  1. Sorry if this has been addressed before, but I was wondering if there is a way to display a random video in the DMD screen during game selection / game play? What I have is an assortment of videos that I want to play in the DMD screen on machines that do not use the DMD. I have written a batch file to run at the table launch that will rename a randomly selected file to a specific name (i.e. runfile.mp4). However, since PinballX looks for the same filename as the table file, I cannot use the single filename to work with every table. (I hope that made sense). So the question is, is there a way to tell PinballX to just use the specific filename for selected tables? Or does the random file have to be named the same as the table file? Thanks!
  2. Hi Tom, I noticed that after updating to this latest version, whenever I try to view Instruction on Pinball FX3 tables the front end will just close. This doesn't happen with the Visual Pinball tables. By the way, thanks for getting that conversion feature implemented. Anyway, not quite sure what can be done about the drop out, or maybe I am missing something. Just thought I would let you know. Thanks!
  3. Hi all, I am using the PinballX Database Manager to configure the tables in my PinballX setup. In going through and editing the table details, such as theme, type, # of players etc., I do not see how those field entries can be utilized as a selection to sort tables within PinballX. Is it possible to have lists that sort by these fields? If so, how can it be done? Hopefully it doesn't involve manually setting up individual xml databases. Also, when using the default list, I see the typical selections for Stern, Williams etc. How can you setup a list for the smaller table manufacturers? Looking forward to your replies. Rob
  4. Hmmmm, I have been using Database Manager to setup the games with the table audio files etc. I saw some weird games in the FX3 list like Redcup 2 etc. But it didn't look like they were for anything in FX3 and there definitely weren't enough in the list to account for the number of missing games that are in my FX3 purchased games list. If it isn't doing that, like it seems it should be, what would I look for?
  5. Hi again, Another issue related to Pinball FX3. I have noticed that several tables have not imported to PinballX. I am running the Steam version of FX3 and the majority of the tables are showing up fine and working. How can I get the rest of the tables into the front end? I have tested the games standalone and they work fine. Just not sure how to make them import from FX3. Thanks much!
  6. Hi all, I noticed yesterday that I got a pretty substantial update to Steam. I have all of the Pinball FX tables and up until this update, they have all be working flawlessly. However, since the update, I am seeing that after I open a few tables, they will start to load through PinballX, they will bring up the FX3 screen for a few seconds and then drop out to my desktop. If I do an Alt-Tab I can get back into the table and it plays fine. It will also exit fine. If I go to open another table it will do the same thing. Opening tables directly in FX3 works fine. Opening my Virtual Pinball tables through PinballX works fine. I have disable any run before and run after commands and those made no difference. The only thing I can think of is the update had something to do with this. Has anyone else run into this problem recently? Thanks!
  7. AWESOME! Seems to be working like a champ now! Thank you simbamame!!!
  8. I'm having the same issue as well. Running the latest Visual Pinball in Admin mode. Game starts ok but exit goes back to the VP editor. Need to Alt-F4 the VP to get back to PinballX
  9. Hi everyone, If my question has been answered elsewhere, please let me know where to find it . I have tinkered with PinballX and Virtual Pinball in the past with mixed success. Over the past couple of years I have built a cabinet build and am currently using the Steam version of Pinball FX3. The game works great in the cabinet but I really want to get back to using PinballX again so I can access the games directly without having to navigate through all of the Steam BS. What I am looking for are some semi-noob level instructions on how to properly configure PinballX to work with the cabinet mode Steam FX3. I also have a Zebsboard D/A plunger (which I have yet to get to work with FX3. So if anyone has any recommendations on how to get it all up and running I would be forever grateful! Looking forward to hearing what the experts have to say here! Thanks in advance. Rob

  11. Hi all, I just saw on the PinballX site, under FTP, that access to the PinballX files via FTP is free for now. How does a registered user access that? I already have an account and the info on the page directs you to create an account here on the GameEx site. I have tried to access via the FTP info shown here but am told I cannot login. Is there something I am missing? Or is the info on the PinballX page in error? Thanks! Rob
