  1. A little update with a video if it can help to identify the problem First part, i try to switch screen at Gameex Main screen, you can see that the display is frozen on TV, but when i revert it to the CRT, Gameex main screen is working again. So no crash, but unusable on TV Second part, i launch a game, so my script to switch screen is launched before the game via advanced emulator config, and we can see that it switch to TV and then crash when launching game surely because display is frozen. Let me know if you think it can be fixed or if it is too specific to my setup to be resolved Thanks 653904266_CrashSwitchingScreen.mp4
  2. Tom, i've tested with the new dll but it's the same, Gameex directx crash error when switching screen
  3. Ok thanks Draco, I've tried on another PC to switch screen between two LCD monitor at 1920x1080, with one graphic card ,and the problem doesn't appear, Gameex works without problem switching from one screen to the other one. On the PC that has problem switching screen i use a GTX 1030 for the CRT and a RTX 3070ti for the TV. Both use the same Geforce driver So yes the problem seems to appear specifically with 2 gaphic cards
  4. With scaling 100% on both screen doesn't resolve the problem, same behavior With a default theme same behavior too
  5. Good recap Draco, that's it ! With fullscreen windowed, same crashs But when i switch screen from main menu, i have a black screen on my TV instead of a frozen main menu Surely a scaling problem between 1280x960 and 3840x2160 I use a custom theme, i'll try with a standard one
  6. -Display is fullscreen -Gameex launched from the TV without the script to switch screen works fine and launch PC games on TV normally I've another script to switch back to the CRT when the PC game exit and it crashes gamex too. Notice that if i run the script to switch to TV from "outside" of gameex, so not before a game launch, but on the main page, it has a strange behavior Gameex is displayed on the TV but the graphics are frozen and control doesn't respond. Then if i launch the script to get back to CRT, gamex is working normally again. No crash but hangs on TV
  7. Hi I have a specific setup with 2 graphic cards One attached to a CRT, it's my main monitor where i launch Gameex, and the second one attached to a 4k TV The CRT run at 1280x720 and the TV at 3840x2160. When i run GameEX on the CRT, the TV display is not activated, and to play PC games, i launch a DisplayMagician command line (with "Run before" in Emu advanced config ) to switch screen from CRT to TV before launching a game. So the CRT becomes off and TV is on at 4k. The script works but just after switching screen, Gameex crash saying a DirectX error, log attached. I don't know if it can be fixed but i have no problems at all switching screen with other apps open (f.e. steam opened on the crt then switch to tv is ok) I'm on Windows 11 and scaling setting is 100% for the CRT and 300% for TV Can this be resolved ? 8. Yes, just after the crash. I use LAV codecs. My video directory is a local path D:\Video . I've tried another local path but it does the same thing
  9. Hi I've got a problem with "Video" menu. When selected, it seems to scan some drawers (not only the video path apparently) with please wait screen, and then crash to desktop. I've tried to change videos path in case of one video could be faulty but it's the same. I've tried to use another codec pack but it's the same (note that background videos in the home menu is working ) I don't know from wich version it doesn't work anymore. It was working fine before. I've tried without network too because i have a SERVIIO media server that could cause problem but it's the same -> crash to desktop after "please wait" screen Finaly i've tried other theme because i use custom menu but it's the same Any idea ? 10. So no other way than reecode my +8000 videos snaps ? Is Evolution able to handle videos aspect ratio or is it the same problem?
  11. It's a bit annoying not to be able to use 16: 9 and 4: 3 artworks on the same setup without stretching Despite that, Gamex is still the most flexible front end, so it's ok, but it would be perfect if it could be fixed
  12. I play 16:9 games in 1280x720 so yes it adds a border on top and bottom but tha'ts better than a stretched image. I've already reencoded some videos menu for emulators wich was 1280x720 videos to 1280x960 (with black border on top & bottom ) and it's fine but as emumovies & other sources provides 16:9 videos snaps, i don't want to reencode them all. And it's the same with background images, they are stretched too. Can such option be added in the future or is it a limitation of the engine ? EDIT : But it seems to work with some artworks. PSX game box art are square pictures and are not stretched........Don't know why it works for some pictures and not for all....I think the engine is set to fill the height so vertical image like boxes art are not stretched, but if width is too high its stretched to fill the height. As it's the same problem for guys with a 16:9 screens and 4:3 snaps (black borders are left & right ), I am surprised to be the only one to make the remark. Perhaps you could add a test and if width is superior to height then image/video fill width instead of height. I don't know if it's feasible like that or it's not planned. Thanks
  13. Hi I use a 4:3 CRT monitor and a resolution of 1280x960 for Gameex The video snaps for most systems fill the screen because they are 4:3 videos but for some systems that use 16:9, the video snaps are stretched Is there a setting to force video snaps ratio to be conserved and not stretched to fill the entire screen I've tried to use 1280x720 resolution for Gameex and it's the same : 16:9 videos looks great but 4:3 are stretched to 16:9 How to modify this ?
