  1. Hi folks, I'd like to request a minor feature be considered for a future release. It would be really, REALLY handy if there was an option to map Page Up/Down and Alpha Up/Down to the joystick and not just the keyboard. I'd like to drive everything from a single controller and scrolling through a long list is a slow process as it is now.
  2. Thanks for taking the time to reply! I've been trying to get everything (40+) systems to all exit using the same key combo. Unfortunately, I forgot you could directly set multi-button combinations in MAME. You're a lifesaver!
  3. Hi folks, I recently started going through and updating emulators and re-setting up the inputs and for some reason I can't exit MAME. I have SendKeys set up to send {ESC} and if I hit ESC on the keyboard it does in fact exit. If I hit the combo however the log shows it sending ESC, but MAME fails to close Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
  4. Thanks for the reply! I figured it out in the end. The video codecs went south (again) so the animated grid couldn't play. Reinstalling them fixed it. Thanks again!
  5. I only have one options for views (CoverFlow(Flat)). Here are a couple of screenshots of what I'm seeing. Thanks for taking the time to reply!
  6. Hi all, I've been updating my system and swapping emulators around to better centralize the controls but somehow I managed to alter the appearance of the app. The "grid" that serves as the "ground" in the main system selection disappeared and I can't seem to restore it. Am I missing a setting? I am using the default theme. Thanks!
  7. Thanks tthurman! That got me on the right track. I ended up deleting and re-adding the profiles and that got me most of the way there. I think I accidentally picked a MAME profile instead of a MAME_SL profile. Thanks for taking the time to reply! It's greatly appreciated.
  8. Hey all, Could someone point me in the direction of how to setup GameEx Evolution to work with MAME software lists? My basic confusion at this point is how to handle ROM directories. The systems offered by GameEx don't seem to line up with the MAME system names/directories. For example GameEx has a number of variants for the Apple 2 hardware but MAME has the files listed by media type instead (apple2_cass, apple2_flop_clcracked, etc). Is it possible to leave that various ROMS in their default (separate) directories rather than copying them all to a single directory and pointing GameEx at it? Ideally I'd like to leave things where they are so it's easier to update later. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also, as a side note, refreshing MAME profiles currently causes a null reference exception with MAME .218. It creates two profiles and then fails with an error and has to be terminated through task manager. I can't remember the exact system it fails on but it had "Pegasus" in the name.
  9. Never mind, I solved it. I uninstalled and reinstalled the LAV codecs. At first all images displayed black so I uninstalled again, rebooted, installed again, rebooted and now it's working. I am not sure what screwed up the install in the first place but it's working so I'm not going to worry about it. Thanks for your help!
  10. I missed the other question in there, sorry. Some of the files are from emumovies and some aren't. The behavior is the same regardless of source. The last time it worked was months ago, I hadn't been paying with it much recently but when I went to update my mame version I noticed the new behavior.
  11. Thanks! Here are the logs, as well as screenshots of what I'm seeing. [GAMEEXEVO_LOGS].7z [GAMEEXEVO_LAST_RUN_OUTPUT].7z
  12. At some point the display of video snaps broke on my system. Now there's a blank space in the UI where it would normally be when viewing it in list mode. When you're on the specific game screen you can select "Video Snap" and you get an empty pop-up with an exit button. There don't appear to be any errors in the log. Does anyone have any ideas? Any suggestions would be appreciated!
  13. I am not sure what's happening here but after running setup to re-audit my ROMs GamesEx Evolution simply crashes without a message. I've attached my .ini file and the latest log from the Logs directory. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! [GAMEEX].ini [SETUPWIZARD].log
  14. I would like to throw this out there for a possible future enhancement. The filter for List Games has support for file tags which is AWESOME. Unfortunately, the way it handles them is not. For example, I would like to set up a filter to show only verified dumps, but no alternate, pirate, hack or overdump ROMs. I can set up the filter to show verified dumps but that will include verified alternates which clutter up the list. Ideally, the filter should be designed so that a given flag is either required or is forcibly excluded. (A three-state switch would be awesome.) In my example, I'd set the flag filter to require verified ROMs but must not include pirate, hack, etc. Another simpler possibility would be to give us the option to make the filters strictly exclusionary. Then I could just check no pirate, no hack, etc and I could get a clean list. This would go a long way towards giving us the flexibility to default display only the "Good" ROMs but still allow us to tweak the filter on the fly to find that rare prototype gem when we want. Thanks for reading!
