  1. Thanks Mike.. yeah. it does the job and packs away neatly.. The LED strips are Philips Hue lightstrips. Philips has Windows software you install, and it screengrabs a monitor and mirrors the colour on the lightstrip. You can then set the brightness intensity of the strip which whatever music is playing, so looks pretty rad when the ball hits bumpers etc. I tried looking at DOF but it was far too complicated for me and the Philips software did what I wanted anyway.. Cheers..
  2. Just a standard no frills Hori Fighting Stick 3 so my setup doubles as a Mame/Pinball machine. I don't/can't have a full size cab so the main playfield is a 28" 4K screen that sits in a drawer. I bought some Philips Hue lightstrips that go around the monitor for a bit of extra bling. And when done, slides back into the drawer..
  3. Thanks @joyrider3774 & @Tom Speirs.. I turned off media matching and it fixed it. This is in Game Manager.. The wheel images are named "R-Type (Irem 1987).png" & "R-Type II (Irem 1989).png", so it all seems logical that it works. Excerpt from mame.xml <game name="rtype"> <description>R-Type (Irem 1987)</description> <rom></rom> <manufacturer>Irem</manufacturer> <year>1987</year> <type>Arcade</type> <hidedmd>True</hidedmd> <hidetopper>True</hidetopper> <hidebackglass>True</hidebackglass> <enabled>True</enabled> <rating>0</rating> </game> <game name="rtype2"> <description>R-Type II (Irem 1989)</description> <rom></rom> <manufacturer>Irem</manufacturer> <year>1989</year> <type>Arcade</type> <hidedmd>True</hidedmd> <hidetopper>True</hidetopper> <hidebackglass>True</hidebackglass> <enabled>True</enabled> <rating>0</rating> </game> However, once in PBX it shows up as But with Media matching turned off, it's all fixed.. I'm sure you can understand my confusion. I've found other oddities with media not working as intended (but can't remember specific examples), so hopefully this should now be fixed. Thanks again all.
  4. So I've got a weird issue with MAME and R-Type & R-Type 2, in that I have both r-type & rtype2 wheel images in the folder, but in PBX, it shows the RType2 wheel image for both games. If I remove the wheel image for RType2, it shows Rtype logo and the text substitute for Rtype 2.. The same things happens for Mr Do and Mr Dos Castle. Any suggestions to fix it?
  5. I'm currently making a hybrid 2 screen setup with an arcade stick so want to include Mame. However, I want to use GameEX. Currently when I boot the machine it automatically launches into PinballX, and would like to have a pinball as 'GameEX' which then boots into the GameEX front end. However, I'll be stuffed if I can work out how to boot an external app from PinballX. Any ideas?
