nullPoineter, thanks for your reply. My apologies for only replaying so late (work etc....). As for your question, I'm not using "DOS" shell (not as far as I know), but I'll double check the shortcut settings. Okay, one thing, sometimes the bootup is perfect, but some other times its not. (which boggles my mind). My question to you is... SHOULD I be running it in shell or just under default windows shortcut? In the meantime I'll be getting back to you on shelling question if problem not resolved, otherwhise I'll confirm resolution. Thanks

Hi guys Need help with WindowsXP and GameEx please. I'm using the Start menu -> Startup to load GameEx on WindowsXP. The program (GameEX) runs, but in the background (i.e. blank screen with sound playing etc.). Not having (or wanting) a keyboard/mouse on my cab, I can't trigger the program to run (well not without Alt Ctrl Del and selecting it from the Task Manager). It there any way, in Windows or GameEx where I can set the priority of the program to open in front of everything else. Or is there an alternative program to use in XP to open program full screen? Help would be very much appreciated. Thanks

Hi guys I've got two problems, one caused by trying to fix the first one. I would like to ask some experienced help please. I'm using MAMEUI 146 and newest version on GameEx with iPac/keyboard (WinXP). I'm at the end of my arcade cabinet project and just need to sort out these two issues. Problem 1. When I'm in a MAME game, upon pressing the GameEx Input Settings configured "back button", the game exits and returns to GameEx. I suspected that the problem came form the Input Settings, but after removing the "Back button" setting in GameEx, the problem persisted. I've then gone and started to look at the MAME Configure setting (Tab triggered) to see if these buttons are not double configured to exit, and that is where problem 2 started. Does anyone have an idea where this problem can be coming from other than the input settings? Problem 2. Upon going through the MAME configuration settings, I started to none-fy the unused buttons. I've stupidly also made the MAME UI_CONFIGURATION button (usually Tab) have no key. Now I can't trigger the configuration menu anymore. Does anyone know how I can reset these settings externally, or what/where the ini or cfg file is situated that contains the MAME UI_CONFIGURE input setting? (Remember its for keyboard, not hotrod, etc.). Thank you in advance

Thanks Dazzle Another question though... Within the menu structure.... I.e. you have a Menu named Fighting games. How do I get a list of only fighting games, i.e. from MAME into that menu?

Hi again, my second question. Although I managed this with the first format or my cabinet software, I can't get it right the second time. Well it was almost 3 yeast ago... I'm using MAME and zinc as the only emulators on the system. The games seems to run in their respective menu positions. Still on my clean menu system. I want the following: Start Page All Games (must include all the games from MAME & Zinc) Favourite Games (sorted...) Last Played (sorted...) Most Played (sorted...) Fighting Games (have all fighting games from MAME & Zinc) 2D Platform Games (have all 2d platformers from MAME) etc. Shut Down (sorted...) I know I have to do the groupings myself, but how to I set up this structure? Firstly the grouping and secondly to run all the game menus from the start page.... Any tutorial or guidance would be appreciated Thanks so far...

Hi guys. i want to create a clean menu system. How do I remove the | Change View | Back | Home | Exit | header from my list? Do I do it in the Theme editor or is there a setting in the configuration for that?
