  5. There seems to be little info out there on h264 and h265 decoding licensing and patents. it was my understanding it might break patents even when free and open source. However, I believe even launchbox includes vlc (or did) which would include h264 and h265 decoding. Many free and paid apps including Kodi include h264 and h265 decoding too.
  6. No worries. I'm just pleased it wasn't me I should probably include it with GameEx but I have always tried to be careful with licensing,.
  7. I can see its not creating the snap previews. Its that thread that is locking. That will do it. The usual culprit is codecs and we recommend lav filters.
  8. If its a thread lock,I think it might be the video rendering which I tried to unify with PinballX. im uploading 18.62. Please see if it is any better. Thanks for your help.
  9. I would suggest trying to run gameex in a window. See if there is an unseen app or window. Also turn off artwork download. its probably that.not sure that is your issue though. could be completely unrelated. Draco, the test mode is normal for groovymame on crts, is there an artwork download log?
  10. So i got it a bit wrong. Windows 11 does not even support Wifi 7 yet. What it is actually doing here is running wifi 6e but at 320mhz.
  11. Sorry you did not get a reply until now but to answer you question, at this time there is a utility included with most GameEx variations called the "Setup Wizard". You basically use this tool to setup your emulators and rom path. Its pretty easy. Select the system then folder to your roms. You normally don't need to worry about anything else or artwork etc for most systems. its automatic.
  12. I don't think that's the normal experience but sorry you are having trouble and thank you for persevering. i don't see anything specific to troubleshoot there that makes me think. It could be on your end rather than the software. You could also try an older version to see if something was introduced recently when I was working on cross platform in recent months. Although 18.58 might be before that. Other than that if it is network it will be artwork download or gameex online, so look into that. Paths should not be an issue. i never heard that. Again artwork download maybe.
  13. Update: So no MLO firmware update on the router yet (still waiting on ASUS) but there was a driver update to the Intel BE200 dated January 21st. Getting 3GB still.. 2024-03-14 19-08-14.mp4
  14. Just sharing a good find. I normally use remote desktop on Windows but it is session based and no good for live managing a Pinball or Arcade cabinet. In recent years I used a paid version of AnyDesk when Teamviewer ditched me. AnyDesk works good but the other day I was looking for something for Mac over old legacy VNC. I found nomachine. https://nomachine.com Looks pretty good to me at least on windows on a LAN. There is a 60fps option and resolution fit. Features lacking in all three of the others.
  15. i tested and did find an issue with mame update and am uploading 18.61 in a nminute. However, i am not able to duplicate your issue. The unknown operating system looks weird too. Seems you are getting an issue reading standard input from a process. no idea why. sorry.
  16. it is internet connection and it will require a login here. Its free and no third parties involved either but its not open source. However, there is nothing to stop someone developing an alternative client. its open enough to do that. Just look at the setup wixard xml files. i would consider it an asset to all. i lack a little motivation to develop a client for the third time ashough will be doing something built into gameex locally very soon. i guess that colud be adapted for Pinballx too for the linux and mac versions but not Android,
  17. setup wizard is going to be web based. its there already just people dont know.
  18. Once ive finished with multi platform there will be new skinning features. internally known as V6 themes. I have a lot in my head right now but its going to be incredibly versatile and extensable\
  19. Thank you for your kind offer to help. Im working on GameEx cross platform first. it shares a lot of the code, so progress there is progress with PinballX. I released Alpha versions of Linux of Android GameEx yesterday.
  20. Hi, ill look into it further and try and duplicate. im sorry about this, ive been working really hard on cross platform and must have broken things. Please provide the latest files you are using and i will look further., Sorry, Tom,
  21. I've fixed the apng and just released a new version. I cant find anything wrong right now though. I used the same ini and it works for me. If you could help me with the theme so i can try and duplicate the issue I would appreciate it.
  22. I've made good strides on the Android and Linux versions of GameEx. You can try them and follow the progress here. View the full article
