Sorry to ask, but is it possible to change the font size for the main text in the game lists? I can't find where or how to do it, though I noticed one of the addon themes has smaller text.

The Theme uses smaller text because it uses Arcade Mode, or is at different resolution.

Could you explain why you think being able to change the test size is needed please?

Thanks.

I want to request to take this one step further. Can we change the actual font? So I could have the main menu font and the list fonts be something other than the 4 or 5 choices you have given (why would I want wingdings?). I would like to use a tall or bold and narrow font once again due to the limited real estate on a 640x480 cabinet, and even moreso for those at 640x288. And come on, wouldn't hte Pac-Man font just be cool?

These are the types of things that custom skinning could improve upon, but should be implementable in themes as well.

Tspeirs: I know we are getting so far ahead of what you originally intended (an MCE-like interface) but you went and added so many useful features this frontend is becoming excellent for mame-cabs too!.

Thanks...

OOPS, I just noticed 3.42 added some font changes, I will go play with my ini now! Hopefully that is exactly what I was looking for.

I'm using GameEx in WinXP with 21" monitor set at 1600x1200 - don't have an arcade cab yet :(
Thought it might save some scrolling as the text is fairly large, and also fit some of the longer game names in, but after messing around doing my own theme - I can't it might cause some problems to do this with the unselected/selected graphics etc.
It's not a problem at all though.
GameEx is awesome by the way, if I haven't said it already. Been looking for a progam like this for ages. Tried out Gamebase, but setting up and renaming every file for that is a pain in the ass, and even if you didn't have to do that, GameEx much better anyway.

You should be able to select ANY font installed on your system. Do you have more than 5 fonts installed? It's not my 'choices' it's whats installed on your system. Or at least it should be.

Yeah, I finally got some alternate fonts working (I have many installed). Still having a little trouble with it, but no time to play with it right now. I will try to get back to it in the next week or so.
