  1. My listinfo.xml file is being rebuilt for 10 minutes each time I launch GameEx Evolution... It's running now in the background and I did a full search for that file and I don't see it on my hard drive.. I did set both gameex.exe executables to Run as Administrator.. what am I missing here? There are a few other xml's that it creates after this one, too.. but this is the one that takes a LONG time.. Thanks! gameex.ini:
  2. .Net 2-3 is not included in .net4.. However, the gameex installer does install the appropriate dotnet and visual c++ redistributables if necessary.. So no issue there.. UAC was disabled.. Please install a fresh windows 10 that hasn't had gameex on it and try it out..
  3. I've installed windows 10 on my intel nuc dn2820fykh.. i'm assuming that's not an AMD GPU, but what do I know.. Not sure what Raptr Gaming Involved is.. and no, unless it came with Windows 10, I don't have it installed or running. I did include procmon filtered output.. so that's "something" to go on.. just download procmon and open the file I attached on the first post.. You could also install a fresh windows10 machine and install dotnet3 using the "dism" command line above, and then this gameex arcade edition.. most likely you'll see the crash first hand..
  4. It was a fresh windows 10 install, so no, lav codec is not installed.. is there a documented prerequisite list somewhere that I missed?
  5. As a last ditch effort, I downloaded the regular GameEx package and uninstalled the GameEx Arcade Edition and installed this one.. and it loaded up just fine.. GAH!
  6. @stigzler , if you're basing your comments off of the log.txt I attached, then please note that I said my machine is not writing to that file.. that file was what came with the installer.. which would explain the dropbox stuff (I assume, as I don't use dropbox for anything) and the Tom Speirs' machine stuff you saw in the log. As an update, I have reinstalled a fresh windows 10 install on this machine (it renamed c:\windows and reinstalled it).. I then enabled .Net Framework 2/3 and then installed GameEx Arcade Edition from a fresh download.. I didn't run the setup wizard, but I did set the gameex.exe to "run as administrator".. I fired it off and.. AND.. it crashed. I then uninstalled it and it's VC++ redistributables, and downloaded VC++ 2008/2010 32bit and 64bit redistributables from MS and installed those.. then reinstalled GameEx.. and.. it crashed still.. I'm essentially out of time for the party tonight.. but now this thing is just ticking me off.. Happy New Year!
  7. I downloaded AppCrashView and it read the report.wer file for me.. sadly, it doesn't point at the problem as obviously as I had hoped.. The report:
  8. Boo.. no help there.. Log file attached.. but it wasn't written to.. is there some permission change I need to do somewhere? log.txt
  9. RedDog, I just tried that before reading your post... haha.. I copied in the gameex.default.ini and it didn't work.. then I deleted the gameex.ini all together and it didn't work.. I'm now removing the gameex installed .net framework and GameEx.. I ran DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:NetFx3 /All /LimitAccess /Source:d:\sources\sxs To install .Net Framework 2/3.5/etc just now and I'm about to reboot and reinstall the GameEx Arcade Edition again.. crossing my fingers...
  10. Tom, the gameex log file is not written to.. It still has the Dec 23rd file that you built this release with.. DazzleHP, I'll have to check the UNC paths that you mention..I don't recall typing any of those during set up. I did see, after my post, that the mame executable was set to mame32.exe.. I corrected that to mame64 instead, as I installed 64 bit version.. No noticable change, though.. I'm available for a remote desktop session if that's an option? Is anyone able to decode the crash report file to something meaningful? I'd suspect the answer is in there...? Thanks!
  11. I am hoping to use this install at a New Year's Eve party tomorrow night.. sooo.. if anyone has any ideas, please speak up.. I was able to run MAME64.exe independently and it played games (after I configured the directories, etc).. My MiniIPAC even worked! yay
  12. I just installed the GameEx Arcade Edition into c:\GameEx on a fresh Windows 10 machine.. I've attempted to set up all the "extras" folders, etc.. Windows Event Log shows: I attached the report.wer file from C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\AppCrash_gameex.exe_da7d5025fd4b3926c3ed611662e921ff7f82a76_00000000_0ca4e7fe. I've also captured and attached a ProcMon output filtering by Process is GameEx.exe, in case that helps. Verify Setup output is below.. do I need to clear up all of these missing directories? I have the other emulators "disabled" in the config file, AFAIK.. GameEx.ini Thank you for your time! GameEx-ProcMon.zip Report.wer
