  1. Hey there!

I stumbled to a thread you started last Feb regarding game exit in FP goes straight to windows desktop. I currently have the same issue you had and seems you resolved it. You mentioned adding the "STAYINRAM" to the command line in FP. Could you possibly explain how to do that? I don't understand how to get to the command line. Apologize for my ignorance!

  2. At the suggestion from a member on the VPforums board, I added "STAYINRAM" to the command line for FP and that seems to have fixed the problem. I've tested it on five or six tables so far and it seems to be working. It's a little slow shutting down FP and returning to PinballX, but I can live with it for now. Thanks again Carny_Priest for all your help! Kent
  3. The only other front end I have is GameEx and it's not been open when running PinballX. Both VP and FP work fine outside of PinballX. I tried disconnecting the Star Wars yoke and the OptiPAC and IPAC and used only a regular keyboard and mouse and had the same results. You may be right about Windows XP. I found a few threads with issues with XP but not this exact problem. I plan to upgrade to Windows 7 at some point, but it's not in the budget right now. Would love to figure out a way to make this work. I'm wondering if I should make a separate post regarding running PinballX with XP. Perhaps someone has encountered the same problem and has a solution. I've attached my log and config files, thank you very much for all your help! log.txt PinballX.ini
  4. Carny_Priest I appreciate the suggestions, but I continue to experience the same issue when exiting a table back to PinballX. I've tried configuring the exit emulator key to "Q" and even tried "E" with the same results. I've cleared the JoyCodes for Quit and Exit and I've tried re-installing PinballX. I've tried running PInballX as the Admin, My operating system is WindowsXP and my video card is Ultmarc's ArcadeVGA 5000, any known issues with either? Any other suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks for all your help! Kent
  5. Carny_Priest, great information, thank you very much! Yes, I have the real deal. I purchased a USB Star Wars Yoke kit from RAM Controls and it works great. I understand RAM Controls is no longer in business. Attached are a few pictures. I may still have the template I used for constructing the base if you're interested. I appreciate your help, thanks again. Kent
  6. I'm running PinballX in my MAME cabinet. I have multiple joysticks, a spinner, track ball and Star Wars flight yoke.
  7. Carny_Priest, thank you very much for your suggestions. I'll make the changes and let you know how it works. Do I need to make any changes to the JoyCodes? Thanks again Kent
  8. Would someone who is using both Future Pinball and VP please post their working PinballX config file, I would really appreciate it!
  9. I would appreciate help in resolving an issue I'm experiencing when exiting VP and Future Pinball back to PinballX. I've found several threads related to this issue and have tried the suggested fixes, but continue to have the same issue. When exiting a emulator by pressing escape, it not only exits the emulator, but PinballX as well. I understand there can be a conflict with PinballX and FP as they both use "escape" to exit and shut down. I'm wondering if the problem may be with the user profile that is launching PinballX. I've tried running it with a profile that has Administrator privileges but that didn't resolve the issue. There is a setting under the user profile which may limit the functionality of programs, see picture. I've tried running PinballX with this setting unchecked and get the same results. Is there a difference running PinballX as Administrator versus a user profile that has administrator privileges? Attached are my config and log files. Thanks Kent log.txt PinballX.ini
  10. I just installed PinballX and it's awesome! The plunger and flipper issue I was experiencing in GameEx is not a problem in PinballX. Mark this issue as RESOLVED!
  11. I would greatly appreciate help in troubleshooting an issue with Future Pinball. When being launched by GameEx, the flippers (left and right shift keys) and the plunger (enter) will only work intermittently, while the credit key (5) and 1st player start key(1) work fine. Outside of GameEx, FP works great. I also have VPinmame installed and it works fine when being launched by GameEx. I've been studying the configuration for Future Pinball in GameEx and just can't see what I'm missing. I'm running Windows XP with Ultimarc's IPAC 4. Attached are my config and log files. Thanks! Kent GameEx.ini log.txt
  12. I have a couple of issues I would appreciate your help with, and both issues may be related. The first issue is the GameEx/MAME bezel is not being displayed went playing a vertical MAME game. Secondly, when playing a vertical MAME game such as Gryuss, the top of the screen is cut off a bit. When playing a horizontal game, the game appears right of center causing the right edge of the game to be out of view. I'm using a horizontal arcade monitor with Ultimarc's ArcadeVGA 5000. I've found similar topics on the forum dealing with resolution issues, but none of the suggested fixes have worked. Attached are my log and config files, any suggestions would be most appreciated Thanks! Kent GameEx.ini log 01-12.15.txt
  13. Quick update............. I've used the advance config setting in GameEx to send the ALt F4 command to the emulator when pressing escape but the problem persists. Here is the section from the log file related to the launching of BGB. Does this look correct. Attached is the full log file. 16:09:18.4 6/14/2014: Running: cmd.exe /c C: bgb.exe "C:\Emulators\BGB\Nintendo Gameboy Color\ROMS\Star Trek (U) [!].zip"16:09:18.6 6/14/2014: Shutting down display16:09:32.5 6/14/2014: Exiting Game16:09:32.5 6/14/2014: Sending %{F4} to emulator16:09:34.2 6/14/2014: Exiting Game16:09:34.2 6/14/2014: Closing Process16:09:35.6 6/14/2014: Killing Process16:09:36.8 6/14/2014: Writing Stats I've been in touch with the author of BGB who suggested, based upon the bgb error, it may be a ghaphics issue. Any thoughts on this possibility would be most appreciated! Kent log w Alt F4.txt
  14. I recognize the escape key being the source of my problem might be a stretch, but I think escape in BGB causes the emulator to pause. If that's the case, the first game would play fine but subsequent games may not if the emulator is paused or locked up, which is the symptom I'm experiencing. I'm not that familiar with BGB and just started working with it yesterday, I may be mistaken about the escape key causing the emulator to pause. Thanks again for all your help! Kent
  15. I'll try your suggestion of running last game and note what happens. I'll have to verify the ROM file structure this evening when I get home, but I believe each game rom contains only one version. I wonder if using the escape key within GameEx may be causing my problem. Seems like the escape key in BGB initiates the debugging audit when check in the config settings, (I have it unchecked) I can't recall for sure, but it seems like you have to right click and select "exit" in BGB to exit a game, but I may be thinking of how to exit the emulator itself and not a game. Thanks for all your help! Kent
