  1. Sorry for the double post, just wanted to say that nullDC is great... but I don't really have much interest in having Dreamcast, PS2, Saturn, or Playstation games on an arcade machine... those games take up a huge amount of space, and generally are meant to be played for a very, very long time, so, I play them on the original consoles or my PC (Shenmue for life, btw). I put SegaCD on there as an exception to the rule since it has so few games, and, quite a few of them are extensions of their Sega CD titles (Eternal Champions CD, Sonic CD) or are easily playable/savable (Popful Mail) to facilitate the typically shorter bursts of play that standing at an arcade cabinet lends itself to.
  2. The first and only time I tried future pinball, I was impressed by it visually, but slightly underwhelmed by the number of tables that had been recreated... I would have kept it and collected the tables, but, the version I had would not let you use fullscreen on a low resolution monitor, like an arcade screen. Have they fixed the resolution thing by now? Visual Pinball 8 and 9 are great and have provided me with a ridiculous amount of playtime in the past few weeks, some of the newer full-screen recreations are absolutely incredible, and the dream of playing any of them on a 16:9 display is mouth-watering...
  3. I can't seem to get my game list to update for super nintendo, etc, and other emulators other than MAME... What is the correct procedure to make GameEx update the list of a given emulator? I don't see an option anywhere... Thanks, -JX
  4. Thanks for the links, guys, that forum link has proven super helpful... it's useful for me to see what others have done, because I'm scatterbrained and forgetful... now I have a couple "target" machines to shoot for... So again, thanks!
  5. Hey guys, I have GameEx on my arcade machine now, and so far I've set up about 10 emulators on it... But, I could really use a bit of input from you guys, because I feel like it's incomplete and missing something. Here's what I have: Monitor: Standard Arcade Monitor from Street Fighter 2. Controls: Arcade machine with 2 Happ Joystick/6 Button combos, flipper buttons for pinball, and utility buttons for MAME... 2-4 joysticks Emulators: 1) MAME 2) Sega CD 3) Genesis 4) SNES 5) NES 6) Sega Master System 7) Atari 2600 8) Daphne 9) Pinball Recreations 10) Original Pinball Now, what I'd like, would be a list of good emulators to use with any and all unlisted systems (maybe just run down the list of your emulators screen in gameex if you have time?)... But, I'm not really interested in emulating things like PS, PS2, Dreamcast, etc... really only things that are of manageable size (Sega CD and Dragon's Lair being the exceptions, above)... So, do you guys have any emulator suggestions that are good for gamepad/arcade stick control that don't have individually super-huge roms? Also of interest would be any PC games that can easily be made compatible with those control mechanisms... Thanks in advance, I know you guys are probably busy, just trying to flesh out my arcade machine experience. -JX
  6. Yeah, a built in way would be nice, but if anyone has a neat "reach out and find my wiimote and connect to it script" I certainly wouldn't mind loading it and other scripts dynamically with bat files or front-end loaders before playing my games... such a setup wouldn't be *too* cumbersome, and certainly about 5 times better than what I currently have to do, which is find the device every time I want to use it. BTW, Oqqalz, that wii cliip is pretty cool. How'd you make it?
  7. I have the same problem, currently, but... I'm sure that if we can get the wiimote working well as a lightgun, someone will figure that out... I've read that using BlueSoleil may in fact solve the issue for some people, but it's not free I don't think... so, there are ways to do it I believe. Anyway, the wiiclip above looks nice, and, I made my own IR sensor thing for the same reason (wanted one for PC and cab)
  8. Hey guys, I have been toying with the wiimote as a lightgun for MAME and I was wondering if we all shouldn't try to contribute some links to other retrogamers and gameex users some good links for our hobby. I am still looking for a really good lightgun script and maybe some driving game scripts. I have tried a few at www.wiili.org There seem to be a ton of them here: http://www.wiili.org/forum/glovepie-wii-mo...s-t360-s15.html but they are completely unorganized... Anyone with better links?
  9. My emulator/mp3 collection is pretty large, and I have a little trouble scrolling all the way down to "S" for street fighter. I don't really want to browse by category all the time, so, is there a way to scroll through games faster?
  10. Thanks, I found this on my own after posting, it's -screen /.//DISPLAY2 or something very close to that. But, more importantly, I found a solution that seems to work for just about all other applications and emulators that might be used with GameEx... For me, it was breaking out an old copy of Ultramon, which happens to have a very quick method of choosing the "primary" display. So, what I do is simply switch my "primary" output to monitor 2 while GameEx is being used, and leave the settings alone... There are probably several other solutions similar to Ultramon, some probably even free, but, this is the one that solves my issue.
  11. I just installed GameEx, it looks really nice and seems to do most of what it's supposed to... However, with my particular installation, I am using the "Output to secondary monitor" feature... The problem I am confronted with is that it seems that MAME and other emulators want to run on the primary monitor and not the one that GameEx is on. Does anyone have a solution for this, one that isn't "just use your arcade cabinet as your primary display"? Thanks
