  1. i never did find it then or now. but *shrugs* i got lazy with this post and had other things more relevant to do (like configuring gameex to work on my media center).
  2. i take it not everyone can change their status anymore? i cant find a way to update my status...
  3. very impressive dude. my pants got a bit moist looking at the progress.
  4. well the alternative i have found is to use UGL, and some other nonsense. its not as clean, looks horrible, and will be a nightmare to keep going on. i really think you are onto something though, and when you release it, people will use your system moreso than the alternatives. plus you did a video tutorial that was easy to understand.
  5. ive used my server to host the roms ever since i started with gameex. i just simply didnt have the money for any more hdds. i tried just having a basic set of roms on a local drive but i got bored with it and then ps1 emulation got way more reliable. so i had to move them to my server and read from there. never looked back.
  6. looking back i should have listened to felix. lolz.
  7. Holy revived thread batman! Well, after doing some searching around, ive decided to use chinese knockoff n64 controllers with usb ends. works pretty well. the only issue with this of course is nemu hates usb controllers being unplugged/plugged in so anytime i want to use them, i have to go into the emulator and set joy1, joy2, etc. but it saves the profile. just a headache before playing the games. initially i used x360 controllers, but im finding it definitely does not have the same feel when playing sega genisis/cd/saturn. so no bueno, we end up just not playing them because of it. As for the 4 button vs. 6 button layout, i have finally come to a solution to that. most of the emulators i can set the config.ini to read only after configuring the controllers. i intend to use PS3 controllers. why ps3 you may ask? well with ps3, the wireless 6 button controllers are available (fightpads, etc.) and all i need to do is just turn them on and sync them. and when i get tired of those, throw them on the charger, let them disconnect, and sync up the standard controller. no wires, no mess, and they completely resemble the sega saturn controller. the gf will just have to get used to not using the x360 controllers :-P.
  8. for the life of me i couldnt figure out how to get steam showing up on my gameex. Bravo good sir! not only did you make my "windows PC games" setup on mine look amateur, you did this in such an elegant way it will be easy to add new games in the future. now i just got to find your plugin. scrap that, i just realized you havent released it yet. sonuvagun. guess i will go about it the old fashioned way... :'(

  10. nice fix dude. i am dragging my feet on the OS upgrade. but im sure i will have to from win7 to win10 or whatever. just not looking forward to it at all.
  11. so...after reading all the posts in this thread...the answer is no? 0_o dont think anyone answered the actual original post. like i could care less about big picture if gameex launches steam games correctly. i havent tried steam via gameex. but i bet it would be a whole lot prettier than steam. biggest reason why i havent is because id rather not have subpar gaming on my media center. if this steam streaming works it might entice me to try it as my gaming rig is so much more powerful than my media center.
  12. not going to lie, this marriage with gameex has been a very rough one. i like what it can do, and i have put enough manhours into configuration of this thing to be a part-time laborer. but the reason i have stuck it out for so long is that after it gets configured it simply works. it is a great middle ground compared to the others. hyperspin is extremely flashy, and i could see myself getting annoyed with it. and most of the others dont have the features or configuration options i would like. still though, i should give hyperspin or maximus arcade a shot since i have given some time for them to mature more. i know my gf loves the way the media center has turned out with gameex. but i do question if gameex is the "best out there".

I remember Saturn Emulators to be particularly challenging. Hang on in there... you can get them working...

I don't have any issues with SSF, but I guess I don't play a ton of Saturn games. :)

  14. i remember there was at one time a front end that did a 3d model of an arcade at a mall. you had to design how big the place was, 2 or 3 floors, the jpgs of the cabinets. and you would walk to whichever game you wanted to play and it would do it. i cant remember the name of it right now. it was interesting but if you have a big collection it wasnt that great for it.
