  1. Also your log, so we can see if its a particular emulator. When I said exactly I was referring to that not .net framework install, but that its probably an emulator messing up and needing a lot more details. As for the black screen is this hideos.exe perhaps? Have you tried ALT-F4 on it_ Is GameEx.exe still running? What is the .net error? Really need much more info.
  2. All, The FAQ pinned topic in the forum is now open if anyone wanted to post suggestions for adding new ones. This should obviously be in there and ill add it, but feel free to help me out Cheers.
  3. I never realised that was a prodigy album cover. I like them too, and they came from around here. "Smack My Bitch Up" always gives me tingles, and the earlier stuff was good too I guess your an old skool raver HK? Or maybe a closet one like me!
  4. For folks who like the speech plugin. Here is a small update to it. It now speaks the game descriptions. Just unzip to the plugins folder. Someone requested this, and I thought it was a cool idea. It actually is pretty cool. Of course the speech plugin was only ever supposed to be a quick thing to test the PlugIn system. Have fun. PlugInSpeech.zip
  5. This is odd, this came up once before with Vista (which I think was hacked fake RTM version). What version of windows are you using, and what .net framework and sp? PS: GameExtender viewer normally gives a black screen if it cant connect. EDIT: It is odd because a cast from "5.2" to a double is in fact valid, this should not be an error. I would try uninstalling .net 1.1 completely and try .net 2.0 or ensure you have the service pack for 1.1
  6. I'm not so sure that is the issue, and I don't know that such a command exists in .net. Your version of bass.dll should be seperate from the GameEx one so can'ts see how GameEx can lock anything. Its not in the system dir or a shared path. The other reason that I am unsure, is its the first time I've hear of an app conflict in such a way. The null point is odd, Bass init not returning a 0? I've never had it not returning a 1 or 0?
  7. Did you change the resolution your running them at? I think its a bit of a bug when GameEx tries to scale them from there intended resolution perhaps. Does that make any sense? EDIT: Or font size any different?
  8. Hi Cupid, I thought you'd be interested in the plugins. I remember you requesting something like this a long time ago. As for the above, this is something I need to do in GameEx as well as the plug in system. What HK and I decided to do for now though is read controls.ini or nplayers.ini yourself, just by implementing an ini reader that accesses the files in ..\data....
  9. I can't duplicate it here, and I can't think of anything that has changed recently that would make that work differently. Could you have a think about what else might have changed on your system, such display changes etc? Could you give me a better idea of your display setup so I can try and duplicate it. I have nothing to go on from this. Thanks. Tom.
  10. Looks fine. Although I notice your using an intermediate MAME build. Which is really not a good idea, unless your a developer or MAME tester. How exactly are bezels not working? Are there two files in the bezelv2 folder? If not install gameex again (no need to uninstall first). Matbe you actually have some proper mame bezels (artwork) for the old version of MAME, you should remove these.
  11. Hi Adultry, Could you help me out and do me a favor? Can you confirm update list works with verify roms on and with .110? Are you using command line or mame32? Thanks in advance for your help, and thanks for all you've been doing.
  12. Can you do the following: Get a different mame version exe. Change it in the config. Then run GameEx. Exit GameEx. Change the MAME EXE back, run GameEx and post the log? Should help me figure out what's going on here. I think this issue may be to do with the MAME 1xx versions. Thanks. Tom
  13. Hi again, I just looked at the code, and external apps do actually shut down bass (BASS_Free) and before the app is launched. So your idea of some kind of delay should deffinitly do it, otherwise something else must be up.
  14. I can also probably provide a global setting to shut down bass when launching apps (not emus). Its not doing anything apart from fading any playing music out, and back in when retuning to GameEx. I don't mind doing that.
  15. Hi, I am the author, not HK. I'm not sure from above how your actually launching the Jukebox software. Is it setup as an App or Emulator? You might want to set it as an emulator, and set the option not to play the Jukebox (GameEx Jukebox) while running the emu. Otherwise GameEx does not shut down bass. You can set the run as app option for an emulator config so it works like an app instead of a list of games. Tom
  16. Have you another emu to try? Like I said there seems to be conflicts with PJ64. I had issues with it.
  17. Can you try it with GameEx running windowed? I have not tried the TS patch, but I do know project 64 does not normally run under remote desktop. I also found there was a conflict with certain codecs (thats what your not seeing, the codec selection) with project 64. In addition this is really something that will likely not work under rdp, but like I say I dont know about the patch. UltraVNC is a better option than rdp if your running apps that use directx.
  18. Yes it should be registered, and Im pretty sure its ok with no codecs. I think this may be an issue with the posters setup. Perhaps its the actual com component falling over. I guess just put an exception check and return as if no codecs installed if one happens. I am already doing that in the config app.
  19. Both still working for me. There's never been a global "Play Last Game", but there is a MAME Last Game. What sort of Control/Input setup do you have? Are you using the bypass disclaimer setting?
  20. But did you do exactly what it said and completely remove .net framework 1.1 and then install or remove reinstall .net framework 2.0?
  21. Yeah HK, I realised when I was in bed last night, I forget that. Sorry! Yes, it should be fixed now, but people upgrading from quite a few versions back may not have the fixed version installed.
  22. I'm not sure this is possible with full screen directx applications. Have you turned off the Screensaver and tried it?
