  1. Just added the catver.ini file to gameex and updated the list. Now the list appears correct. Not sure if this file fixed the problem or some other ghosty sorted itself out.
  2. I am trying to cull my game list to get rid of games I don't want. So instead of starting with an entire set, I thought I would start with the ones I know and work and then add more from there once they are tested and have all the necessary files. My issue is, I have started with just a couple of ROM's that work but when I update my game list, Gameex shows me the entire list of available games, not just the 3 in my ROM folder. I have tweaked a few filters in the advanced mame section but it doesn't seem to matter. I am using Gameex 3.0.3, Mame 0.0161 with corresponding ROMs. I have also applied the Mame system pack to Gameex. Is there a setting I am missing???? Thanks, Jason GameEx.ini
  3. Awesome, thanks Tom. The set I have is an upgraded set from the 0161 rom set. I upgraded this to 0184 using clrmamepro. For some reason the 005.zip rom was missing. Just re-downloaded it, added it to my roms and it worked. Thanks again. Jason
  4. Even if I choose C:\GameEx\Emulators\MAME\roms as my rom path, I get the same error
  5. Sorry. Have used the wrong terminology. I meant the Mame System Pack (Forget the update bit) See attached
  6. I have downloaded the Mame system update pack but when I run it I get the error "Invalid Rom Path" My setup is Gammex is in C:\Gameex Roms are in D:\MAME 0184 Roms (couldnt fit them on my C drive) Any ideas????? Thanks Jason
  7. Draco1962 I will have a look at this program and see how it goes. I found a couple of others such as IPivot and IRotate but neither worked until the registry change was applied. From searching the web it appears that Intel locked out the rotate function on certain video cards due to performance issues but the function still exists, you just need to enable it. So far I have not seen any negative effects, machine is running well so it is on to the next evolution of my machine I go......
  8. OK Fixed it..... I am running my mame machine on a laptop while I compile my games, and sort out the software in general. My laptop is hooked up to an old monitor, mounted horizontally in a temporary cocktail cabinet that I knocked up. The problem is, when I view the monitor from the control console, I can't see much as the monitor was not designed to be seen from such a low angle. When I view the monitor from the other side of the cabinet, the screen looks fine. Hence the need to rotate the screen permanently....Unfortunately the laptop I have has an onboard Intel graphics card with no rotation option.... Anyway, for those in a similar situation, here is how I fixed it. Go into your registry, back it up and make the following changes. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318\0001 Display1_EnableIndependentRotation =1Display1_EnableRotation =1Display1_IndependantRotation =1Display2_EnableIndependentRotation =1Display2_EnableRotation =1Display2_IndependantRotation =1 I didn't have all of these options available so I just changed the ones I did and it worked a treat. Note, you need to change all instances of these settings...Use the search option to search for Display1 and Display2 and change them all. This enables the rotate feature of the graphics card and allows you to rotate either the monitor or the laptop screen via the graphics options of the card. This has worked perfectly for me as I can keep the laptop orientated normally and the MAME cabinet rotated 180 degrees while I debug and sort out my system..
  9. Is it possible to rotate Gameex 180 degrees??? My current vid card doesn't allow me to rotate my desktop 180 so I was hoping gameex would do it. I noticed it can rotate +/- 90 degrees, flip Y or be put in cocktail mode, but there is no rotate 180 degrees. Thanks, Dalob
  10. Thanks Draco1962. I do see the various versions so I must be seeing clones. Will change the setting and see how it goes. GameEx is such a flexible piece of software, taking a while to get my head around all the settings. Have tried a couple of other front ends but I think this one is the one I will stick with.
  11. Except now I have multiple versions of various games.....Arghhhhhh
  12. Fixed it. Had "Use Game Filter" on. Turned it off and updated the list, now seeing all of the games.
