have modified the default, you should be able to hit ESC to go back to the desktop, which should then restore it. I'm assuming you have tried this to no avail but asking anyways in attempting to wrap my head around the issue you are encountering.

Hi there. Not sure of I understand entirely what you are describing. Can you do me a favor and attach copies of your gameex.ini, log.txt, and bezel files for review? I am thinking that there is an issue with rendering transparent the space in between the bezel graphic.

Would really benefit from you attaching copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files from both systems to compare as we can only guess and I really suck at guessing.

IIRC this is one that is not as nice to emulate as others. Not sure if it would work any better through Retroarch with one of the cores for the console.

Hi @Tom Speirs - 18.60 fixed the issue with the .apng animations. I am using a font with my new theme since I last uploaded it to the FTP called Pirulen Rg. It displays correctly in the menus, but does not render well in the title. Is this something you can address easily with a minor update to the same version? Have you attempted to setup and run them via Retroarch? That might be a more viable alternative.

You may want to attach copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files. Also there should be a log file within the LEDBlinky folder - LEDBlinky.log that may also be helpful. Hi @Tom Speirs - I confirmed that the .apng animations broke with the introduction of 18.57. I was on 18.56 before and just loaded it again and it works. My current WIP theme Opus Technologia is located in /-GameEx-/Draco1962_Projects/Themes on the FTP or your testing if needed.

Change your display settings to Gamelauncher - MAME via the Setup Wizard If that does not work, please reply to this thread with your gameex.ini and log.txt files attached. Otherwise, let us know how it works for you.

Basically just asking if you run the game through GameEx via MESS instead of MAME do you get the same results.

Go to the Downloads > GameEx section, then to See Change Log, click the drop down, select the prior version and click Download This File.

FYI - I have customized the Draconus theme that I am using to the point that I need to save it and name it something else to avoid future confusion. 🙃

The Draconus theme on the site does not contain the apng files, however, they are located for download on the GameEx FTP at /-GameEx-/Draco1962_Projects/Tarc-Style_Logos/Spinball within the folders: Arcade Console GameEx_Core Handheld Misc PC I hope that is helpful.

I cannot replicate this issue on my system. I opened a thread for an unrelated issue for the same version.

The log file didn't show anything obvious to me earlier. I tested the same version and the upgrade was successful and I am unable to replicate your error. I am going to flag this one for @Tom Speirs attention. In the mean time can you investigate the Windows Event Viewer for any error messages or conditions?

Are you running HideOS? If so, can you try disabling it?

I just installed the latest via the internal update and GameEx launches without a problem. A few questions: - Did you install via download or internal update? - If via internal update, have you attempted to download and perform an over-the-top install?

GameEx 18.59 is not displaying .apng file animations after updating. Appears to only display the first frame of the files. GameEx.ini log.txt
