  1. What I did was... ahum... I installed PinUp Popper to have all the Visual Pinball stuff automatically downloaded and set. Then I just installed PinballX besides it and added tables. The only config I copied was the buttons in the first part of the config file. And I only had to set the DMD location and some buttons in VPX. After that it's just adding tables. New config attached: PinballX.ini
  2. I have made an image of my current install and started fresh, with a clean windows and setup. It does not happen there. If in the interest of science you would like a video I can put my image back (since it's less work than I imagined setting up fresh) and get you a video tonight. But otherwise we can leave it and I'll just put my 200 tables back in.
  3. I don't see it's the focus, because if I alt-tab cycle it doesn't come back and according to alt-tab the active window is still the table. It's also not just the first use of the plunger, it's for as long as the table is running. The ROM/EM thing I am still figuring out, since I have 200 tables installed and so far I see only these 3 doing it. Other versions of these tables make no difference.. If it would be the focus or something similar, would the plunger and ball rolling sound still work and the ball keep rolling, while other flashing lights, sounds and flippers/buttons no longer function?
  4. Well, it's me again with a very peculiar problem.... On certain tables using the plunger results in the table pausing. Meaning sound stops, lights stop, and flippers won't move. A quick tap on the plunger causes and resolves this. However, the ball will keep rolling on the table if it's in, so it's not like the whole thing is paused. It's like the electricity is cut off? Tables that have this behavior so far: Alien Poker, Andromeda and Mr. & Mrs. Pacman. I have not checked them all, but most seem to behave normal. My log and ini are attached. The CustomVP has nothing to do with it, I swapped it out with the regular exe to test. Launching the tables directly, outside of PinballX, does not give me this problem/behaviour. Suggestions, please? EDIT: It's not the entire ' electricty' that stops I see now... Ball rolling sound, bumpers etc keep working.... but flashing lights and sound and flippers stop. log.txt PinballX.ini
  5. This did it. It was off. I have no idea why it worked for years, but yes everything works fine again now. Thank you!
  6. Frankly, if I have to settle for something like that as a 'solution', I'll first take my chances on trying a complete clean reinstall. Although I've never installed it from scratch and I'm not sure what I'll run into. The thing is that it's clear to me that with those specific tables there is substantially more delay before the table appears (because it waits for the timeout). With the ahk that delay will still be there. With the alt-tab I can see and just know that the back screen is the last thing loaded and active, wich makes me think that's where the problem is. I just don't know enough about PinballX to know how and in what order it loads things (and thus if my suspicion has any meritt). I'm hoping for a solution still, if not I guess I'll have to take the plunge
  7. Everything is running as admin. No result.
  8. But I think the whole wait (and then the timeout) is the reason for the problem. The timeout comes after the wait, no matter how long you wait. The question is, what is it waiting for ? If I load the table under VPX directly there is no wait, it just loads.
  9. I tried and I also renamed the table to make sure no residual settings were being picked up from somewhere. Didn't change a thing. log.txt
  10. I guess it is, although I don't know why. I bought the cabinet pre-installed and just left all that as it was, and it has worked fine like that up till now. I did updates though over the years, to VPX and Vpinmame. Should I change that to the vpx executable ? If so, what will happen when I run a .vpt table that needs VP9 ?
  11. Yes, I run Pinball FX and Pinball Arcade directly off of steam, outside of PinballX. Everything is running as admin. Attached are the log(s) and ini. I can clearly see the 'Visual Pinball Foreground Timout: 32' happening, but I have no idea as to why. Batman I seem to have ' fixed' by just installing another version of the table. PinballX.ini log.txt log2.txt
  12. After more than a year of just playing Pinball FX3 on my cabinet every now and then, I decided to update my PinballX installation and some tables. However, it has come to my attention that when some tables are loaded, they don't have the focus at the start, meaning I have to alt-tab to the table to get everything to work. Updating or reinstalling a table does not seem to matter. Any solution to this? Whoa Nelly is one of those tables, if this helps. Batman (just ' Batman' ) is another. It also stands out to me that those tables seem to take longer to load? Or to just come to the front? EDIT: Focus seems to stay on the backglass if that helps.
  13. I guess if you change the tablepath in the PBX settings you're good to go ?
  14. Once… It must be something on your end. Verify your game files, and/or to pinpoint the problem make another user in windows and log onto that one and see what happens there. Just the first two things you can try that come to mind.
