  1. @Draco1962 Thank you soooooo much for replying. Literally was wasting hours trying to figure out how to set that up! I’ll check out the feature request and get it added there!
  2. Greetings All, Can anyone tell me if I’m wasting my time trying to figure this out. Overall I want PinballX to launch to System Wheels (Wheel Image of FX2, FX3, etc) then once one is selected it would go to another wheel showing all games. I know you can create lists, which I have done but I’m trying to have an actual Wheel Image of all my systems which lead to the games. Possible?
  3. Just circling around on this one, I think I figured out the issue and overall it's a timing issue. If you create a BAT file that launches dmdext (but have a TIMEOUT of something like 11) it will work perfectly and without issue on every table.
  4. Thanks Mike! So turns out we had everything setup the same but it still wasn't working for me; BUT I did figure this all out. So it looks like it was a timing issue. For whatever reason when dmdext would "launch before" Pinball FX3 it was clashing with PinballX still displaying the default "real" DMD video. So what I did was create a .BAT file for dmdext and added TIMEOUT 11 so it was a delayed launch of dmdext; now it's working! Using Windows 10, Alienware Alpha (for nice small footprint). Thanks again Mike!
  5. Greetings wonderful Pinball People! My computer recently died (lost all my setup) and I’m starting fresh again. I have everything working MINUS dmdext does not work through PinballX. If I launch dmdext via CMD outside of PinballX it works like a charm but when I use the “Launch After” with PinballX it stays black. Oddly enough I can see dmdext is booting via PinballX and it says it’s receiving frames—but again blank. I seem to remember something about changing the name of a DLL (could have sworn it was changing pindmd64.dll to pindmd.dll)—but alas that is not working. Edit: Using PinDMDv3 and the 64bit versions of dmdext and pinDMD.dll. No errors in the pindmd.dll log. But please let me know what I can provide (logs, etc).
  6. Got it haha! Yeah I see it now. Unfortunately following his above instructions didn’t solve my issue. For me I had to disable DMD previews (by renaming the .dll) for Pinball Arcade to start working again. Such a bummer but oh well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    DMD & FX3

Greetings BrandonLaw, I literally have the exact same issue. Those parameters don’t seem to work. I’ve worked around it by creating a BAT file but the downfall is you need to run it as admin—so my fix was to then make it an EXE and do a Launch after. Overall it’s working like a charm now but it was a HUGE pain in the butt. If you don’t find any answers, let me know and I can write up my process of using a BAT / EXE to close DMDExt after changing tables. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. So I have an odd issue that just came about that is similar but also different with the recent PinballX release. Using PinDMDv3 I have real DMD previews but when I launch Pinball Arcade dmdext crashes so DMD doesn’t work in game. If I boot Pinball Arcade outside of PinballX with dmdext works like a charm. Seems to be an issue specifically with PinballX and DMD previews. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Figured it out! If anyone else runs into this issue you need to make sure Steam launches with Windows. If PinballX is what is launching a table (which then causes Steam to launch) you’ll get this error. If Steam is already running in the background you’ll be Launch error free! 11. Thanks! I saw these threads but they seemed pretty old and didn’t really go anywhere. I understand it’s a Steam error but I’m wondering how others get around it—surly someone figured out how to bypass the message? Or overall I’m just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this currently—can someone confirm? If not then it’s for sure something I need to continue to investigate. Thanks again! 12. Hey folks! Down to my last issue with my cabinet. When I launch any table from PinballX that is Pinball Arcade (using camera mod) I get a Steam prompt that says “Allow Game Launch” showing the parameters %command%. I don’t recall this happening until recently—anyone else running into this issue? I’m thinking it PinballX configuration that’s incorrect but I’m not sure. Thanks in advance! 13. THANK YOU! Both issues resolved! Only one issue left which is Steam throwing an “Allow Game Launch” error from PinballX. I bumped another thread where someone is experiencing he same issue. Hope we can get that resolved and the. I’M DONE! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Bumping this thread. I have the same issue with the “allow launch” when booting from PinballX. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Thanks for the reply! So for the registry when I change the shell to PinballX it boots to a black screen and never loads for me. Like it doesn’t even seem to attempt. Only way I have been able to have it boot directly to PinballX was that Group Policy but it crashes each time during the hide taskbar phase. I would just have it as a startup program but doing that takes a long time and you have to sit on the desktop until it loads. Are you simply going into regedit and changing the local machine shell to PinballX.exe and running as admin? As for the AHK scripts for delaying the DMDext, any chance you would attach those so I can take a peek and get an idea of how to make one? Thanks again for the reply! 16. UPDATE: Added log.txt showing me boot and everything works for FX2 (Plants vs Zombies) and not working for FX3 (Portal; goes to main menu instead of directly to table and DMD does not work). Also added .ini file. Hello! I’m running into a few issues and I feel like I’ve continually searched and searched with any resolution. Sorry if the answers are “out there”: 1. FX3 first boot. I’ve noticed that when I first boot any table from PinballX that is an FX3 table it does not go directly to the table. If I exit FX3 and launch again from PinballX it works. 2. I’m struggling booting directly into PinballX with Group Policies. PinballX crashes if booted directly on launch (replacing shell) and from what I can tell in the logs it because PinballX tries to hide the taskbar but one is not available (since explorer is not launched). 3. This may be similar to number 1 but on first launch of table dmdext does not work, again if I exit and relaunch it works. Any help would be FANTASTIC! Thanks in advance. 17. That must be what I'm missing! Is that script something that is tricky to get ahold of or create? I'm ordering a PINDMD 3 this week and I think DMDext is needed for that; so regardless I'll need to figure that all out. I didn't realize you can turn off the DMD on the playfield and then DMDext would still display! Maybe there is a way to put that script on the FTP? Thanks for the quick reply!
  18. Hello! I'll start by saying I'm sorry if this question is already on the forum; I've spent days scouring over the different posts and cannot find an answer. Overall I've got my pinball cabinet completely setup and working with PinballX except one issue. For Pinball Arcade; running the Camera Mod (which is working fantastically) I can't seem to turn off the playfield DMD without turning off my third monitors DMD as well. I've seen videos online where people have three screens (backglass, playfield and DMD) and the DMD is working perfectly and it's turned off from the playfield. For my setup it seems that whenever I turn off the DMD on the playfield (so I get the entire table) the magnified version also turns off. How are others doing this? Again I've scoured the forum and search on Google / other Pinball Arcade forums and connate for the life of me get this configured. With that being said the Camera Mod does work fantastically! Any help and guidance would be VERY much appreciated.
  19. Allrighty, I tried to compile the following script: I also copied your System_1 to my .ini. When I select a table (or run the script outside of PinballX) it attempts to loads FX2 but crashes instantly saying it cannot respond. Ideas? Do my script look good?
  20. So are you renaming the script to .exe? Also did my script look correct?
  21. OK, So here is what I just tried: Didn't seem to work. Did I miss something? Pinball FX2 never booted. I tried my Steam version too; for grins and giggles; and that didn't work either. Am I doing an incorrect way of "commenting out"? Also I have the understanding that I simply just point to this AHK file instead of the PinballFX2.exe in the PinballX Settings Wizard? THANKS AGAIN FOR THE HELP!
  22. Forgot to ask, anything else I need to comment out?
  23. OK, I'll give it a shot! The version I have is from the Windows 8 game store. Hope it works!
  24. Thanks Carny! So I'm not to good with scripting (yet). I have a couple questions. One, I have a non steam version of Pinball FX2 (I didn't like the Steam overlay stuff, so I ended up buying twice). Would I need to make changes to the script you posted? Also would I no longer need to use that other AHK that removes borders from DMD? Lastly just wanted to mention that PBX and FX2 both are running at 1080p. Thanks again!
