I have played around with GAMEEX, and tried everything it recommends, but I still get a crash after this entry in the log:
10:39:08.5 3/1/2005: Initialization OK! Starting GameEx!
10:39:08.5 3/1/2005: Testing Main Loop Once: Processing Frame
10:39:08.5 3/1/2005: Testing Main Loop Once: Getting Tick count
10:39:08.6 3/1/2005: Testing Main Loop Once: Checking for song change
10:39:08.6 3/1/2005: Testing Main Loop Once: Front buffer exists?
10:39:08.6 3/1/2005: Testing Main Loop Once: Surfaces need restore?
10:39:08.6 3/1/2005: Testing Main Loop Once: Checking Joystick for input
10:39:08.6 3/1/2005: Testing Main Loop Once: Drawing Background
10:39:08.6 3/1/2005: ERRORS DETECTED: EXITING
Tried having it so it has no background, still no go. The first few times GAMEEX was fine and let me make a gamelist but even after a reinstall I get this error almost everytime.
Problem with instant crashes (yes I read the FAQ)

Hi,
Can you post the full log, and then:
Can you replace GameEx.exe with the attached debug version.
Run and post the log around where it fails, along with your gameex.ini file.
Also let me know about you software setup and hardware.
Thanks.

I ran into the same problem after installing 3.40 over 3.38. I did a complete uninstall (removing the remaining files and folders as well) and then reinstalled 3.40 and haven't had a problem since. Perhaps a leftover setting in an INI file that 3.40 doesn't like?

I think I may have found it:
it happens when I have the media player on, I tried setting it to '2' like you say in the FAQ but it will crash no matter what. log is attached, ill try the debug now

heres the log with the debug build
I can of course leave it off for now, but i did like that feature and it would be cool to be able to use it (it worked once)

I think this is the problem. Set Load Playlist on thread to false under Audio settings.
That was a new setting in recent releases.

Its actually under Tweaks, but try this version, I think it will fix the issues.
Its a bug in GameEx for sure.
If it works let me know, and ill release on the masses.
Thanks.

The version attached before does fix the problem, as I could duplicate the issue on MCE PC. I'll get an update out today hopefully.
