Hey Redog, Been using GameEx for several years now for Karaoke parties. Do a search for Karaoke Song List Creator. You can download the latest version for free.It will not only show you the proper ways to organize your files but help catalog your files for searching etc. You will find that there are multiple companies with the same songs. You will learn thru use who makes the better files. As you build your sets, you can pick an choose what to put into GameEx. I use the same structure as Karaoke Song List Creator for GameEx. Have fun

If I install the other packs, will they run under Mame. And do I put the roms etc. under mame. Or point each one separately in the setup wizard.

Thanks Tom, In the Movies folder, one of the selection is year made. So the database has it. It just doesn't show in the description.

Had done the get metafile before and nothing changed. For the last several hours I've been playing with it and have found the problem. I list my movies as "All American Bikini Car Wash (2015)" If I remove the (2015) the box and description loads. But no where in the description does it show the year of the movie. Is there something that can done so the year made shows up. In the old system it showed the year made. Also I have two pages. One is videos and one is movies. I'm using Adultry theme.They both appear to read from the same path. Videos screen show just titles. Movies show titles,collections, actors etc. If I open one of the folders in Movies it shows movies I used to have in GameEx but no longer do. I went in and cleared out the entries in movies in GameEx but they still show up. Thank you all for the help.

Just tried to access some of your sites from the system, I sent the log from. Seem to be able to access everything just fine.What files do you suggest I need to rename. Same names I've used since I've started using. GameEx. I sent the log

Hi Tom, At home now, and not working here either. Has to be a setting.Yes you did check it and everything shows working but not showing descriptions or boxart. Will send log in the morning when I get to work. Updated codecs etc. and still not showing. Videos work fine. In emulators everything shows up fine.

Hey Draco, I'm checking the box in the setup wizard that is in Multimedia that says download descriptions. Is that the correct box. Ini file attached GameEx.ini

Have been having this problem for awhile now. Gameex does not download box art or description of movies. I have install on several computers and still nothing. This version is stripped down to only a few emulators, movies, music and karaoke. Thanks for a great frontend. GameEx.ini

When I click the Get Metadata it acts like it does something but still nothing shows. Did a new install on my laptop at work and I get the same results as above. Can someone do a screen grap showing a movie with boxart and description.

No thats what's crazy. My artwork, movies , descriptions etc show up for my game systems just fine. In my multimedia section the preview movies show up fine, and the movies play fine when clicked. While browing I get no boxart or a description for the movies.

The log I posted above is from a new install. I tried to upgrade and thats when I noticed the problem. So I removed the folder and did a new install. So my Gameex backup is the same as my gameex.ini. I now have tried a number of themes, including the one I made and the boxart and description doesn't show. Going to play around with some things today at work and see if I can come up with a solution. Am not running any emulatlors in the new install only movies. Changed my resolution to several different ones and still have the problem.
