  1. GameEx loads to the update prompt. I accept the update, but, never see a progress bar move (Step 1/2 downloading update...) and just sits, . It eventually appears to close gameex & restart it, but, once again, it is sitting at the update prompt. Been through the cycle about five times. If I choose "Back" I can skip the update & GameEx runs fine (running version 9.45). What's the best way to try to resolve this without losing my current setup/config? Maybe backup the config file & do a clean install from the newest version, or, install the newest version over the current install? Hope I'm not re-posting, but, I read through the FAQ & searched the forum & couldn't find anything Any insight appreciated, thanks
  2. After more & more tinkering with AHK & RWKeymaster/Factory, I am basically back where I started. The AHK/RWKey combo works great in Windows & lots of other applications (the VLC Player plugin for example). RWKeymaster works great as the primary driver, but, once I load GameEx, the remote dumbs down to just responding as a mouse. Using ATI's driver, I gain function of the up/down/left/right arrows, OK/Enter, and even FF/Rewind, but, It would sure be nice to be able to press CTRL (to pause movies) and ESC (to exit EMUs, etc). ATI's driver allows me to assign the 6 assignable buttons (A-F; which I have used for PGUP, PGDN, etc), but, it would sure be nice to assign the "PAUSE" button on the remote to the keyboard stroke from CTRL. Seems so close, but, just not quite. Is anyone out there using an ATI Remote Wonder (or even another X10) remote in GameEx? If so, what are you using for a config? Guess I may just have to give up and use a wireless joystick with the AHK Joystick Plugin as a mouse script and a wireless keyboard... Anyone have a more dialed script for AHK in GameEx using a PS2 style controller? Appreciate any insight.
  3. I have been hoping to find an easy way to change the order of the Menu items (i.e. I would want "All Multimedia" on top). I was hoping that this could be achieved by editing the Text/Language config, but, since it doesn't automatically organize the menus alphabetically (as I originally thought), it had no effect. So, my guess is that the only way to re-organize the menu items is to create my own (or edit an existing) theme... Is that correct?
  4. I took this advice & tried ahkosk. While it docked easily enough, but, as soon as I highlight the transparent red spot on the toolbar (which is flickering constantly), the keyboard appears on top of GameEx, but, flickers to the point of being unusable. It appears fine outside of GameEx. Did you have this issue? Any ideas? Thanks.
  5. For future reference (probably one for the too obvious to mention category), the issue was related to "Enable Keyboard Directimp" and/or "Enable Custom Keyboard." For some reason, I had both set to "Yes" and with either one of them enabled, the remote doesn't function as a keyboard. With those options turned off, the remote works extremely well with just the native ATI software. Adding AHK to the arsenal is going to make it even better (once I spend a little time & figure out AHK/WinLIRC). Thanks for the advice!
  6. Thanks for the quick reply. The plugin that I had the most hope for was the RW Keymaster (here is a link to The Green Button where someone has dialed in a setup one of these with MCE 2005). http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/thread/45129.aspx It seems like what I need (allowing you to assign any key to virtually any function), but, the buttons outside of the mouse just don't seem to respond, no matter what function I assign. I have also seen a list of application-specific plug-ins at: http://remotew.free.fr/plugins.htm Just wondering if anyone knew the best configuration for this setup.
  7. Howdy. I'm a newly registered user (setting up an HTPC). Best software money I have ever spent. From the beginning, I had in my head that the best solution for an (Windows-based) HTPC remote would be the ATI Remote Wonder. Since I already had one that came with an AIW card I bought a few years back, it was my first choice for input. When it comes to running Windows and most of the applications I have tested, the remote functions fully as a mouse & functions as a keyboard at the same time (i.e. if I open notepad, I can use the # keys to type 1-9, up-arrow, down-arrow, hit Enter, trigger keyboard events from the programable buttons, etc), but, once in GameEx, it's as though it detects the mouse only functions of the remote (minus scroll, just left & right click & analog-direction). I would love to be able to scroll through menus with the up and down (or assign PgUP PgDN), hit Escape, Enter and so on, and it seems like it should work, but, just doesn't. I'm not sure if I have my input options set incorrectly (I have noted several places in the GameEx configuration where it references turning on and off mouse/keyboard/joystick input functions). Maybe I just need the right ATIRW plugin (I have experimented with a few for other or open-ended applications, but, no success)? Anyone have any suggestions? (again, I have the original Remote Wonder, I'm runninng XP Pro and plan to upgrade to GameEx 9.3 when I get home) Thanks!
