  1. Hi, I post only to tell that as of version 2.87 of Ootake the iso loading problem is solved, so thanks to the developer for updating this fantastic emulator.
  2. @RedDog You are right, I didn't find any Ootake forum to ask for this as it seems more japanese speaking and thought more people should use it this way. I am back to version 2.80 that works very well indeed.
  3. Thanks, the cue file support is broken from Ootake version 2.81 I tried from dos commandline and what version 2.80 launches 2.81 and upwards just doesn't. I also tried using the /CD switch but it keeps telling me the arguments are too long.
  4. Hi, I was using Ootake in a previous version 2.80 I think and have my PC Engine ISOs installed in the install dir of Ootake via the fullinstall method (ripping in CUE+WAV), this worked very well launching from commandline "ootake.exe "Rompath\Rom.cue" but now with the newest versions of Ootake it doesn't load, it just says couldn't load rom.cue and then mainboard init error. I know I could mount the isos with DT but as it launched them previously, maybe there is a new swith or something to configure to run them again. Thanks for your help.
  5. Hi, I finally did a backup of my GameEx folder and then erased it. I reinstalled GameEx and now the menus work perfectly and it is a lot faster. Now the question is... which files I have to put back in my current GameEx folder so I don't have to reconfigure all emulators paths, etc? Thanks for the help. EDIT: The problem has to do with my gameex.ini file, only replacing that file causes the problem, I will continue to check
  6. Hi, I finally managed to install again GameEx, the problem was that XP 64 blocked the setup file because it was downloaded on another computer. I unlocked it and worked flawlessly. Now GameEx loads faster but still I got the issue of not seeing any text in the menu to run the games, I can see the list of games, but when I select one of them I cannot execute it. The Recent Played List also doesn't show any game. I thought too that the problem is related to .NET 3.5, the XP I am using is called RetrOS and of course is nLited version for emulation purposes so it should be missing some components. .NET 3.5 starts to install, but always give an error before finishing. Any idea of what to try? Thank you very much.
  7. Hi, I had my rig running on Windows 7 and with GameEx totally configurated. As I had some problems in Windows 7 to run some older emulators I decided to install Windows XP x64 SP1, now the emulators work but I cannot install GameEx. When I execute the GameEx setup program it does nothing. I have a copy of the GameEx Folder from my Windows 7 install, I can run it from Windows XP x64 but I have some problems, it loads very very slowly (minutes) and more important, when it's loaded and I select a game from super nes for example, when It goes to the submenu to run this game, there is no text, so I cannot execute it. Windows XP x64 has installed the Directx Runtime and dotNET 2, tried to install dotNET 3.5 but failed too. I am using GameEx latest version. Regards.
  8. Hi, I updated to latest GameEx 9.12 after rebuilding my MAME romset to v.123. I noticed that the screensaver didn't work, the rom loaded and then inmediatly returned to GameEx frontend. The log says everything is OK (only shows that game plays for couple ms). I tried to run several games that did the same, while others run perfectly. For example Commando (World) doesn't run from GameEx, but if I run it from the commandline it works perfect, so is not a problem with the MAME config or the AVGAres tool (I am using an ArcadeVGA card). I have rebuild the mame list from GameEx, run another time AVGAres, erased the arguments in MAME commandline, and even used another MAME... I don't know what more to try. I think is a specific problem with MAME, the console emulators seem OK, and the blank screensaver works, but some MAME games work and others no. I am not 100% sure but I think that most games that don't work are vertical ones, horizontals seem ok, but I haven't tried everyone. What more should I try? Thanks in advance EDIT: In fact the problem was only with vertical games. I solved activating the ArcadeVGA mode, but this way it stretches some games looking less original than with mame directly. The good is that it keeps the correct aspect ratio. Has someone configured properly MAME set 123 with ArcadeVGA?

    Games Missing

I am using clrmame right now to update my set to version 0.123. I will check this evening if everything is working now, but this is the way I usually do it. I will double check also my GameEx config, maybe there is a problem with it. EDIT: It works! The problem should be that the romset and the emu were not the same version. Now GameEx recognices the full romset.

    Games Missing

I have this problem since earlier versions of GameEx. When I update the MAME emu with a newer one version it redoes a list of the romset but I think it misses some roms. For example the Salamander 2 game it doesn't appear but I haven't configured any filter in the menu, nor the config. Is this normal? What should I check? I am using latest MAME 0.123 Thanks in advance
