Think that worked thanks, Alpha. Although, PSP still gets confused between Wipeout pulse and pure - launches pulse only - have to look into it more... there are also .dbcacheini and .dbchachenodata in the data folder - do I need to delete these too?

Hi Folks - had this one before - reviewed all posts under "my content" but can't find the answer that worked before. Basically, in PSP and NDS game selection - select one game + launches another. Think the solution last time had something to do with wiping cahce files or something - but there's that many dotted around the GameEx folder - don't want to go loco on it! Could anyone please advise? Many thanks

Thanks Adultery! Funnily enough, I remembered I had this in my dusty DS collection in my loft, so dug it out and gave it a spin.... I got this far and then put my foot through the screen.... At which point, my personal trainer and I parted company due to personal differences. I feel stoked though after my right thigh crunches. (sorry to hijack the thread, OP)

Thanks as ever Null - helpful explanation. I'll continue hunting around for this as would appear maybe there isn't software to do this.

Hmmm.. feels like one should tread lightly over such discussions... please advise if of bad form... Prob is null - these run fine, so don't appear to be bad dumps so would prefer to keep them I'll go away and do some reading on CRC I think thanks

Hi folks, I'm looking for a Rom manager that will rename rom file names to those in .dat or .xml files (e.g. no-into;redump;hyperlist) The awkward thing is it needs to do this by fuzzy match on the per-existing filename, not the CRC. Here's what I've tried: RomManager - great overall, but seems to match based on CRC HSpin Tools - again - matches by CRC FatMatch - someone suggested using this 'in reverse' - have correct filenames on the emumovies dl'd boxart - match + rename rom - however can only rename image from rom Perfect Match - as above ROMVault - doesn't display existing roms despite scanning them in - I'm assuming this also works on CRC ClearMamePro - Thought I read somewhere that this also works on CRC. Must admit, haven't gone into CMP in detail because of this and also on initial impressions - it looks like something that you'd have to dedicate time to learning - don't want to do this if won't help. So - any rom managers work on fuzzy match with existing filenames and dat/xmls? Frustrating because most are just tags off (e.g. (E) and or (J) or things like that) As ever, any help greatly appreciated.

Well that was a doddle. Just like installing FFD show! Trickiest bit was avoiding the bloatware and browser bars (but we all gotta make a buck, right?) Kudos to Dazzle for spotting the pattern. Gonna try waiting one step beyond exasperation before posting next time. In all seriousness, like to think I can sense the chipfat on the breeze, and thinking that my posts are causing some annoyance amongst the more regular and experienced users on this forum. I can only offer my apologies and undertake to post less in exasperation and more out of being "proper stuck" for 2 days or more. Lastly on an additional serious note (and like the Jaws theme - best to change a note before it looses it's impact) I'd like to extend my genuine thanks to the regular and experienced members here for their patience; incisive advice and admirable tolerance of those less informed and practiced. My system would be a beep machine without it! Thanks to all. Tempest - I just found Minter's Tempest 2000 on Atari Jaguar! Get in! What's the best platform/version for it? Got Minter as a FBook bud - amazingly he was on there and just accepted! Now just gotta find Matthew Smith.

Heh - fair point Tom. Ya never know - I might actually be able to help out answering q's rather than asking them in time. + I've never been shy of asking! Cheers null - I did have a quick look at those Shark codec thingies, but looked quite complicated and thought saw some warning about be careful with setup - another non-5 minute job! Come back to this one another day.

DL'd via Emu-movies. They play in media player outside of game-ex. .mp4 extension. However - in GEx - just get black screen - occasionally get a 'boarder' round outside of video about half inch of varying colours. Very weird - never had this one before! Any ideas? 9 months now... when everything gets set up and your cab gets finished - does the sun come out, angels sing and Kiera Knightly says "I do"??
-
I'm sure I tried that, null. Did it again and worked - many thanks.
-
Thanks Null. Just ratified my decision. I'll never get this system in its cab if I started on Pinball by my reckoning.
-
Cheers folks - I think this is gonna turn into quite a mission, so back boiler for now.

Sod's law innit. One of the most basic and oldest systems is a nightmare to set up! Using O2EM. Roms launch fine from O2EMLauncher, but when I try to launch from command line (outside of gameex using runitgame.bat CL) I get an unfathomable error: offs - can't remember how to do the spoiler thing either. Whoever designed this BB system didn't really keep end users in mind! Any ideas anyone?

Aside from "don't play with your eyes shut" any helpful advice? - gonna start setting up pinball emus on my arcade cab... In efforts to avoid wild goose chases/blind alleys: Future or Visual Pinball (or V pin mame???) Will aim to use Pinball X as front end - any setup tips? Easy as download emu, download tables and go? Any extras needed? Thanks

thanks krakerman, but tied to Access now :/
