  1. Yah it has been a while. Finally got around to rebuilding. Arcade Edition looks great. GameEx.ini log.txt
  2. I cultivated a romset for DeMul basically, but in the GAE section for Naomi, it shows every possible rom name. For the roms installed the artwork and names are correct so I know it is picking those up... I cannot seem to find the option to only display installed roms.
  3. Actually I made the loader to try to fix the problem initially. It works just dandy outside of GE all the time. So far so good since I posted those files though. Thanks for the tip on the exit the process with ESC key.
  4. So I will post them up, but since I did the emulator export, I have not been able to get it to crash. I was trying to so I could post up the log immediately afterwards. Also, I built a loader so escape would close demul. 5. Ok, so something is pretty goofy here. I run runitgame.bat and it works fine outside of gameex. But inside, after about 20 seconds the screen freezes. I have disabled debug mode, I have enabled show desktop. One weird thing that happens from when launched within gameex is that it locks the mouse pointer in the middle of the screen. Otherwise, at some point when troubleshooting, I convinced GE to put a pause in the launching bat file, don't really need that anymore so need to figure out how to remove that also. If anyone has any ideas, let me know. Thanks, Shane
  6. I am running my cab off an ipac mini, and I do play a lot of fighting games on the cabinet, so the keyboard direct throughput sounds like a great idea. What are the implications, and should I enable it? I do not use media center at all. Thanks!
  7. Rockstar dude. Both my issues fixed in one fell swoop. Thanks!
  8. Works fantastically once I kept reading until the part where it says to go to enable/disable features.
  9. Got into a situation where there was an endless update loop. FIxed that with a download of 14 and installed over my 13 implementation. That being said, I hate getting calls on this while on vacation, so is there a way to disable the update checking?
  10. Is there a way to force confirmation before exiting gameex after the exit key is pressed? Sounds odd, but I have a lot of kids playing the cabinet, and they accidentally exit out of gameex and it kinda ruins the experience. I would prefer a confirmation screen if possible. Thanks, Shane
  11. I think something is goofy in the newer sharks with mp4. Have not had much time to dig into it though.
  12. LOL I purchased a copy before even downloading it when it said "Steam Support". Now I am pretty happy... just a few quirks here and there with launchers and stupid video formats, etc...
  13. So... it crashes when launched from GE but not outside of GE. I have disabled HideOS again (hide desktop), but it appears that the video the player is playing before launching the game out of GE never stops running. Is there a way to disable that for a specific title, so I can make sure that is not the issue. So after the game crashes, (before going to even the first screen) I get to see a black screen and hear the video of the demo in GE playing. So seems like something screwy going on there. I have tried disabling videos in KOF XIII with the launch with -v option. Still dies. Any ideas would be awesome. Maybe just how to disable the preview video so I can narrow it down.
  14. Can you try turning off verify and as much of the filtering as possible. I recently set this up a few times and have not seen this issue. Maybe we can narrow it down to a filter or some other issue causing us grief.
  15. <---- Sometimes that guy knows something Really happy you got it working. As I got really frustrated early on, I totally know where you were coming from.
  16. Does C:\GameEx\DATA\gamelist.txt exist? If so, does it contain the games you are finding during the update list command?
  17. Backups For backups you have a ton of options. If the Cab is not going to be at your house, I would suggest an external or second hard drive. If you are using windows 7, the included backup tool works pretty well. If anything else, go with acronis or something similar. If your friend has WHS or some sort of NAS use the backup software included... ok last option, if you buy an external HD like from WD, it usually includes backup software. Resolutions I am not certain about your card, but on mine, I found that forcing AA on mame.exe in the Nvidia Control panel really helped to smooth things out on my 32" 1360x768 Vizio LCD. Might have some performance limitations with that card though. To be real direct though, on an LCD, using anything other than a native resolution is going to add additional artifacts. Pause Problem I don't experience that with my setup, it works as described. But, I did not define pause in GE. I only defined it in MAME.
  18. So I tried the hideOS.exe from the 13.20 version, and guess what? Still broken. At which point I compared the MD5 Hashes, and they of course matched exactly.... This is kinda buggin' me. So I will probably re-enable it tomorrow and see what errors are being thrown if any.
  19. I have avoided Xpadder because I do not have any control pads equipped, but I am specifically thinking of adding 2 XB360 Controllers for playing some of the classic 4 player games and then using that plugin (forget teh name) that allows for remote screen viewing and then display the game on teh TV (not intentionally typing teh, but my fingers are translating brain thoughts poorly at the moment) then handing two players on the TV a couple of XB controllers. Seems pretty sweet to me. But I LOVE the idea of AHK or other compiled language to script out disabling the USB hub my light guns are attached to when launching KoFXIII and then re-enabling it afterwards. Man, you guys are a bunch of swell folks! Joined the steam group.
  20. I was about to post some info on the old post about trying the version from my desktop (running 13.20 still). Someone delete the old thread?
  21. Ok... here is how I did this... UGLY but it works. I unplug everything BUT my minipac and keyboard. Then player 1 defaults to keyboard. I will eventually script this, but I use the lightgun so infrequently that this is going to be near the bottom of my scripting queue. Second thing. To get the keys for player 1 to actually stick... setup a legit, non-conflicting control set for player 2 on U,D,L,R,LK and then just set the others to something NOT USED by P1 like keypad 6. Make sure none of your P2 UDLRLK match anything on P1. Then and only then, setup P1. Now when you press escape, the keys should actually stick. After you have gone back to the main menu, go back and configure P2. AGAIN BE CAREFUL NOT TO DUPLICATE ANYTHING!!!!! It will not give you an error, but will use default keys whenever you go to play. Also, I will donate 5USD for a Steam Emulator config, especially one that let me set configs for specific titles. Like "Run Before/Run After" XOXOXO and if you use Steam and Play fighting games for the love of Green Trees and Hippies everywhere look me up on steam "Slavearm"
