I love the dark mode!  I also (having tried other front ends) love this database manager, pinballX, and appreciate  all of the hard work done to make and maintain the program(s).

Thank you. Glad you like it. So it's not just me that's using it

Hello, the program dosn't want to start. I get an error massage called "PinballX installation directory could not be found
Please install PinballX via the installer". I have installed Pinballx in the root directory of my HD-Drive "C:/Pinballx", what am i doing wrong. I installed the Pinballx Manager in the Pinballx directory but it showed the same error. I want to use the Manager it looks pretty good. What can i do?

Best Regards

Response from the author:

Too bad. You give a bad review for an user error and not for the effort that Scutters and I did to create this program.

During launch, the program checks if Pinballx is installed. It checks the programs in the registry. If it doesn't find the regkeys, the program cannot find the pinballx install path and will give this message.

What version of pinballx did you install ?

Please use the support page for further help and use for reviewing the program(i hope you will change your review score :D)

Lo acabo de descargar, lo probaré. Muchas Gracias.

I have tried the new version of PinballX 5.5, after installing the mouse pointer has disappeared and the
tables did not work. I have reinstalled version 4.5 which works fine.

Your PinballX Manager software is on another level.

WOW. I opened this software and was absolutely amazed with what this can do.

I tried it with one game, Absolute Genius for what it does and the simple interface it offers.

It truly is a program that makes my table building better organized and operational.

I know I write this after only one table however I do see the power in this tool. Now I have some building to do.

Thank you for the privilege of your software. Shiptreked.

@Mike_da_SpikeThis tool helped me fix my PinballX startup issue after upgrading.  For some reason, it was not liking my Pinball FX3 media even-though it was working before the upgrade.

Thanks for good work.  I am manually going through and unchecking some hide flags and I noticed some of the Pinball FX3 Marvel games were not matched correctly.

I am going to try to correct  them from my backup of my old database but I thought some info to fix it in the next release would be helpful .  I will try to send you a message with the details when I have some time to fix the glitches during the holiday break. or point me to a forum topic where others are providing feedback..  Thanks.

Response from the author:

Thanks for your feedback.
Don't forget that it is not just me, but @scutters does do a lot as well !

I don't have issues with media in FX3.
our program doesn't do a close match (if you are using that).

If you encounter issues, bugs or whatever, please use the support thread or start a PM with me and Scutters

The PinballX Database Manager program is easy to use and the support for it is IMO second to none.

Thanks for your efforts in creating the program Guys!  *****

I had an issue with my PinballX setup and Mike Da Spike walked me through it and all is good now.

Great Program.  Makes it easy to drag and drop art files for tables.  Also easy to see what art files are being used without launching PinballX.

  • hello yes sorry c is translated i forgot to put in english to make the update online it is necessary to pay a subscription?

Response from the author:

Hello wawa,

My google translate doesnt translated this correctly. I understand you like the program, but do you have an issue with the registration to access FTP?

Thanks for your review, I really appreciate it

Edit: for accessing FTP you need a subscription to gameex. This is a feature we build in, but the money is for SpeSoft to maintaining the website, ftp and get all tbe gameex products up to date.

If you want to use online data, but not want to pay, we also have megalinks. You need to add them yourself. For wheels we have 1 link from Joey(and that is pretty up to date). If you search the web, you will finf instruction cards, flyers, audio etc.

I hope this make sense

Been using Pinballx for a number of years managing a collection of about 400 machines.  I've always done things manually as I felt it was quicker than using the Pinballx game manager.   I decided to try this Database Manager as I wanted something that fully supported the new list features.  I gave it a try yesterday and have already found it to be incredibly useful.  It has helped me quickly find some missing assets, fill in a lot of blanks (ipdb number, author, rom, etc.) and it lets me use and create new filters that can be used both for this tool and for the Pinballx Lists.   GREAT JOB!!!
