Like TalkingBull, I also used mameroom. I bought the same cabinet. I have to say I was disappointed in the quality. It's basically particle board with a nice smooth coating. Screws do not hold well. If I had the time and skill, I would have built one myself. But I'm not skilled in woodwork and the cost of a pre-fab cabinet outweighed the cost of purchasing the tools. I wish I would have looked harder for a used cabinet though. The most difficult part for me was mounting the monitor. I bought a Wells Gardner 27" monitor. I thought that mameroom would provide a way to mount it, but they didn't I had to figure out a way to keep it in place and brace it. Another learning experience. I bought all of my arcade parts from Happ. Awesome place. The bezel they sell is junk though. A flimsy piece of plastic. That was definitely a waste of money. And shipping alone was $30 (US). I'm going to be hiring someone to fabricate a nice bezel out of wood, because I still don't have one. Overall, the entire cost of my cabinet without the bezel and including a budget PC is $2,500 (US). There are a ton of things I would have done differently if I had the chance. If I were rich, I would drop $15,000 on a CNC router Hope all goes well with yours! eg

Well, it's been quite a while since I've been here. Kind of took a long break from my cabinet. So first off, hello again :-) This is the first thread I'm posting to because it seems like the most recent reply to an ongoing bezel dilema I've been reading about. I've been having trouble setting up bezels. I tried setting it up in mame32FX111 and it didn't work. Then I just tried running from the command line: d:\mame 111\mame btime -use_bezels ....and it didn't work. The game played, but with no bezel (the game is Burger Time btw) I tried the other switches like -use_overlays, -artwork_crop and -use_backdrops. Nothing worked. I have the artwork in a zip file (btime.zip) in the artwork folder. I even extracted everything from the zip file (3 different files) into the artwork folder. (I also tried 1942 to no avail). I got the artwork from a torrent entitled "Mame 111 Extras" Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, eg

What emulator are you using? As far as I knew, the latest version of chankast is pretty old (has not been updated in a while) and not all games are playable. I could be wrong. In any case, use the tutorial and config from Headkaze....you will need chankast_launch and Daemon tools. His tutorial is really step-by-step. Is this the one you were having trouble following? http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?showtopic=752 eg

Anyone know a good place to get MNG/AVI MAME Vid Clips?

Yeah, it's the getting started part that's got me puzzled. After an hour of trying to figure it out, I gave up. But I have ideas! Lot's of them! Looking forward to a tut

I've been trying to figure out how to get psx 1.4 to run from GamEx. It seems like it would need a wrapper, similar to the Chankast one. But I can't figure it out. Can someone help? I prefer this emu to epsxe because it runs a couple of games that epsxe does not. One in particular - rival schools. I've tried every psx emulator out there and this is the only one that would play this game. Plus it plays everything else I have, including chrono cross. Hope someone knows how to do this. Thanks in advance! eg *This is frustrating....I went to the section for user uploaded configs and clicked on new post, and it posted out here instead. Sorry if this is misplaced*

Maybe I'm the only one, but I can't figure out how to use the theme editor. Hate to sound like such an idiot, but is there a tutorial in the future? Thanks, eg

I hope that's the case and it's back up soon. It would suck to lose such a great resource! eg

Anyone know what happened to emumovies? I've been away for a while.

I've used multiple basic sidewinder usb gamepads for two player console games, and each emulator accepted them. The only thing I can't remember is if the controller configs for each emulator was saved after exit. That would be good to know if you find out. Give a shot out if it does or doesn't. eg

Black laminate. It's expensive at Home Depot (at least where I live) but it's a great finishe. You can also look at the cabinets at mameroom.com. It's an awesome site and you may even be tempted to purchase one of their cabinet kits :-) eg

Try putting a semicolon after the filter. *.nes; even if that is the only filter you are using. If you also want to see .zip files, then put *.nes;*.zip; - with no spaces. Hope this works! eg
