  1. Answere to pure arcades question just before this Post would interest me as well, because I plan to buy a PacLed64 and have 18 RGB LEDs do the magic. Will this board work with the Plugin? Thx.
  2. Hi folks, I made some additions to the cab: Software: - Added N64 (Mupen) - Added C64 (VICE with GameBase) - Added customized KODI Media Center to play Videos from external USB sticks Hardware: - Added stickers to some buttons, e.g. coin buttons have a coin slot sticker. - Added top quality SNES gamepads instead of the crappy ones - Added original N64 controllers - Added an Competition Pro Joystick for C64 Next on the plan: - Maybe add Amiga - Try Apple Airplay support Greetings, Duglim
  3. The Dell Latitude e6400 Laptop has a Bios Option to "Boot on AC restore". If I put power on the Laptop it boots, even of closed. It also sets external Display Port als default. Sadly Not Many Laptops have this Option.
  4. Last weekend I finished my latest arcade project: A Emulation Supergun Cab It's my 3rd cab in total, after a Bartop and a similar emu supergun, which I gifted to my sister. Now it was time to build a portale beast for my own. This new cab runs Arcade games and a nice set of my favorite consoles via GameEx. It's highly portable and can easily be hooked to any TV via HDMI. It any has 2 cables on the outside, a HDMI and a power cord. You can open the lid to store the gamepads and cables, if they are not needed. Hardware: - Case 80x30 cm build from 12mm MDF wood - Lid can be opened and is finished with a 3mm Lexan glass cover - Arcade buttons are convex and have dynamic lights via PacDrive. - Sanwa Joysticks - 8 Gamepads for SNES, NES, SEGA, PSX. (SNES pads will be exchanged for original ones soon, N64 Pads are also planned) - The Computer is a DELL E6400 Laptop with Core2Duo 2,5 Ghz and 4GB Ram - 1TB HD, 13 USB Ports - 2x 90mm case fans, running on 5V, very silent. Software: - Windows 10 Home - GameEx with GameRoomEX2 Theme - Mame 0.157 with full set. No clones. - Retroarch for Console emulation - Xpadder for the gamepad mappings Configured Systems: - Arcade (Mame) - SNES - NES - Genesis - MasterSystem - TurboGrafx-16 - Atari 2600 - NeoGeo AES - 3DO - PSX - Gameboy - GameBoy Advance - GameGear - NeoGeo Pocket Color (- N64 upcoming) All systems run with No-Intro romsets, with JAP only roms filtered out. Since it was my 3rd cab, it was done quite easily within about 20 hours. Configuring the software was another 20 hours, since I setup lot of things from scratch and moved all the console emulators to retroarch, to have the same configs and UIs. Was a really importtant step for my needs. Especially for having the same Scanline overlays in all the emulators is now possible. Hope you like this kind of cab! If I compare it to my bartop, it's much more pleasant for entertaining gaming nights, since I can sit in the couch, habe a large TV screen and playing consoles with the original gamepads is simply great. Greetings and thanks for all the helpful information here in this forum and the brilliant GameEx software. I will never go back to HyperSpin. Duglim
  5. I'm also looking for the update PAKs, mainly for the theme files for: - Neo-Geo AES - Neo-Geo Pocket Color Maybe anyone can send me the 2 image files? It's all I need. Thx, Duglim
  6. Hi Tom, thanks for this valuable information. This made the tick indeed, I was able to reinstall an old build on top and now it's working. Thanks a lot! Just for curiosity: What is the new sugeested way to filter out roms? Using a map file? I really liked the easyness of having the exclude roms functionallity with wildcards, so I do not need to hassle with map lists or sorting out manually. Filtering all Japan and BIOS roms manually is not doable, alone for the full SNES romset it's +2.200 roms in total with only around 850 with JAPAN filtered out. Many thanks again and greetings, Duglim
  7. Oh, I see, sorry. I will add my gameex.ini and log.txt in the evening. Affected are all emulators, all ROMs are recognized the right way and have the correct names from the map files. I stack the roms from multiple regions and this works flawless. Just the "Exclude files" filter doesn't. Is there a way to udpate GameEx internal rom lists? Maybe like rescanning all files for the internal DB? My basic setup with all emu configs, roms, assets is about 1 year old and I copied it over from my main GameEx installation. I just reinstalled a current build on top. Greeitngs, Duglim
  8. Hi, I just finished my 3rd GameEx cabinet and encounter an issue I never had before: Usually I use the "Excluded Games" option in advanced emulator Setup to exclude all BIOS and JAPAN roms. My syntax used to be *[bIOS; *[Japan But on this new machine, the filter does not work and all BIOS and Japan roms still appear in the lists. Even more strange, all my "Excluded Games" settings are gone after I shutdown GameEx (ALT+F4), the fields are just blank in the setup tool and in the .ini. This new machine runs on Windows 10, my other 2 cabs have Windows 7. GameEx is on the recent version. I copied my full setup from an old cab to the new one and installed GameEx fresh on top. Any help or ideas are welcome. Greetings, Duglim
  9. Great! Any chance to get a WIP version, since my 2 cabs only run MAME, SNES, NES, Genesis, 32X and MasterSystem? Seems you have these systems up and running in the new version already. Thx and greetings, Duglim
  10. Hi, tried to set MM up today and also had problems with the dynamic images. I only want to show Mame marquees on my second screen. Problem: MM always shows the static fallback image, no dynamic folder images. I set different Mame marquee images as fallback to test the files, and they show up without problems. I tested with GameEx, then with a .bat script and with a shortcut, always the same issue. I can verify that MM is recognizing my theme, the positioning of the image is also correct on my second display. But somehow no dynamic image shows up. Also no spaces in any path or filenames. My .ini: [General] ImageExtensions=.JPG|.PNG|.BMP|.JPEG|.GIF|.IMG|.png Version=2.1 UseTabs=0 [Mame] Template=Mame Image1=D:\ARCADE\MAME\marquees FileFolder1=2 Backup1=D:\ARCADE\MAME\marquees\3stooges.png <--- Shows up always My command lines I tested: D:\ARCADE\MarqueeMagician\LaunchMM.exe "Mame" "[rom]" D:\ARCADE\MarqueeMagician\LaunchMM.exe "Mame" "3countb" D:\ARCADE\MarqueeMagician\LaunchMM.exe "Mame" 3countb D:\ARCADE\MarqueeMagician\LaunchMM.exe "Mame" "3countb.zip" D:\ARCADE\MarqueeMagician\LaunchMM.exe "Mame" 3countb.zip D:\ARCADE\MarqueeMagician\LaunchMM.exe "Mame" "D:\ARCADE\MAME\roms\3countb.zip" Test-System is Windows 8.1 64 bit. Any Idea, why no dynamic images reach the i_view32.exe? Thx and greetings, Duglim
  11. I use Windows 7 and have it setup for minimal windows experience this way: - Windows auto logins to admin account - Windows background is my GameEx theme background image - Windows startup background changed to the GameEx theme background image - Windows Taskbar is hidden/minimized - Trash icon is moved to the lower right corner, just a few pixel visibel if you know it (turn off icon snapping) - GameEx is in autostart and starts maximized - GameEx exit shuts down windows, you can set this in GameEx settings The only thing visible from Windows is the "Windows is starting" and "Windows is shutting down" text, but it's not that hard since the background on startup/shutdown is not the original blue one from Windows 7.
  12. Suggestion: Make "Search" menu entry available if GameEx ist launched in Mame-only mode via "gameex.exe -mame" Mame has so many games, search is very important for me. Greetings, Duglim
  13. Okay, too bad. Maybe something for your backlog, small and easy. Greetings, Duglim
  14. Is it possible to have the SEARCH menu entry, if gameex is launched via the mame only shortcut "gameex.exe -mame". I have a mame only setup, but I'd like to have access to the search. Thx, Duglim
