  1. A couple of wheel options for @unclewilly's FP->VPX Robots Invasion table.. Basic on/off using BG images from the table; Or one based on the FP version (using backglass video from FTP); Take your pick. (right click and save as for now until download pack updated)
  2. From the log file attached to - https://forums.gameex.com/forums/topic/29651-dmd-is-allways-displayed-in-the-3th-monitor-only-if-i-start-tables-with-pinballx-in-outside-all-works-fine/#comment-215408 19:54:10.48 15.04.2024: C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball\VPinballX10.7.3.exe -Extminimized /play -"C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball\Tables 10.7.3\Black Hole (Gottlieb 1981) vpx 1.1.vpx" 19:54:10.54 15.04.2024: C:\PinballXneue\vpauto.exe 19:54:18.96 15.04.2024: Visual Pinball Player window foreground: 8 19:54:19.61 15.04.2024: Found PinMAME ROM: blkhole2 19:54:19.61 15.04.2024: Setting DMD position 19:54:19.62 15.04.2024: Move and resize PinMAME Window 19:54:29.46 15.04.2024: Exit System Control Pressed This looks normal and the game exited when the Exit button was pressed. Is the issue still present?
  3. Yes! 👍 Under settings.exe go to Display Settings, Try changing the 'auto position dmd' setting to No, And also change the 'auto position DirectB2S' to No
  4. For info, the general recommendation is NOT to install Visual Pinball to the Program Files folder. It is better to install to install to C:\Visual Pinball or similar. Not sure if the issue here is with windows permissions or not (copies of the requested files will help), but it may be better to reinstall Visual Pinball to a different location now rather than have issues later and have to move it then.
  5. Please attach your pinballx\config\pinballx.ini and pinballx\log\log.txt files. Not sure but i think you want to select a table with one click launch disabled to see the menu options (rather than pressing exit / escape)
  6. Hi Tom. I'm normally a cab user so i don't know if the semi transparent wheel on desktop is a bug, or is it by design?
  7. You're right.. just tried 6.04 and it was there too!, how did i never spot that before? (too much tinkering around with other stuff to actually look at the wheel image i guess ) Edit - the semi transparency of the wheel for the selected table seems to be linked to the 'Main Display Rotation' Display setting. Horizontal - semi trans, 90 or 270 degrees - opaque. That's probably why i missed it before.
  8. Only tried 6.06 on the desktop so far, i see the a semi transparent wheel image for the selected table; PinballX.ini log.txt
  9. My understanding is that popper/vlc uses mainly CPU for video rendering too. But there may be a difference for apngs, as i think only the selected games wheel is animated (PinballX animates all, so could be up to 5 at a time). Don't really know though. Just my personal opinion, playfield 4k videos at 30fps rather than 60fps isn't really a reduction in quality if the video is just the tables attract mode (so just lights changing) but may be noticeable if you like gameplay videos. Format of the video, audio and length could make a large difference too. For the wheels using compression should be fine (just like a lot of tables use compressed webp images for the playfield in vpx). You may struggle to get the highest quality experience on mid range hardware without some compromises. But like i say, just my opinion... i've never liked having having unnecessarily bloaty files on my system
  10. Apngs are more resource intensive than static wheel images. Non animated wheel images shouldn't cause any problem though (i assume you used those before without issue?). Are you using an SSD to store the PinballX media with exceptions set in Defender / anti-virus software for PinballX? It may well be that the apngs just aren't optimised though, there are some pretty big ones about - pingo or pinga may be able to help with that (copy the wheel images somewhere so you have a backup and then try and compress them and see if that helps, copy back from the backup if you want to rerun the compression with different settings).
  11. Thanks for the help. We'll get that fixed properly in the next release.
  12. I think it might be because of an error reading the wrong default value for the loading media mode in PinballX. It looks like until you change the loading media mode in settings.exe there is no value saved in the pinballx.ini, and no value should be to use 'loading folders' not 'loading images'. It should be simple to test, can you open settings.exe and under General Settings, Table Loading Media Mode select to 'use playfield images' and then exit. Then go back in and change the setting to 'use loading folders', exit again to update pinballx.ini and then open database manager to see if the icon is then coloured correctly.
  13. Can you post a new topic in the general forum for that, attaching your pinballx\config\pinballx.ini, pinballx\log\log.txt and pinballx\plugins\PBXLoadingImage_log.txt files. Thanks.
  14. Hmm.. not sure what's happening there, looks like it tries to capture the original video but either fails or doesn't convert it; PBXrecorder set to record complete media set FYI (FTP not enabled): No Wheel Image - 24.png Launching table: VPinballX.exe -play C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball\Tables\VPX\24 (Stern 2009)_Bigus(MOD)2.0.vpx Video and screenshot capture (18:26:38) Recording "C:\PBXRecorder_x64\playfield.mkv" Recording "C:\PBXRecorder_x64\bg.mkv" Recording "C:\PBXRecorder_x64\dmd.mkv" Convert Videos to f4v if video was captured (18:27:25) Converting to "C:\PinballX\Media\VPX\Table Videos\24.f4v" Converting to "C:\PinballX\Media\VPX\Backglass Videos\24.f4v" Table done (18:28:08) Can you open cmd prompt and try to run the command used by pbx recorder to see if that errors; "C:\PBXRecorder_x64\FFMpeg\bin\ffmpeg" -y -t 35 -rtbufsize 1500M -f gdigrab -framerate 30 -offset_x 1362 -offset_y 1024 -video_size 1280x412 -i desktop -vcodec libx264 -preset ultrafast -qp 0 -threads 8 "C:\PBXRecorder_x64\dmd.mkv" Might also be worth trying V1.9 of pbx recorder as well, maybe it's something that got fixed - https://forums.gameex.com/forums/topic/28516-pbx-recorder-captures-playfield-backglass-and-dmd-videos-and-images/?do=findComment&comment=195930
  15. Please post a new copy of the pbxrecorder log file, that should show what's going on
  16. From the log it looks like the DMD screen is not set up in screenres.txt(?) Screenres.txt 1366 768 1280 1024 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Values used for media capture (height/width forced to even values) VirtualScreenWidth = 2646 TotalScreenWidth = 1366 PF_width = 1366 PF_height = 768 BG_width = 1280 BG_height = 1024 DMD_width = 0 DMD_height = 0 DMD_X_offset = 0 DMD_Y_offset = 0 Have you installed and updated the B2S in a new folder? (later B2S versions allow this, but Pbxrecorder uses the copy in the visual pinball\tables folder) see https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=19589&p=179173 for what sort of values you'd expect to see in a screenres.txt file with a DMD screen
  17. Can you attach the pbx recorder log file too? Thanks
  18. It looks like you're running pinballx in windowed mode - that's a test type mode where everything will appear on one screen. Change out of that mode in Display Settings to full screen. It also looks like you have the topper screen enabled as well, if you don't have 4 screens disable that too. Give those a go and let us know if there's still an issue (and restart database manager after - it uses the pinballx.ini file for screen info)
  19. I don't think you can totally remove the text, just change it by changing the wording (and/or the font and colour)
  20. Please attach your pinballx\config\pinballx.ini and pinballx\log\log.txt files. I think what you want is an 'active filter' list if you want Pinball FX to appear under a different name under lists. Try pasting the following into notepad, and save it as '4. Pinball FX.ini' in the PinballX\Databases\Pinball FX folder; [Filter] Comment Year_from=0 Manufacturer Category Description= Author Theme System=Pinball FX Year_to=0 File
  21. yeah, vpf is probably best for that issue. Just make sure you have freezy 64 bit (dmddevice64.dll) installed for flex to use if you're now using vpx x64.
  22. @[email protected] Noticed your launch parameters for FP don't look right. You have; /open "[TABLEPATH]\[TABLEFILE]" /play /exit /arcaderender/STAYINRAM You should add an extra space before the /STAYINRAM, so change it to; /open "[TABLEPATH]\[TABLEFILE]" /play /exit /arcaderender /STAYINRAM Don't think that'll have any effect for your issue but worth changing in PinballX Settings.exe Future Pinball section. Please then retest with the .bat file and attach new copies of your PinballX log.txt and config.ini files, and also a copy of your .bat file.
