  1. Cool. I think I'm uninstalling and using evolution. The base gameex images used in the app look choppy on a wide screen HD monitor.
  2. What's new since 2008 or so? We all know Tom is always hard at work, I only know of playing GameEx from back then. What should I configure in my new setup playing around? I have a nice hyperspin setup with XML I can read to output some kind of GameEx configuration. Back in the day I remember it was all ini files or something, I dont even know how to configure gameex programatically. Do you just dump games into it and set a system and it can reference video files like hyperspin? It's late here and I am sleepy, but I will play with it soon. I just wanted to say hello to everyone and to talk
  3. Hey Tom and community. I have moved off gameex to other front-ends but I wanted to try out my old gameex system I built in 2004/2005 against todays builds. Is that even possible? I am excited Tom built a pinball management system too and I am looking forward to messing about with his apps again. So how do I catch up from 10 years of development I missed? haha I have the ultimate upgrade build to see if Tom's code is backward compatible. I better make a backup!!

How do I set the extra debugging again? Thanks for your time.
  5. i am getting some freezing issues too.... everything just locks.... yuck.... there are some bugs running around here
  6. try scripting using any means necessary next time..... but great effort... how do i configure gameex to use it.
  7. the funny thing about this issue that my gameex exen sorts a game detail page alphabetically. Lets say I load a game.... normally it says.... Play This Game Box Remomve From Favorites and then the long description.... Moments later the thing automatically sorts by name and then it will say... a range of training programs.... Box chance that you will complete.... down targets. As you can see... nothing makes sense how this is sorting and this is some kind of issue with the way my gameex version. Someone has to be experiencing this issue.
  8. I think I may have to do this.... out of sheer lazyness I wouldnt really want to do this because of the number of PC games and other things linked. Those will have to go into another category. Thanks for checking for me Tempest..... but I did a test.... and it doesnt matter how i order it using this new wizard. GameEx re-sorts it again. I used the sort by name button first.... then i moved nintendo to the bottom..... while gameex was loaded on the page.... it auto-re-sorts and screws up the list. TOM? Bug??
  9. So for example, the 'Emulated Games' list of all my emulators... I have my list ordered by year the system came out, but then gameex now will re-order them all by name and gets it all messed up and ordered completely illogically to how I want it now. Any ideas on why Tom has sorting on level pages like that? Even the Start Page sorts by name and looks really funny when it sorts by name on the latest version of gameex. Yes, it makes sense in a roms list... but not on the 'Emulated Games' list
  10. well i dont mind my roms pages sorting... but not the top level list of emulator categories... those now sort alphabetically.
  11. How do I disable GameEx sorting all my lists by name? This is annoying with my configs... Also on this latest version when I am scrolling down sometimes the pointer goes to the top of the list randomly... has anyone experienced this?? Thanks for the info
  12. Yea.... who doesnt know headkaze on here..?? Yeah I am glad some people still help on the MSACCESS databases that I extracted using GHETTO code.... if I rewrote my extractor it would be much more efficient now that I am a better programmer. Search feature seems pretty frickin cool and I did install the latest (and of course it never botches up my configuration) Where are the plugins? Thanks man.
  13. Could anyone give like an overview of what has happened in the gameex community in the past year? What is new and revolutionary that will blow my mind? Also what emulators have been updated and/or released???? I am an old advocate of the forums here and used to love contributing scripts and things. (You know I am an old poster when I am member number 117/4500 users on the forums) Blow my mind here with some of the things that Tom has implemented lately and other users who have contributed. I actually created most of those video game databases that Tom includes in his installer.... has anyone ever updated or improved those Tom? I miss configuring my gameex.... but it got kind of old automating and organizing my games. I need to upgrade from a build from 12/30/2006..... to the latest. Does anyone even remember me from like two years ago?? I am probably ancient history here in this community.... ;-) I got married since the last time I posted here, so you can imagine why I dont have as much time to play games... Tom.... where did this file go?? http://www.incubus.tomspeirs.com/Gameex_Do...incubus158).zip This used to be that entire zip I created of screenshots....
  14. Hey guys.... I am an old school gameex user who hasnt posted in a while. But all of you use my work when ever you boot up gameex. I created nearly all of the MDB databases by extracting data from websites. So I am trying to promote and get the word out about my website. Its called MemoryCrawler and its purpose is to document you memories. You might think its just another blog, but I have written every line of code to make it a sweet application meant for you to send your memory to your friends inbox so that they can give their recollection of the story among a million other features of the site. Its still a small site (in terms of users), but I just wanted to throw it out for everyone to check out when they have some spare time. I know you all will be the best users on the site because you will send me bugs if you find them. Heres an example of what your memories can look like. And of course.... memories involving Video Games are welcome and there is even a category for that type of memory classification. Happy gameexing and memorycrawling. -Dave PS - What is your favorite video game memory? One of mine was the time I played a tournament at MELEE-FC.
  15. Hey Tom thanks for the support. And I am glad that people are using the databases and other projects of mine. Gameex was like my life this last winter. A lot of my spare time was spent on it and a few people have probably used some of my contributions. I probably wont spend any time on it for a while now, unless some new ideas come about on how to improve my front end. Its getting warmer out and I should get off my PC. The last thing I worked on in gameex was a couple of months ago, trying to get custom backgrounds for each emulator. Here they are. SCREENSHOTS DOWNLOAD Night.... take these PSD's if you want and modify them for your theme. Also if you have some systems done... can you send me the PSD's... cause obviously my list is incomplete and I dont have a lot of time to work on gameex now. Ideally Tom, we would want all of the community contribute to what they want their custom backgrounds look like for each emulator (or have you make an executive decision on what images look the coolest). Maybe we can get these types of backgrounds in the build. Bear in mind I suck at photoshop. I smell a custom background photoshop competition.!!
