  1. I'll be damned that was it. I just assumed you had to create one. this is the first emulator I setup in game ex besides mame of course. and no it's the first is path, second is name, unless we are talking about something different. I tried to modify the second one and it modified my name to .lnk, not sure if that's what your supposed to do though. thank you very much.
  2. I've gone through the forums and thankfully I finally got it working fine. There is one thing that I would like to know for future reference. I can get the games to load when I add the extension .lnk after [ROMPATH] like [ROMPATH].lnk. TaitoSC is just the shortcut file the SFIV.lnk is located but if for whatever reason I had more then one extension I would assume it would not work. any help would be appreciated. thank you the .map file SFIV.lnk|SFIV console window after trying you can see no extension F:\GameEx>F: F:\GameEx>CD "F:\Taito Type X\Roms\ArcadePC Loader\TaitoSC" ECHO is on. "F:\Taito Type X\Roms\ArcadePC Loader\TaitoSC\SFIV" ECHO is on. F:\Taito Type X\Roms\ArcadePC Loader\TaitoSC>PAUSE Press any key to continue . . . [Emulator_1] PlayMusic=False Debug=True ShowDesktop=True MapKeys=True ManualPath= CartPath= BoxPath= TitlePath= SnapPath= Command="[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" RomPath=F:\Taito Type X\Roms\ArcadePC Loader\TaitoSC WorkingPath=F:\Taito Type X\Roms\ArcadePC Loader\TaitoSC StartPageLogo=Capcom TITLETEXT=Taito Type X STARTPAGENAME=[Arcade] Arcade Taito Type X Enabled=True lastgame= DATABASE= ReplaceDash=False MAPFile=F:\GameEx\MAP FILES\[Arcade] Arcade (Taito Type X).map configFile=Taito CustomBackground= ControlPanelPath= ReplaceUnder=False Capitals=False RemoveBrackets=False DontShowInfo=False PlayInScreenSaver=False ShowMostPlayed=False RandomMostPlayed=False PlaySelectionMusic=False ROMFilter=*.lnk log.txt
  3. I wanted to add a different kind of video in attract mode like to one or all of the screens. I'm thinking of ultracade how they play like 4 videos of games then they go back to the same video logo. something like that but adding more then just one, I was thinking adding a flipper trick video or people actually playing a live game or a video of stern factory. quick 20 or 30 second ones. Also to possibly have options similar to what you already have in attract mode settings. like, how long do you want to attract mode to go on before playing a random video. or x amount of time from file A and x amount of time from file B. it would be nice with Game EX also. thank you,
  4. I was trying to figure out if it were possible to add a different kind of video in attract mode like to one or all of the screens. I know you could rename backglass or table video of a few tables, but Is there any other way to do it? I guess I'm thinking of ultracade how they play like 4 videos of games then they go back to the same video logo. something like that but adding more then just one, I was thinking adding a flipper trick video or people actually playing a live game or a video of stern factory. quick 20 or 30 second ones. if there is a way to do it let me know thank you
  5. hello, I was trying to run mame in windowed through game ex. I set the windowed 1 in the .ini file and launched mame itself and it works fine. When I launch it through game ex it disregards my setting and puts it back in fullscreen. it is the same mame, I triple checked it and even ran another application to check that game ex was accepting my corrections I tried looking through the game ex settings and tried a few things without any luck. can someone let me know if there is a way to do this. thank you
  6. hello, I recently installed pinballx and have gotten several tables to run properly along with the active backglass. running windows 7 64, 3 monitors. this was how I had my displays setup and numbered main -3 bg - 2 dmd - 1 I was trying to find a b2s bg for a certain table and it was only available for UVP. If I read the directions correctly it said that UVP bg will auto display on monitor 3 so I tried redoing the cables on my graphics card so that my bg was monitor 3. and redoing the setting to correspond to my new windows settings. in doing so it caused the pinballx menu to display the dmd and bg on the same monitor new setup main - 1 bg - 3 dmd - 2 when loading the actual table through the menu it worked fine, but in the actual menu the bg and dmd shared the same space. I tried doing everything that other similar forum topics said like running in admin, setting compatibility settings for win 5 nt. I don't have a second video card nor onboard. and I'd rather not purchase one. I went ahead and moved everything back to the way it was. guess another solution would to be to figure out how to create a new dbs for that table. if anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it
