  1. hey, tried reinstalling, updating all my stuff, got nowhere.
  2. I was hoping not to have to pull everything out. I thought about pulling the hdd out an using my USB to HDD to install win7. Never had to do it that way, but there us a first for everything. The weirdest thing is that it was fully up and running like 10 hrs earlier. And it was just unplugged and then moved to my room. I highly doubt it's hardware. But I will go through all the hoops regardless to cross it off the list. Bummer. First computer I had to use this pcie card to use my two 19" flat screen I got a year ago and it doesn't want to work. So sad. Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated sir. You are telling me what I thought. It's nice to have a second opinion. Casey
  3. So I have this computer that was given to me. It was working fine with WinXP. Then I get it home and see it needs a log-in password. I decide to just put Win7 on it. So I pop in a win7 disc, wait for it to boot to it nothing..... Check bios, change it to boot from cd......reboot....nothing.... swap optical drive.....nothing....burn iso again at lower rpm....nothing....get my friends copy of windows 7....nothing. Get my copy of XP. Hey...it boots to that. Format C:, moves stuff to the hdd, restarts...BSOD! Thats pretty much where I am at. A computer that will not boot to a dvd of win 7 will boot to winxp xd but bsods me having a facepalm I did Swap the video cards before I first attempted the first bootup. But it did boot up fine to the xp login screen after I did. And I did take the floppy out and put in a internal USB card reader. It is an asus a8nsli32 mobo, two different type of ram, each there are two of, 4gb in total. idk what the video card is. a dual dvi pcie i had extra. yadda yadda. I dont think it really matters what the hardware it has. It was working 24hrs before it changed into my hands. Any help would be great. Casey

    Web Apps

That would be awesome. I never tried setting up a web app before. I assume it is pretty simple.

    Web Apps

Live 105 is a web based player, and a couple other stations use the same player. So if there is a way to use the radio feature with this, cool, if I have to use a web based player as an html app, okay... http://player.radio.com/player/RadioPlayer.php?version=1.2.10286&station=152 thats the station. I believe that is all the info you would need. If not, let me know. casey

    Web Apps

I have been searching around on the forums and google for a list of any other web apps that can/has been used in gameex. I got nothing. Other then the mentioning of Hulu and Netflix I see nothing. Honestly I dont really know what else would be supported, but it has my curiosity peeked. I spent a lot of time trying to get one of my local radio stations to work to work. So I thought there may be a work around for that. Or flash games. If anyone has figured out, or can better explain how to get radio stations working I would be very grateful. I found the link with the same extension, set it up just how I have seen people talk about with nothing to show about it. The built in stations are kind of lame. So if someone is from the bay area in california and has Live 105 working, please help! Or other big stations Thanks the for the help guys and gals. Casey
  7. so I have a bunch of video's that do not playback using GameEX and DDFshow. It just shows black, then goes back into GameEX. I have everything updated all the way. Is there a way I can get it to support it? Can I use VLC player as an external player? Can I add codecs to FFDshow? etc etc thanks guys. Casey
  8. Awesome! Thank you a ton for making one. I am in the process of setting it all up right now. I never ran across that specific app, but it looks like they have the best idea on how to control a pc app. I will probably be making my own skin here in the next few days and post it. I will make a how to guide for it all. Thanks again!. casey
  9. I am tired of controlling it w/ wireless keyboard and X-Arcade Tankstick. I want to control it with my iPhone! There are DOZENS of remote control/remote desktop application on the app store, but which one will work the best? There are a few that are made just for XBMC, and they are quite nice looking too. I assume that all it does is if I hit the button on my iPhone, it will send that to my computer via wireless, and activate that keyboard button on my computer, therein controlling XBMC. So if I change my keyboard shortcuts on GameEX it should then work...right. My logic make sense to me, but I need more backing before I buy a 5$ app. Also, I ran across it a few days ago in my daily search for apps. It was a VNC keyboard w/ customizable keyboard layouts. There is no keyboard or amount of time that will allow me to find it again, and it would have been the best and simplest solution to this. Anyone done this? If so how? Anyone have a method they think will work better then the XBMC one? The other alternative if getting one of the IR remote apps and getting a dongle for the volume port the control the computer w/ IR, and I can make the dongle for the serial/usb port for my pc. But again, I am looking for simple, not me soldering stuff for . Any help will be great. Casey
  10. I used Win7 Ultimate 32bit. I ended up installing WinXP Pro. I knew how to do everything I wanted to do. Then I shelled it, then attempted to unshell it because whenever I exit GameEX explorer doesnt come back up. Now I am in a pickle and hunting the internet for an answer. The internet is being a finicky little bitch and making me work hard for my answer... Right now the nephew is watching Avatar The Last Air Bender on it. Also, sometimes it freezes when I try to do something with it. like FF a movie or stop it. I might try out windows 7 and have it autoload GameEX...so many options....
  11. I have an x-arcade tankstick. I think it works great. Well, it does not that I fixed the joysticks. If the problem you are having is that the amount of action required to make the direction active, or there is to little action required and sometimes it gets stuck, you can easily fix that. There is a guide on xarcades website to fix that. You never said what the problem was, just hoping this helps. casey
  12. I just put together a "new" pc. some nicer hand me down parts from my pops. Without thinking about it I threw on win7. Then I came back to gameEX website and started reading. What are the pro's and cons of having 7 compared to XP? I see (at least the one thats in the shelling page) you cannot shell win7. I am looking around a bit more to see if there is any other things I might want to know. I figured that you guys might know something I might not, even after doing some routine research.
  13. I have had my machine running GameEx for a few months now. It only connects to the internet when I want to update things like GameEx or windows. When I just updated it, now it runs a bit slower when going into directories that have videos. Also when going into a couple specific folders (i.e. Angrey Beavers -90's Cartoon-) it completely freezes. Previously I was able to watch these videos no problem. I check out event viewer and it looks like .Net is freaking out. Was there a change with gameex and the .net support? If so I will update windows and .net (if it is not completely up to date. Casey
  14. Nevermind, I got it! Now to go to work, come back. And finish this off! exclamatory remark! casey
  15. Hello, first post. I installed GameEx in the morning hours after a few hours of headaches of building the computer it is running on. Its all good now, its just me being picky on stupid things, not stability. But anyways, GameEx does not play my videos. I have tested a few different videos that are different formats and whatnot but I get the same result. I hit play it goes to black it flickers once (the top bar thing comes down) it goes back to the GameEx interface i get sad Its the same every time. I did windows update, Everything...all 101 of them. I think i need to reinstall the .Net framework. but that shouldnt mess with video playback....right? Any help guys? Casey HumanMan42
