  1. thanks! I will try things here and let you know what the results are. Btw standard mame? Can I use this in a XP? If so which version should I use? Don
  2. Hi Stu, thanks for your reply to this topic! Bugger this is not what I hoped to hear thanks upfront for the upload when your able! Still I don't get it?? The strange fact is that in Mame32 the pictures are somethimes different from the ones in GameEx? How would you explain that?
  3. Hi Everyone, I have some questions concerning the finetuning of gameresolutions in gameex. Allthough I am very pleased with my new setup and several games allready look stunning (Neo-Geo games) Problem I recently installed a new Multisync Hantarex Polostar (25") monitor. The following setup is used; Hardware Upright cabinet UMK3 P4 3.2Ghz 1 Ghz Memory AVGA 2th edition J-pac Polostar Multisync (15Khz 25Khz 31Khz 35khz) Software Windows Xp Gameex Mame32 question How can I have a fullsize picture without manually adjust the H and V positions? I read a topic on Retroblast how to setup the hardware for Multisync monitors http://www.retroblast.com/articles/monitor.html and followed up all tips and tools for the best results. Still have some very small pictures with the older vertical games and MK series? Does anyone have experiences with this kind off setup? And/or does anyone have some info or hints in the right direction? Your help will be very much apreciated
  4. Thx Emph! The CPO as you called it, it's attached to the PC's mainboard to show Power and HD activity. Here are some other fine detailles; On and off button (PC) and Volume control I used a Soundblaster 2.1 P380 speakerset which comes with a small volume control unit
  5. Ouch what a waste With some extra hardware attached it's a peace of Mamecake
  6. Hi Everyone! I have build several Mame cabinets in the past few years, mainly from Universal cab's. A few months ago I owned a "MK2" cabinet and this was the first time I immediatelly fell in love with a Midway build dedicated cab. Mainly the size of this type of cabinet is what I like in general, it gives you enough space for 6 buttons p.player. without adding or changing too much, I like the original feeling and looks the best. I added some extra buttons (MK2 has only 5 p.p;) wired the 4,5 and 6 button to the J-pac. Added some power switch and HD and Power Led's and the fun could begin WRONG........, as soon as it was finished friends where also very in love with this type of Mame cabinet so after some hard work they begged me to sell it to one of them. I've always tried to find some Old school like Pacman and/or Galaga Cab but they are very hard to find on our market here, and if they appear most of the time I'm even too late to react It took me some time and miles to find another Midway cab, and promissed myselve to not sell this time ~ Besides my two other projects (cocktail cab's which I'm building from scratch Galaga and Ms Pacman) I finally could start all over again and build one great cab for my own fun. Allthough it still looks like it was designed and with the minimum of extra's (on the outside;) here is the result of my current job.
  7. Hi, Ive almost completed my MK3 - Mame Project running under XP and GameEx and it's running great In the past I configured my systems under DOS combined with Advanced Mame where I configured the Emulater and frontend so, that every time I started the system it "auto" started with the last played game. I would like to do the same in GameEx (and/or Mame32), this way the system would be starting-up in MK3. I searched at the Faq's area but coudn't find the answer? On they other hand I can't imagine that I'm they only one with this request? Is this function available? If so......, how do I configure this in GameEx? Or do I have to configure it in Mame32? Any answer which will do the job would be very much apreciated many thanks Upfront! Arcadegek
  8. Thanks again Emph, Sorry for not adding this info in my config list but for your information, I am a registred user! (Like ' I think' everybody should be!! Btw. otherwise I coudn't use/change the rotation option right;) Anyway You're right with your last advise! We both came up with the same conclusion for solving the problem (when you replied I was writing the final conclusion) Anyway I'm very greatfull for your kind and prompt reply's !! Don
  9. Problem Fixed Case Closed! note! I disabled the bezel options in mame32 from the start! but I forgot or somehow changed the Bezel option in GameEx which was still set as thrue. This caused the problem in not executing the vertical games in a hor/orientated GameEx! A litle confusion do why did it work out ok when I tried the rotation option for vertical games? It showed up horizontal just like I wanted, without the bezel option set to false? Anyway the problem is solved!! Therefore it's maybe not so interesting to know that answer Damn.... I was that close I also read the faq several times but didn't noticed the answer on my specific question.
  10. Hi Emph, Thanks for your reply! Hmmm..., I tried to follow your great advise but the GameEx.ini file can't find, BezelVersion=1?? Don
  11. Update!! I tried the rotation option 90 and -90 degrees once more and the result was strange? (at least in mine opinion;) The vertical games start up ok now (even on the horizontal monitor, like it did in the past;). Only the menu of GameEx's menu is now Vertically 90 or -90 degrees orientated like it should be for Vertical installed monitors! As soon as I change the option back in the ' default setup ' vertical games won't start again. When I tried to start a game, it returns in the gameEx menu. What do I do wrong? Anybody?
  12. Hi Everyone, I suddenly experience some problems to start Vertical games in GameEx on a Horizontal installed monitor. Recently things where ok? Becuase I'm still tuning Up the setup maybe I did something wrong? Alltough I've been cracking my cells on what it could be....., and after hrs trying and checking the setup, I coudn't find any logical problems or sollutions so far. I even tried to reinstall both mame32 and GameEx. Didn't solve the problems either First let me tell you what kind of configuration I use; Hardware P4 3.2Ghz Ati Rage Pro 128 512mb Memory S/W Windows Xp SP2 DirectX 9+ Netframe 2.0 Mame32 0.110 (also tried other Mame32 versions) Latest GameEx version (Also tried older versions) I am currently thinking abouth a clean Install and start all over again but before I do, I rather prefer to solve the problems without re-installing everything Maybe I overlooked something? So any suggestions or experiences from my fellow readers would be more then apreciated . Btw. I never occur real strange things in GameEx I coudn't solve so...? (only great words for Tom:). Last test before placing my question on this forum; I also tried (in the Adv. Config area) to use the rotate monitor option and...... this way it works out ok !! Therefore I think it must be something to do with my resolution configuration In GameEx? In Mame32 everything works ok without the rotation set to thrue. Thanks in advance!
